- After a while of back and forth thinking and considering, and all the shit related to blacklisted models and general AI drama, maybe it's time that I throw in the towel on uberduck.ai.
At least for it's usage in YTPs. I still plan on making site contributions, using it for 2 more poops I have in progress, and maybe still using it for occasional shitposts, but aside from those things mentioned... no more. Full-on sentence mixing will return in future YTPs going forward. Because hey, isn't the whole point of YTP supposed to be about thinking outside the box with the limited sources you have?
(This meme isn't made to mock anyone who tells me to stop using it, nor anyone who works on and/or loves uberduck, it's more-so mocking myself and how piss-poor my ways of using it have been.)

If you play your cards just right, sentence mixing is superior to AI usage. But on occasion, there's just that one line you just can't piece together so you end up going to that. Basically, I find AI voices okay on a limited basis.
Especially in the smexual space, where every source counts to make something pasaable.
If I wanted to use Uberduck, I would only use it for Text To Speech videos where I need a character to actually talk.
I’m more of an RVC guy, since I don’t have the patience for sentence mixing.

I think the appeal of sentence mixing is the attempt to take whats already there and make it into something else, which I feel like is the appeal of YTPs in general
On one hand, it's really pitiful in my opinion that blacklists are being made on AI generated voices. On the other hand, it's understandable to an extent, as it may put a voice actor/actress's career in jeopardy, regardless of whether or not that's the intention. But I'm glad Uberduck is still around, and I most certainly hope it's here to stay for many more years to come.
Please. Don't say that. There are people like me that can dislike AI voicing.

Yeah, sadly most of the time Uberduck voices sound too robotic. Though AI voices will most likely be more refined in the near future.

Honestly, I wholeheartedly agree with this. Uberduck always felt like the "easy" way out for me.

I think uberduck is going to have a place in YTP going forwards, but as a bit of a sideshow to the main event. YTPs are a game of art and skill, and involve way more than just making a character say something funny.
After you posted this, Uberduck got rid of all their character voices. Think you made the right call.

The only reason why I would use uberduck is for TTS video, not RUclips Poops where you sre basically required to think outside the box.

If you're able to glitch the voices on Uberduck, you can make them sound like they're in a RUclips poop. Stuttering repeating sentences pretty much sperging out of control! Lol

It's about time someone heared to me about AI voice generating suck. That should go NOT only for YTPs everywhere, but also for every video. That goes also for YTP Collabs. Uberduck and Fifteen where never cut out for youtube videos in a first place since 2020. There are just 7 times where AI voices where well done for me in some YTPs, and non-YTP videos, but that is now just an ultimate overkill. It's true what Spongebob from IHate4Kids channel said about "using websites to make all characters say whatever you want instead of manual sentence mixing takes away the charm of youtube poops, other videos and voice acting". Now even Morshu was brought into this trash, one of the most iconic sentence-mix character from CD-i games. It IS a meme to mock anyone who tells you to stop using it, also anyone who works on and loves uberduck and fifteen. I NEVER LOVED IT! And there are some people who can hate it as much as me. Basecally, AI voice acting is piss-shit-poor. And you better don't use for two more YTPs and shitposts. This review massage gose to all youtubers in the world to think outside the box. And for the love of Jesus. Don't force Hotel Mario, Link: Faces of Evil/Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon and I.M. Meen. to speak Artificial voices. Because this will never beat Gwonam's "You have raisen my blood presure!".

Don't get me wrong, I don't actually hate text-to-speech, but I always prefer sentence mixing over that. It just takes more effort, and that's what makes it work.
It can work, just gotta have the right ideas.

AI TTS should only be used as a last resort. And yes, that includes seeing if using Microsoft Sam to say the line is funnier before trying the AI

Maybe just use it sometimes for some unsaid words that are also hard to sentence mix without sounding too weird, or maybe when a character is intentionally made to stutter for the FUNNY. Just some simple optional advice for you.
Using Uberduck in your YTPs just seems like taking the lazy f--k's way out, and I'm glad that going forward, you're gonna be using good ol' sentence mixing from now(-ish) on.
Sure its more effort to do, but it's more... worth it, hearing a character say something they never said using spliced existing voice clips instead of them saying it using automatically generated clips you'd get after like 15 seconds on Uberduck.
It's like that TF2 SFM about AI vs Sentence Mixing, where the AI voice sounds way more boring, and the sentence mixed thing being as wacky as all hell, which is what gives these sorts of things their charm.
At least you’re being a relatively good sport about it. (Sentence mixing is funnier anyway)

Understandable. There’s never any humour or love in AI... That’s why a lot of voice actors and cartoon fans are outlawing this cursed BS, and it’s for the better.

AI voices have their places but personally, I don't really think it goes that well with ytps
Think my main problem with how you used uberduck was how you said "Both this and sentence mixing can work great together" and then you just...never did that. Like it was mostly sentence mixing or mostly uberduck, no combination in any sentences. If it was like how NPCarlsson did it where you used sentence mixing mostly and only used Uberduck for the words the character never said in their franchise, I can get that, but you just didn't do that and have some lines delivered by clean sentence mixing and some lines delivered by what's clearly a robot.
I mean... I did try experimenting with AI/sentence mixing in stuff outside of what I post, but no matter what I tried doing, or how much AI I tried using (whether it's for 1-2 words or AI heard for a split-second), it still stuck out pretty badly because of how noisy and robotic it sounds. Maybe it's just my ways of doing it that are flawed or it's a general issue with uberduck's sound quality, but honestly... idk at this point. Plus using AI voices in poops at all has slowly become more harder for me in general. Even when I try to be creative with it's uses and/or use it only at times when it's needed, it still ends up sounding tonally different; like I'm flip flopping between 2 channels on a tv. I'm pretty sure there's poopers out there that can do the AI/SM mashup better than me, but as for me specifically... I'm not really one of em. Maybe that could change if I keep trying in those 2 WIP poops I mentioned, but still. It's kinda hard to make a robot funny if everyone's response to it is just "...meh".
