The shoe closet makes no sense...would be easier to see them if they were displayed in the open... waste of plastic and extra effort to open a new bin whenever you want to put a pair of shoes on... just a hassle
I can’t believe you hid all her shoes behind boxes!!! I love mine organized by color and heel height on shelves and shoe racks so I can appreciate every pair, even when I am not wearing them.
Makes them SO much easier to find and coordinate what I need when I can see them too. In boxes, getting ready and completing an outfit would be very difficult.
Yes, that is what my grandmother use to do with Polaroids....also on her at boxes. These people are amateurs compared to that woman. my mother was right behind her. I swear I think I am not related when I look around my own home...
Lisa Gray It’s a waste only if the plastic containers are thrown away. I think the idea is they are permanent shoe containers. The labels can be removed and the boxes reused.
Sure, it all looks good when you've edited everything to only what fits. However. What no one ever addresses is things like - what if you buy boxes or cans of food that don't fit into your carefully-curated plastic bins? What if you need three cans of beans this week, instead of the two that will fit? What about the medicine cabinet? You have room for ONE bottle of cough syrup - but what happens when you get sick with one dose left in the bottle, and need more? Where do you put your replacement bottle until you've used up the first bottle? And what happens when you've carefully created room for the shampoo bottle you've always used - but then the manufacturer goes and changes the shape and size of the bottle, and now your organized shelf is completely shot to hell because it no longer fits AT ALL? No one ever seems to think of these things, or plan for them in houses like this - meanwhile, normal people have disorganized storage areas because these things are constantly in flux, because we're human, and life is messy.
The issue comes down to whether you know how to organize or not. A lot of normal people having busy everyday lives with kids still manage to organize their homes better than some of us. What I’m trying to say here is, when what you’re worry about extra stocks and places, actually there are ways that solves these, like having a dispenser that are craved in a place, whatever packages the manufacturer changes, you’re dispenser will fit in that spot, you just have an area for stocks where you put those items, same thing can be used for your other issues of having extra or having more stocks. Lives can be messy and we are not all motivated to organize, that’s why you have to get things straight for once and then dedicate just a few minutes everyday to keep things as they are in their place, a lot of people don’t realize that and therefore stock and misplace items all over the place and fooling themselves when they have a day off they will get on with it. As I’m trying very hard to get my home organized, I realized what I was doing was very wrong, I spent a lot of time getting nowhere and frustrated after a day long of cleaning, I now realize that in order to get organize, I firstly need to let things go, declutter then figure a place for everything, then all I have to do is try to keep things in their place, don’t buy more then the spaces are allowed for, cleaning have been way easier as I have less stuff to clean and organize, I’m still struggling with storage spaces and whenever I cleaned out a surface, my family always get new stuff on them, but I’m better at keeping certain part of the house organized than I was ever able to do. I’m also learning about interior and colors on Pinterest and RUclips, having a calm and cohesive color tone helps a lot also.
I can totally relate. There are lots of items that I would hate to run out of, so I keep a "back-up". My back-up storage is 3 bins in the bottom of my pantry, and they look messy, and they're always changing and piling up. I don't have storage space in my kitchen for back-up paper towels or spring water. There just isn't a spot for them, unless I stack them on the floor lol. So they're in the garage.....and I can't afford nice garage shelving right now, so they're stacked on the floor in there. And I spent an entire weekend decluttering and organizing & cleaning my garage, so it bugs the heck out of me even more than before! I think the solution is for someone to gift me garage shelving haha. I'm not gonna hold my breath...
That’s why you leave room for additional storage if you have overstock items. But the entire goal of organization is to be aware of where everything is placed and to minimize clutter/unnecessary items.
Sounds like she’s a single career woman, so no husband or kids to buy for. She travels a lot so who knows how often she can wash her clothes. Plus, it’s her life, her money, and her own business how she spends her money!
@@ndgrandma1818 didn't comment on the money she spent just the amount of clothing and accessories she has. I'm guessing not much of that doesn't get dry cleaned so washing probably isn't a worry.
She lives in NY! If you haven't lived where there are 4 (real) seasons as a professional with corporate wear, formal wear, casual wear and workout gear times 4 seasons plus add work-travel into the mix! Your clothes quickly add up! Judgey otherwise..... besides all the logic to why she may have more... what would an organization RUclips video be if the client didn't have lots of stuff to organize? 🤔
Very nice!! Best thing I ever did was take photos of each pair of my mom's shoes showing side and top view, then taped to the front of each box for her for Mother's day a few years ago. She still reminds me how much easier it made it for her to find her shoes without having to open boxes. Even for the clear boxes , it made it easier for her to know what was inside. She loves it.
Thank you so much Jamie! This video is greatly appreciated. After seeing many videos on Hoarders in western countries and the dumps they live in, it is absolutely refreshing to finally watch your video on a sample of home organization which is in my opinion par excellence! What a beautiful environment and I applaud the detailed organization that went into giving everything a home. Congratulations and Well done! I am an extremely organized and orderly person and I love being in a organized environment and I highly appreciate organized places. I hope your client was grateful that you gave her an exceptionally organized and fantastic home to live in.
My rule/tip for storage ....if the storage cabinet/closet space /shelf can hold 100... then only have 75.... never fill the space to capacity...looks better, and things are always more accessible....
Can't help thinking this client would find organising her stuff a lot easier if she had less stuff. I also can't imagine anyone maintaining the organisation created in this video.
This plastic storage system looks really cheap and DIY...like ikea boxes you can buy for a few dollars...I don't think I would want my expensive shoes living in plastic tumblers with cheap labelling...but that's just me
it would drive me nuts to go through every box to try on my shoes...even if you remember what they look like, you still want to put them on and change them if they don't go with your outfit. I'd like them on shelves but not in boxes.
I hope soon this client experiences something that opens her eyes to the difference between how much stuff she has and how much stuff she needs, and how much freer she would probably feel with less stuff.
I love the organization of it all and the fact that she travels a lot for work and I realize it's her money, but really how many pairs of shoes, sunglasses and purses does one woman need?
nice job, even tough, i personally would like more kitchen space and less closets, also more bathroom space, but i know, different lifestyles turn to different measures, and of course, you choose what you can with interior space :) it would be a nice addition to the video, if it's a new client, to have some lines about how she feels based on how organized it is now, and if it's more efficient or easy or brings peace or any personal small things, because it's one thing of you to say "she travels a lot so we made this closet organized with all the travel stuff" and the client saying, "i can always find everything when a sudden trip comes up, and i'm out the door in 30 minutes" or something similar. enjoy!
Oh my god You are my sister from another mother. I thought I was the only one who was so organised. I don’t have as many things as you but how I have them arranged in my house is just like you .... Love it 😇
I was just wondering unless the occupants are 7 ft. tall how they easily reach the items on the 2nd and top shelf in the overhead kitchen cabinets. Fantastic job organizing tho'.
Great job and great ideas. I have implemented a lot of these as this client and I seem to have a very similar lifestyle as well collection of items. Watched to get new tips in organizing all my bags after my COVID19 purchases. Thanks for the video.
If I could post a photo here you'd get to see my shoe closet. After purging 50% to reduce the footprint, I stored them on plastic shoe boxes labeled with typed tags too. The sense of satisfaction derived from organizing can't be equaled by much else. My 30 t-shirts and tank tops are rolled nested tightly against each other in color hues order. It's so easy getting ready in the morning.

Hi! I work at the container store (but am not speaking on behalf of the company). So the drawers are a part of the Avera system. It is a wall-based closet system that is meant to be a permanent solution. It is a great system, but it is a bit more involved (and pricey in my opinion) if you are just looking for accessory storage. I would highly recommend the Stackers Collection. They are a modular jewelry box solution with different sizes and styles to organize pretty much any jewelry you have. I like it because if my jewelry collection grows, I can add another stack! In the video, they have them placed inside of the drawers, which you can do but they also have pre-set organizers that can fit in a drawer too. Here is the link: www.containerstore.com/s/white-classic-stackers-premium-stackable-jewelry-box/d?productId=10035823&q=white%20classic%20stacker

stuff in boxes for me is long time stay in the box....everyday stuff i want to grab it ....wouldn't do any of it ...my is a litte messy due to lack ot room...closet too small...can you fix that ? and im short so nothng higher than me 5ft...
Go grief at least one of the shelves in the shoe closet could be shoes out of those shoe boxes. I know it’s a personal thing, but that closet seemed overwhelming, no where for the eye to rest. Pictures of the shoes would have been a nice option. I’ve done that and it was easier to find my shoes than those labels - especially the ones up higher.
The more things you possess the more difficult it is to keep them organized. Here they have done a great job. BT Shanyce Actually, no the shoes in plastic containers do not smell. I use plastic containers for pairs of my shoes that I don’t wear on a regular basis and want to preserve from dust. No odor. No degradation of the leather.
I think the shoe closet is a bit crazy and not functional I think displaying them so you can see what you have would work so much better instead of so many plastic containers would also be such a pain putting them away, would probably have the of season ones in containers but one that would be a draw so would be easy to access when in between seasons

It blows my mind how much closet space a lot of americans and canadians have in their homes. Why oh why do not the people who build homes in Europe do this?? Its such a good idea.
With that kind of money, why didn’t she just convert one bedroom / space for a walk in closet. Not judging how much stuff she has, but it’s just more stressful to go into so many diff rooms .... Also, really dislike the shoe closet haha
That would be great for someone like me, who really needs a lot of organizing help. But I’d need someone to help pick up everything I have been wearing, because I let it drop to the floor as I climb out of it. Oh, hey, I guess that means I’m a slob! There is no cure for that!
Looks great! I would have preferred an eco-friendly approach. Any plastic is too much plastic. We need to evolve and learn to work with materials that will not harm our earth.
i would love to see a home organizing video for us regular ppl who don’t have as much stuff. while the above looks great, it looks more like a boutique at the mall, than the avg home. i know lifestyle in Manhattan is not the norm, even though it might be nice 😇
Looks nice. Just my opinion..... Who needs that many shoes? Does she realize how many people she would be able to clothe and feed and really help? Maybe she is a philanthropist and is giving to others. In any case clean, organized spaces.
The shoe closet makes no sense...would be easier to see them if they were displayed in the open... waste of plastic and extra effort to open a new bin whenever you want to put a pair of shoes on... just a hassle
Keeping them in plastic also promotes dry rot. I lost 1/2 my shoes this way.
i agree but you could've been nicer expressing this
@@DCSquirrel OMG is that really true!?
Yes. Google Dry rot and how to prevent it. All materials need air or they begin to rot.
But it does look rlly nice and more satisfying imo

Well, I had mine in boxes and they rotted...so...
As I watching I was thinking the same thing. I like to see my bags and shoes. I would forget if they were stored in boxes.
God. You are such a diva. Get over yourself
I don't like it
A picture of the shoes added to the shoe boxes would be cute and make identifying the pair you're searching for much easier.
StaciMonster especially since it’s a sea of bins.
Yes, that is what my grandmother use to do with Polaroids....also on her at boxes. These people are amateurs compared to that woman. my mother was right behind her. I swear I think I am not related when I look around my own home...
Hat boxes!!
Or, now here's an idea, how about getting rid of anything over say 14 pairs of shoes??? Is she related to Imelda Marcos?
yes and less shoes to begin with... i can’t help thinking of the many ppl who are lucky to have one pair of shoes... 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
That looks stressful, so much stuff and so many containers. Crazy having boxes for shoes a big waste of plastic
Lisa Gray It’s a waste only if the plastic containers are thrown away. I think the idea is they are permanent shoe containers. The labels can be removed and the boxes reused.
@@jonwiley5549 There's no need to put shoes in plastic. They breathe better and are better stored without lots and lots of plastic.

As a minimalist, this stresses me tf out. I love how organized it is, but holy shit she has a lot of stuff.

So half her house is clothes, accessories and shoes🤤!
Not sure I would create a new label (and buy a container) with each new pair of shoes...
I need this woman in my home it nerds help ,that lady's house looks beautiful
Hi pretty lady. How are you doing today??
How tall is this woman? Couldn't reach any of this stuff and I am of average height!
It's a nicely organized home, but not the most organized home "ever". I've seen better.
Too much stuff...
Yes!
Way too much plastic. And realistically you have to put everything back right away. I just don’t see maintaining this
With that kind of money, why didn’t she just convert one bedroom / space for a walk in closet.
We need to evolve and learn to work with materials that will not harm our earth.
that lady must be making bank with a home that large in NYC
I wouldn't be able to reach half of those things....what do they do when people are short!
The only thing I disagreed with was the shoe situation. Shoes need to BREATHE.
Is it wrong that I hate the labels??
So do I! Reminds me of kindergarten!
Gotta say, not a fan of the labels 🤷♀️
Could be good though if she has someone helping her with shopping, housework. Which might totally be worth it if she is working VP hours.
Unbelievable!
😍😍😍
Those leather shoes need to breathe. Drill some holes in front and sides. Otherwise you will have mildew growing. Plastic should not be airtight.
No wire hangers!
Don't the shoes need to breathe?
It would be most helpful to label shoe boxes with a picture of the shoes inside. Adjective labels seem too subjective.
Hi pretty lady. How are you doing today??
That's too much stuff for me. Gives me a headache 😥
i would love to see a home organizing video for us regular ppl who don’t have as much stuff. while the above looks great, it looks more like a boutique at the mall, than the avg home. i know lifestyle in Manhattan is not the norm, even though it might be nice 😇
This client needs to read a book about help with being a hoarder...not plastic bins.
my question is how she's going to reach some of that stuff lol
Looks nice. Just my opinion..... Who needs that many shoes? Does she realize how many people she would be able to clothe and feed and really help? Maybe she is a philanthropist and is giving to others. In any case clean, organized spaces.
