I mean, why wouldn´t he? Always wondered, why this appears to be such a great deal in hip-hop, when there´s a ton of other musicians out there, making their own music.
@@elwray3506because hip hop has always come from electronic music and a lot of samples, and has been seen as black music. Black people have not had access to training, instruments, tutors, role models. I’m generalising but it’s a low back from the 60s 70s 80s black musicians weren’t even on tv very much. It’s hard to feel musical when music had been white-washed.
@@Chrisinpommyland Quite frankly, I don´t think that´s the case. Poor and marginalized as black communities have been, their musicality has never been in question. The blues scene back in the 1920-1940´s was overwhelmingly black and the equipemt was the same for everyone...grab a guitar or learn to play a piano (which was certainly way more expensive than a guitar). I really don´t think it´s a black thing, more of a hip-hop thing. On the other hand, collaborations on one track are quite a hip-hop thing, too. Sure, you´ll find some sort of a duett also in other genres, but inviting other artists to feature on your track, that sooo hip-hop.
Fun fact… Ren makes almost all of his own beats. Also, you said you missed the guitar but if you listen to the beat, he’s playing the guitar in the beat that he made for this song.
He actually has an acoustic version for many songs like genesis, animal flow, murderer and so on you could check it out 🙏 loved the reaction and thank you for the support on ren ❤️ *sorry for my English I’m from Portugal 😅
His videos are filmed in Brighton on the south coast of England where he lives. I've been lucky to see him perform on the streets of the city with his band The Big Push. The guy is so talented it's mind-blowing! You should check out his street performance doing a mashup of I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop. It shows his versatility. You definitely won't be disappointed. He can rap, sing, beatbox, plays guitar and piano, produces all his music. In fact his talent is unlimited. He plays all genres, therefore he can entertain everyone whether you're into rap, reggae, ska, punk or metal. Absolute genius. I'm a 57 year old Goth who NEVER got into rap and now there's this local guy that I HAVE to listen to every bloody day 😂. Enjoy the Ren rabbit hole because there's no coming back 😊
He is a top sound engineer, he loves his "Logic program" on his Apple computer/laptop rig for mixing and matching his beats/voice. He has videos of him like 10 or so years ago mixing his own music and I swear he had one of the first "Logic" programs back then. He did buy a few beats over the years, even though he still remixed them and put his add -ons, otherwise he makes his own beats.
You're correct Ren does it all, writes, produces, mixes and has major part in alot of the videos, so to answer your earlier question... there's nothing Ren CANT do 😂
It's my favorite too!! Check out Murderer and Murderer (Live Acoustic Video) - in this order. You'll be surprised again and again ... Love your reaction!
"Pupils dilate in the dark. People die late in the dark". Always been a favourite of mine. Commenting to add to your algorithms... Loving the reactions ❤ Next...
😂 Ren makes every single sound you hear! And all the sounds you missed and will discover as you listen over and over again! Welcome to this awesome obsession! Ren is an artist of a lifetime! I am just waiting for you to see the live version! I won’t ruin it for you!!!
Most definitely check out his songs Animal Flow, Murderer, and Troubles the official music video's but then watch the acoustic versions. They're all amazing.
This is REN’s own beats. He’s been making beats at home from the age of 12 and selling them at festivals in England. He oozes talent. Nice reaction, thanks!
With Ren. Doesn’t matter whom you are, how you found him, or why one connects to him…he has a level of honesty everyone can relate to. And the crazy thing, some of that connection will simmer in your chest, and then one day, maybe the 100th listen, it clicks.
The man is just a ARTIST first and foremost. My love for REN and Tom Macdonald. My 2 most favorite independent artists for sure. Love that you’re covering them both.
Ooooh...a treat! I missed this one! "Pupils dilate in the dark, people die late in the dark" stuck with me for days. I'd flip my pillow in my sleep and those lines were still running through me. Loving this ride with you ✌️
someone may have suggested it already, but if you want a bit of a window into what a lovely human Ren is, check out his thank you video for 1 million subscribers. I often wonder at his ability to remain so himself, but I suppose that’s part of what he’s teaching us about being ourselves too. He really is an unusual artist and person. Ty for your reactions!
I really hope that people here "oh oh oh not me me" is to symbolsizes his trust that he can do better. Even with trials and tribulations with his illness. He won't give up.❤
Loved this, thank you! ❤ And yes, he does make his own beats. And most of his videos are one takes. Heres another suggestion Ren & Sam Tompkins "Blind Eyed" feat Angry Car Park Attendant ;-) ty!
I’m really enjoying watching you go down the Ren rabbit hole, keep going!! There’s SO much, and a variety. You should watch him with The Big Push - shot the sheriff/zion/hip hop performance. Live, guitar, amazing. Covers, but shows off some more of the talent and it’s just a fun one!
Love your reaction man, again 👍 Genesis, top 3 of my Ren's songs. And yeah, he's making his own beats... The lyrics are insane ! Check now I'm losing it ... Rap rap on a crazy beat ... Bars bars 😂 And you'll see him sing sing, with his band The Big Push 😉 Fun stuff coming 😉 Thanks 😘
Ren was also in a a band called the Big push and I love their covers my two favorite is bongo bong and when he combines I Shot the Sheriff/road to Zion/hip hop. I know you would love it.
I'm sure a billion folks have already said it, but yeah, ...his beats...Joe, his personal medical backstory, not to mention the 1 takes, independent label, flows, bars, diversity... Aside from all of that, I'm really looking forward to your Ren (& duet partners/band associates etc. reactions.). The rabbit hole has outstanding underground forks in the tunnels like The Big Push, Trick The Fox, Romain Axis, Chinchilla, Sam Tompkins.... etc. I love watching your content. Thank you. Can't wait to explore more.
Ren has been playing piano since he was ten, untrained. You can see him playing in many videos, most recently in Mackay, filmed in Alberta, Canada. MG3 has won video awards in Britain, and was co-directed by Ren and his friend, Samual Perry-Falvey.
BTW Bro have you seen him on the grand piano yet? No kiddin he plays the piano like a master concert hall pianist. Ren is music full stop! ❤from D in the UK 🇬🇧
Your are quickly becoming one of my favorite reactors, your reactions are like a couple of buddies hanging out listening to music. If your want to hear vocals and Guitar Skill check out Rens's old Band - The Big Push - I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop
He makes the beats and writes the lryics its unusual with everyone you hear being industry owned. Its 1 of many reasons he has chosen to remain independent
If you're after some more stellar live performances, you can't miss the two live tracks he's done with Chinchilla - Chalk Outlines (ruclips.net/video/35yALr_opeg/видео.html) and How To Be Me (ruclips.net/video/SDR7sup3DsU/видео.html). Singing rather than rapping, but the harmonies are something else.
-I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/HipHop mashup w/ The Big Push (8:00 min video) -Back on 74/Message in a bottle retake -Chalk Outlines live w/Chinchilla -Murderer -Power -Ren & Sam Tompkins Earned It / Man’s World / Falling -Money Game parts 1-3 -Illest of Our Time -Animal Flow -Bongo Bong w/ The Big Push -What you Want -Halftime (Nas Retake) -Seven Sins -Humble -Love Music parts 1-4 -Hold On There is great older stuff and newer stuff off of his Sick boy album. I could have kept going. Enjoy this diverse rabbit hole that keeps just going.
He is definitely different! Lol. U ain't even entered the rabbit hole yet brother! I don't know if you have heard of Prof but check out rens colab with him called pain salesman. Or rens retake of Nas halftime
There is another reactor who coined a phrase about Ronnie Radke and his versatility: "Ronnie can Music". I strongly feel that this applies to Ren also. Ren can Music. As you said, not sure I can think of something he can't do, especially after learning he taught himself his instrumental skills. This is also a one-take with the background noise removed. He spoke about it in an interview saying he nearly got hit by a few cars filming it :)
Illest of Our Time next...or Seven Sins...or him playing w his band The Big Push live busking in the streets w covers like I Shot the Sheriff/ Road to Zion/ hip hop
Ren started out just making beats but he couldn't find
any rappers where he lived, so he started rapping over his own beats.

He did and does make the beat(s)!
True story- it was him beatboxing on The Hunger...
One more thing....every ren song will be your new fave!😅❤
"I gotta hear more" spoken like a true Renegade 😊
He actually has an acoustic version for many songs like genesis, animal flow, murderer and so on you could check it out 🙏 loved the reaction and thank you for the support on ren ❤️ *sorry for my English I’m from Portugal 😅
this^^ you can see him do it live and it's a whole different thing. I love genesis as is tooo
Your English is just fine. 💜
It may be your favourite Ren song now, but chances are that will change lol 🙃 I can’t even pick a top 5!
FACTS!!
💯
I can only place one Ren song as an absolute favorite and that's Patience. Everything else is a toss up.

An example of just how Ren can change things up is the acoustic version of Genesis.
Same song, WAY different feel.
This is one of my favourite Ren songs - it has such a unique groove
Love Ren's music and love anyone elae who loves Ren's music! ❤❤❤

I'd vote for "Back on 74 / Message in a Bottle Retake" - fire reaction!
You're correct Ren does it all, writes, produces, mixes and has major part in alot of the videos, so to answer your earlier question... there's nothing Ren CANT do 😂

He makes his own beats, producing, etc. He does it all. He created a new genre. The Ren genre. He is so original. True artist.
Two stages of any new Ren song are 1) Oh no, this is really different to the last one I loved! 2) Oh wow, this is so different, I love it. 😂
He makes all his own music every beat every verse
Except the fisher beat and the Nas tribute he did, if I’m not mistaken those are the only 2 I can think of. But he makes that known in both.
@@VaingloryArk-h4w correct
Ren makes the beats, sound effects , piano, guitar, lyrics and mixes his music. Modern day Bard.
Wow, you're one of the few reactors who get the "Tongue is a gun, is a weapon" part 👏
Love your reactions! 🧡
The acoustic version is its own vibe and both are fun

Found you fondling my NF, and now here you are Reacting to my Ren. Gonna have to start calling you family......love your stuff . Much Love
Ren has been playing piano since he was ten, untrained. You can see him playing in many videos, most recently in Mackay, filmed in Alberta, Canada. MG3 has won video awards in Britain, and was co-directed by Ren and his friend, Samual Perry-Falvey.
Losing it needs to be your next Ren exploration.

The most recent Ren song you listened to is always your favorite, until the next one. 🙂
The chorus beat reminds me so much of Patience by Damien Marley & NAS. Ren is a genius!
Definitely worth checking out the live version of Genesis…..think that is my favourite version of this track 💜🔥
His best song! The beat, the switches, the lyrical topic (horrifying), the composition... only flaw, it's too short! Good reaction :D
What a fun reaction, I know every line hitting with that "Bro" right in the heart.
I’m here for the Ren journey, can’t wait for more! 🫶🏻
❤. My favorite Ren song is always the last one I listened to. Respect, great reaction!
My absolute FAVORITE 🦾
He makes his own beats. Pure 🔥 🔥 🔥

yeah he produced the music
If you like him with just a single guitar chalk outlines, and how to be me are powerful
Loving your REN journey, so much more to come 🙏
You have not even met all of ren's pockets. Musicians have their lanes while Ren owns the entire freeway
There is nothing he cannot do ❤❤❤
There is an acoustic version of this as he does with a lot of his tracks.
I can't wait to watch when you get to the sick boi album
Thanks for the reactions :)
He makes the beats - even losing it is reworking of the original.
You missing him playing the guitar?
It's him playing the guitar which is the melody of the beat that he indeed did make!
Yelawolf and Caskey- Just the intro
This video is also a one take. Many of his videos are which is a crazy level of skill and artistry.
