Yes its fun to work with wheels, hubs, spokes. I have also rebuilt a lot of wheels. Tip: with a lathe you can re-grind the pitted bearing hubs and conus but then you have to use new steel bals.
Brilliant this is what i needed the freewheel can be adapted to a ebike that has no big threads and the smaller screw one u shown screws into the outer axle as im lookin foe a ebike
Its the best video ive came accross yet explaining and showing the parts and what they do and how to work them cheers ive watched loads of stupid vids teyna get the rite hub to suit my ebike wheel as it came with no threading so its like a frontwheel ebike but its clearly larger axle on one side but ill still be on ly able to fit a 567 id be glad with 5 to be honest once im not ghost cycling i dont mind 👍subbed
Thank you for an informative video. You'll be pleased to know that an old dog like me can learn new tricks, in particular the ball bearing extraction using a HD magnet 👍. I'm a stubborn ol' bugger, I've been using my beloved XT thumbies on an 8 speed cassette. It does work with the extra click, as I'm sure you well know, but I'm having to fine tune it too often. So I'm going to downgrade back to a 7 speed cassette. Now where did I put that spacer? Cheers mate. 👍
Someone suggested on my xt thumshifter video, the possibility of dremeling an extra groove (interior plate) to make a real 8th click. I recall checking if it was possible, can’t remember…food for thought
Road bike 7 speed rear axle hub spacing is usually 126mm, not 135mm. Mountain bikes do start at 135mm for 7 speed, so this method will only work for mountain bikes.
It can go up to 12 speeds if you want to buy a cassette out of the Shimano ecosystem. Lots of manufacturers make 12 speed HG cassettes, I've installed them numerous times
If it has a 8 speed cassette, it likely will hold 9/10 speed. I tried 11 speed recently, only issue was tightening the locknut. The tool couldn’t go deep enough to properly tighten (its another video coming eventually)@@the_nondrive_side

Yesss, read about people doing this before. Just need more space to install one in my living room.
Thanks for this! It's great to see some of these options, keeping these vintage bikes going!

I've been co stipulating moving from a 3x7 to 1x11, thanks for the info.
I love your content, greetings from Taller el Litre, Valparaiso, Chile.

Nice thank you for this. I've been meaning to do this on my Pulstar hubs. Should be the same procedure ang all right?

That was a clear and thorough explanation. Thanks for the video.
Untuk original paralax maksimal berapa speed cassete
what do i do if my cassette spline housing is wobbly, the wheel and axle are fine. Just a wobbly cassette spline housing.
The freehub body you mean? Replace it
If you can put an 8-speed on, it will also take up to 11-speed. Don't have to stop at 10.
Yeh I tried recently, it works.

Like sunrace 12s for example?
nicely explained. thanks!
well this answers two of my wheels.. but I'm looking at my 2021 norco indie 4 and an 8 speed 26" wheel with a joyride hub and wondering
Quick search : norco indie 4 is set up with a 1X7 drive train. Joyride hubs seem to be Single speed?
@@atboy4342 I have a joyride hub from another bike with a disc and 8 speed cassette. I actually have another similar to check also

@@atboy4342 dumbass... the 7 speed carrier won't.. so I need to swap to an 8.. stop talking dummy
Ok but when building the wheel,...Wheel dishing would be an issue for sure
