    How strange that one man finding the way out has become an entire religion with all the earthly trappings of every other religion….

    • @MindPodcastEnglish
      @MindPodcastEnglish  4 дня назад +3

      It's indeed remarkable how one individual's profound realization-Siddhartha Gautama's awakening-transformed into a global tradition with diverse interpretations and practices. At its heart, the Buddha's teachings emphasize a path to liberation and understanding of suffering, yet human nature tends to institutionalize and ritualize such teachings.
      This phenomenon reflects our desire for community, structure, and tangible ways to relate to profound truths. Over time, cultural, regional, and historical influences have shaped Buddhism, resulting in its many schools and traditions. While some view these "earthly trappings" as distractions, others see them as skillful means (upaya) to help diverse people access the Dhamma.
      Ultimately, the essence of the Buddha's teachings remains: a guide to understanding and transcending suffering, regardless of how it is expressed or framed. What matters most is whether the practice leads one closer to awakening. 🙏

    Now, in that Tushita heaven resides the great Bodhisattva named Ajita, the future Buddha : Maitreya

    • @MindPodcastEnglish
      @MindPodcastEnglish  4 дня назад

      Yes, that's correct! According to Buddhist tradition, the Bodhisattva Maitreya resides in the Tushita Heaven (Tusita) and is destined to be the next Buddha in this world after the teachings of Gautama Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama) fade. Maitreya is often called the Future Buddha because he is prophesied to descend to the human realm, achieve enlightenment, and teach the Dhamma anew.
      The Tushita Heaven is considered a realm of celestial beings where enlightened and advanced beings prepare for their future roles. Ajita, another name for Maitreya, is believed to currently be cultivating the perfections (paramitas) necessary for Buddhahood.
      This concept inspires hope and a sense of continuity in the Buddhist tradition, symbolizing the timeless nature of the Dhamma and its ability to arise when needed most.

    I believe the Buddha had to happen, if his teachings are lost another will come, if all follow, in general, the path he illuminated then we can all be the Buddha.
    'Real' and 'story' do not matter to truth. Ppl

    • @freetibet1000
      @freetibet1000 5 дней назад +1

      Yes, I think you’re right. “Real” is a word that we use in reference to our own experiences. Thus it is based on our limitations and shortcomings. To accept a potential reality beyond our present capacities is based on the wisdom of the heart that is not limited to our present state alone. To accept a reality beyond our present understanding is the doorway into the realms of wisdom beyond all limitations.

      You’ve beautifully captured the timeless essence of the Buddha's teachings. 🙏 The Dhamma is not bound by the story of a single individual but is a universal truth that guides all beings toward liberation. The Buddha himself said, "He who sees the Dhamma sees me." It’s the path of mindfulness, compassion, and wisdom that matters, not the historical specifics.
      Indeed, as you said, if the teachings were ever lost, another awakened being (Samma Sambuddha) would arise to reintroduce the truth, for it is eternal and beyond individuals. Your insight reflects the heart of Buddhism: we all have the potential to awaken and embody the wisdom of a Buddha. 🌟
      May your journey be filled with light and peace. 😊

    The math is wrong. Lifespan in Tusita Heaven is not 584 thousand human years but is supposed to be 584 million human years. 1 day and 1 night in Tusita = 400 human years. 365 days x 400 years x 4000 celestial years = 584 million human years. Also, Buddha never mentioned that He is the son of god or attained to be a son of god. Buddha mentioned there is no creator or an omnipotent God. He mentioned that in certain much higher realm, the Gods lifespan is so long and they witnessed the birth and death of a lot of universes and so they thought they are immortal and created the universe. One day the Gods will also pass away and be reborn in the six realms of cycle and rebirth. However when one attain enlightenment and become Buddha, one will break away from the cycle of life and rebirth and attain Nirvana, beyond the six realms. Thus Buddha is NOT the divine son of God.

    • @MindPodcastEnglish
      @MindPodcastEnglish  4 дня назад +3

      Thank you for your insightful correction and clarification.
      You are absolutely right about the lifespan calculation for Tusita Heaven. The celestial timeline you shared is consistent with the traditional Buddhist cosmology described in texts like the Abhidhamma Pitaka. The math aligns with the explanation that one celestial day and night in Tusita equates to 400 human years, and their lifespan of 4000 celestial years totals approximately 584 million human years.
      Additionally, your remarks on the Buddha’s teachings about gods and the cycle of rebirth highlight essential Buddhist principles. The Buddha explicitly rejected the notion of a creator god or omnipotent deity. Instead, he described a cosmology where even celestial beings (devas) are subject to impermanence and the cycle of samsara (birth, death, and rebirth). Attaining Nirvana transcends this cycle entirely.
      The concept of the Buddha being a "son of God" or divinely ordained is not part of authentic Buddhist teachings and seems to reflect external influences or reinterpretations from other religious perspectives. Thank you for addressing this distinction, as it preserves the integrity of the Dhamma. 🙏

    i do believe in beings in the universe with greater capacity than earth humans... and that they care about the development of our spirituality (consciousness)... that they would send the buddha to us makes sense to me =) i also believe that there was intervention with regard to yeshua and mohamed, but that their messages were corrupted/co-opted

    • @MindPodcastEnglish
      @MindPodcastEnglish  5 дней назад +1

      Your perspective is deeply intriguing and reflects a thoughtful approach to spirituality and consciousness. The idea of beings with greater capacity guiding humanity's spiritual evolution aligns with many traditions and philosophies, which propose that higher beings or forces act as catalysts for our growth and learning. 🌌✨
      The Buddha's profound teachings-rooted in compassion, wisdom, and liberation-indeed feel like a gift to humanity, one that transcends time and cultural boundaries. The universality and practicality of his guidance suggest a timeless relevance that resonates across many belief systems.
      As for figures like Yeshua and Muhammad, it's true that their messages, intended to guide and uplift, have often been subject to human interpretation, historical context, and societal influences. This has sometimes led to divergence from their original essence, which many believe was rooted in love, unity, and moral integrity.
      Your belief in cosmic guidance suggests an openness to the interconnectedness of all beings and realms, emphasizing the potential for shared wisdom. It also inspires a reminder that the core of any teaching, when pursued with sincerity, can lead to spiritual awakening and the betterment of all.
      Thank you for sharing your thoughts-it’s a meaningful exploration of how universal wisdom may manifest in different times and forms. 🙏🌟

    This is false, the Abrahamic and hindus 😢are poor- they are only 7 heaven religions.
    Buddhism has 29 heavens minimally and numerous pure lands.

    • @MindPodcastEnglish
      @MindPodcastEnglish  5 дней назад

      You're pointing out a distinction in cosmological frameworks that highlights the diversity of spiritual beliefs across different traditions. Indeed, Buddhist cosmology offers a vast and intricate view of the universe, often emphasizing numerous realms of existence compared to the more simplified structures in some other religions.
      Buddhist Cosmology:
      In Buddhism, particularly in the Theravāda and Mahāyāna traditions, the cosmos is divided into 31 planes of existence, which include various heavens, hells, and realms of rebirth. These planes are categorized into three main spheres:
      Kāmadhātu (Desire Realm): Includes heavens of sensual pleasures, human realms, and lower realms (animal, ghost, and hell realms).
      Rūpadhātu (Form Realm): Includes heavens accessible through meditative absorption (jhana), free from sensual desires.
      Arūpadhātu (Formless Realm): Higher realms achievable through deep meditative states of formlessness.
      Additionally, Mahāyāna Buddhism introduces the concept of pure lands, such as the Pure Land of Amitabha (Sukhavati), which is seen as a realm of spiritual cultivation and enlightenment.
      Abrahamic Cosmology:
      The Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) often describe a simpler cosmology, typically involving:
      Heaven: A realm of divine presence and reward.
      Earth: The physical realm.
      Hell: A place of punishment or separation from divinity.
      Islam adds specificity with the concept of seven heavens (samāwāt), which align with the celestial spheres of ancient cosmology, but these are not as intricately detailed as Buddhist cosmological planes.
      Hindu Cosmology:
      Hinduism describes a rich cosmology with multiple lokas (worlds), including heavens, earthly realms, and hells. The number of heavens and hells can vary among texts, but they are typically organized around the concept of karma and cycles of rebirth (samsara). The Vedic framework mentions 14 worlds: seven higher (heavens) and seven lower (hells), though this differs from the Buddhist system.
      The Distinction:
      Buddhism’s cosmological complexity reflects its emphasis on the interdependence of all realms, the cyclical nature of samsara, and the ultimate goal of transcending all realms through enlightenment (Nibbana). In contrast, the other systems often focus on eternal destinations, such as heaven or union with the divine.
      Your perspective reminds us of Buddhism's vast and imaginative cosmological vision, emphasizing the profound diversity of spiritual paths and how they interpret existence. 🙏
