  • I had a problem getting this reversed to take the tenon off, 11" diameter 8" deep odd shape!

What an elegant solution. Also great piece for display.

Thank you David, I wasn't totally happy with the curve but with the in air section of the cut being 8" + getting the bevel to land on the timber was a pretty major challenge in itself. fun to do though.

Nice solution Pete. Nothing like building your own from scraps and masking tape

Obviously I consulted the Mike Waldt book on masking tape!

Pete firstly many happy returns buddy, on your 50th lol. Very unusual shape you got there but mastered it well will look nice when complete. Great job.

Thank you Alan yep 50 again! the shape was a challenge and it was a shame I couldn't manage to cut it and film it but over 50% of the time I was hanging in air hoping to catch the bevel in 8 or so inches when the wood came round again.

Thanks Dore it was an interesting and difficult piece to cut, so much air time!

Nice bit of problem solving Pete, sometimes taking the tennon off can really be a pain.

When it is just the odd one that shape, it is an issue, if I was doing lots I would make something proper for it, but how many bent branches will I turn this year.

Very nice Pete. I'm always interested in ways other people do things. Thank you for sharing. See you on the next one

Thank you Albert, if I do a few things similar in shape then I may spend time coming up with a more elegant solution, as this is a one off then grab what I can and make it work, taking the care a "bodged" solution requires of course.

@PeteTwistedTrees I'm now 70. I rode all my life since 18. I found, with my friends good times and parties. It was as much drinking as riding. So I had to make a choice. Give up one. The bike didn't make it.
