This phone has a higher megapixel selfie camera, bigger battery, even sound distribution through the speakers. They brought back the speaker in the ear instead of the in screen speaker. This phone will be exciting
Please do give this a solid review when it comes out. I have been rocking the similar LG V50 Dual Screen as my daily driver, which I had to order and import from South Korea. Trust me, Michael, as a power user, the second screen will become a godsend for you, and after using it for a week or two, I think you will agree, Samsung should make a product like this for their Note series devices. This mere accessory is a literal game changer from power user paradise. Your attention on this product, as a prominent voice in this space, could really help convince the industry of what I have learned, and what you would certainly learn as well if you give this device a fair shake; the Dual Screen setup is a quality of life improvement unrivaled by anything else.
I say review it. LG is usually lacking behind Samsung and Samsung will for sure get more hype around their fixed fold but this is LG actually trying something so I think it's worth a look
I think this actually looks better, well, more practical than the fold... Eccept for that glass front, that looks kind of tacky. Please review this, Mr.Mobile.
I think sometimes u are too harsh on companies who are trying to do something new. I totally liked the product and i think its a step in a right direction.
With all the issues Samsung has had with the Fold, I actually really like this concept. Definitely something that would be more robust in the short term while foldables continue to evolve.
I actually kinda like the look of that. It seems a lot more practical and useful than the Galaxy Fold. The fact that you can make one half the keyboard or a game pad is a great sign. Oh, and I have the G8. It may not be the most exciting design ever, but it takes excellent pictures and lets you do really good things in manual mode.
This phone is going to be a beast. Dual screen bundled WITH the phone, 32mp front camera for 4k video (finally for LG), AMSR (whisper) recording, in-display fingerprint reader, and they kept the freaking awesome headphone jack audio as well! Coming to the US in November for only $700 unlocked w/ the extra screen. LG did good on this one for sure!
I would honestly love to see a review of the G8X along with the case. I love novelty stuff, and I also want to see LGs new interface, because LG is the only Android skin I was never a fan of and it was overdue for a reskin
I find LG phones to be underrated so I personally would appreciate a review so yes please. The question I have is if the glass mirror finish on the outside cracks does the inside screen still work?
This is really good for multi-tasking, I like the concept. It is more affordable and Idea is great. This is more practical solution until foldable smartphones are affordable and reliable.
A review would be great. This may be the safest way to go when it comes to folding phones. Concerned on how the external display affect the battery life though. Probably won't be good.

It's almost certainly so the selfie cam can shine through the case... Though using the selfie cam without a screen to see the selfie is as pointless as the notch itself.. so yeah basically it's for nothing... Much like the selfie cam on any phone I buy anyways :)
I hope you realise that the notch exists because both panels were pulled from the same production line. It doesn't make sense to have a separate production line for a notchless display. Plus it maintains the symmetry.
Do it, Mike. Please. As a current user of an imported V50 Dual Screen, I can tell you, the multitasking upgrade of running with a second screen is an absolute game changer, which you, out of all the popular reviewers, will most appreciate. The V50 is a little rough around the edges, and the G8x seems like a minimal improvement in some regards, and a bit of a downgrade in others, almost as if it is a prototype. but as such, from the perspective of someone that is is daily driving a dual screen, it's the proof of concept of an idea that I do think could revolutionize the smartphone world. People are going to realize that the hype around the folding phone was misplaced; it WON'T help increase productivity. But a Dual Screen setup, especially if you are running the third party app "island." It isn't the polished product that you'll want it to be, but you'll see something in it, a flash of brilliance, the possibility of a whole new paradigm. And i fully believe that you'll come to see why two displays is undeniably superior to a single, large, deployable display, and find yourself salivating over the dream of one day holding a Galaxy Note Dual Screen, thinking about the possibilities IT could offer. The Industry as a whole needs you, your sensible power user persective and insight, and your eloquent, articulate voice for the task. The whole tech community is about to take a very disheartening hit when (even with price and durability concerns ignored) the Fold turns out to be an utter pain to use, and THAT hype bubble bursts. I'm typing this on one screen, while my other screen is playing netflix. when I'm done, I'll find another youtube video to play while I simultaneously type up an admittedly overdue email, and If i need to hunt up links for it, I can do it without the pain of ordinary app switching. It is truly a game changer, and I hope you will give it a good, long look.
I'm always interested in LGs because they're basically the only ones sticking a quality dac in their phones / keeping the headphone jack! I'd love a review of this one, if it doesn't disappoint this might be my next phone.

i really wish samsung had thought about this for their samsung DEX feature when connecting to an external screen. you can have a desktop experience in you pocket.
Yup, wanna see the review. Since most flagships are dropping the headphone jack looks like LG would be the only option I'll consider in the future. And this feature makes it even more appealing in terms of productivity.
I purchased one of these phones, through AT&T last week and I really like it. Honestly, though, I don't really use the second screen all that often. Partially due to time constraints and partially because the apps that work on two screens aren't ones I use often and/or the two-screens-at-once option isn't necessary or optimal. Having said that, I like that I can pop the phone out of the dual screen case and carry the phone around like any other. The price is rather nice too as AT&T did not charge extra for the dual screen case. Finally, the one thing I really do not like is the charger for when the phone is in the dual screen case. While the magnetic connection may seem strong, it is easily disturbed and the phone often times go off charging mode without the user realizing it. If you're going to charge it this way, make sure to lay it flat and leave it alone. Just my thoughts. Thank you for your review and efforts Mike. Really enjoy your channel
