Countdown pedestrian lights didnt exist until 2005. Are you talking about the pedestrian housing it self?

They did exist before 2005 and this is an old chirp sound. The pedestrian housing is a standard hand/man housing and this pedestrian signal actually used to be a worded pedestrian signal with the others being standard hand man back in the 1980s and then since then it was changed to a countdown in 1985.

@Trafficlightsiosandmore Again, countdown pedestrian signals did not exist until 2005. It was worded pedestrian signals everywhere in 1985 with either neon or incandescent lighting.

@@Trafficlightsiosandmore That's right. LED can go in old pedestrian housings, but LED countdowns themselves didn't exist until 2005.

@@sandiegotrafficlightstrain354 I never knew that the countdown pedestrian signal was introduced in 2005 and it was rare during that time, but it’s getting a lot more common now. I kept on thinking that it existed before 2005. do you believe that pedestrian sign should be manufactured to be worded countdowns.
