Thanks for posting. My circulation pump stopped. I took motor filter out, and unclogged. Working like a charm again! You saved me some $.

I can confirm from doing research on this same problem that others have solved this issue simply by cleaning and re-installing that screen. Another thing. These filters will not tolerate paper fibers such as the stickers on the bottom of new glasses, cups, plates, bowls.

Juat going through this with the same model. Ill try to remenber to come back. The motor is very hot but doesnt smell like a burnt motor so im gonna wait for everything to cool down and try cleaning everything.
Edit: took apart the motor. Got the little filter out. Cleaned the motor intake blades (not too bad)
The filter was really bad (make sure people aren't putting labeled glass jars in the machine! My pump filter was basically a harry potter book)
Put it all back together and it runs fine! Thank you for saving me an easy $400 on parts not including labour ♡

It's definitely not a good filter design. Thank you! Just took it apart, cleaned it, and put it back together. Motor is still good. Saved me $250 to $400.

How do I get that out? I don’t see it even when I took screws out.

There has to be a way to clean out that filter. I had a different one and I could take it apart and clean out all the gunk and slime. Ur telling we can’t access this from inside dishwasher. That silly little triangle filter will do nothing to stop stuff… looks like poor design

Its such a bad filter design. Ive only had mine a little over a year and all kinds of problems now

Appreciate it bro! Opened up my main pump motor and the internals came apart jamming the motor and also causing to severely overheat. Luckily I’m within the 2 year warranty, God bless!

Also you SHOULD make sure the water is hot at the sink before you turn on your dishwasher.

Do you know if you have to take the motor out to get to that filter or can you just lay the dishwashe on its back and pull that out

Did you have to pull the dishwasher out to replace the motor? We are having the same issue. Hopefully I'll be able to clean and test prior to ordering a new motor

Did the motor work after you cleaned it? I’ve got a slightly different Maytag but same filter thing. I wonder if I can try this as it randomly throws an E1 F9 at me

Since the motor was still covered under the warranty, the repairman just gave us a new motor so I don't know if the old motor worked after it was cleaned

Can you remove that without pulling dish washer out from counter ?

    • @mysillysquirts2907
      @mysillysquirts2907  Месяц назад +1

That should significantly decrease the likelihood. That is what we try to do now to avoid this problem again.

  • @Jack51971

Just cleaned it on mine. This was the problem. Key is make sure you rinses your dishes before putting in the machine. Took me about 11 hours...however if I ever had to replace it...easy now that I took it out twice and out it back twice. The filter in the tub should be a reusable coffee filter type mesh! The one on there traps little! 😡

Its plugged because there is stuff that should not be run through the dishwasher. Lots of labels from jars, napkins, toothpicks.

e1f9 means it's either draining too slowly or not at all.

8:10 pm. 3 years in. Do not buy. Went to Home Depot today. Whirlpool to replace.

Whirlpool also owns Maytag. Whirlpool also owns Kitchen Aid. I have seen Whirlpool, Kitchen Aid, and Maytag dishwashers that all look the same inside. The difference is price, and rebranding the same machine. I had three Kitchen Aid dishwashers all made by Whirlpool. The last one failed. I replaced it with a Maytag with a different circulation pump design. Now I finally have a machine that actually works. Kitchen Aid used to be the king of all Cadillacs when it came to dishwashers. Now after owning three of them, the Maytag I got works better.

Please please please, everybody that has this design of dishwasher write the Whirlpool company and give them a piece of your mind. This is ridiculous, that a corporation like Whirlpool will make this terrible design of a dishwasher. All it does is cost consumers money money money. That micro screen should be inside the dishwasher. All appliance manufacturers have there heads up there *****. Appliance Engineers should work as a service technician for 3 years before they design an appliance. I'm done ranting.

why do people have dishwashers. to wash dishes right. so then why must you wash the dishes before you put them in the dishwasher makes no sense to me.

    • @HugoMars07

You need to scrape any large particles of food with every dishwasher but you don't need to rinse. No home dishwasher today is made to also act as a food disposal.
