Well, for your knowledge and expertise I expected more facts than speculations as the movie was premiered recently for most of the Tamil film makers and their views are already on air. I believe its purely a single shot movie but ofcourse they mentioned that they did like many single shot retakes not in the very first attempt, also mentioned Parthiban showed how they made the film before the movie starts as most of us won't believe and that making of the film portion got more applause. In another interview he mentioned that the success of this attempt itself is people saying that there is no way that this movie is taken in a single shot. But despite of all this so far I know when its comes to film making there is no reason for a maker like Parthiban to claim something that he didn't do. Also in James Vasanthans review of the movie he mentioned Pathiban conceived the story and concept for 10 years, did 2 years pre-production work especially for cinematography and during the shoot they did the single take 23 times and before the final single take in the 22 single take they had to redo the from the first minute as something went wrong when it was just 9 minutes left to finish. Also mentioned the camera crew itself half of the whole team. We always try not to accept when someone locally from our place does something exceptional and claim it but easy to digest when a westerner does without a doubt. Why I say this ? In this video from 2.00 you've given loads of examples for how they would have hidden the cuts to make it feel like single shot but not one example for possibly how they would have employed techniques to actually nail it. (That's the whole emotion of writing this comment, why you didn't say possibly hoe they would have done it in a single shot 🙂) I guess the claim would have been easily received if so called big shots like rajamouli,shankar manirathan pc sreeram, rajiv menon...... were involved to attempt this. Honestly as much as I love your videos , recently with the cinematography series I feel that you are inclined for your favourites or speculatuons. I know you can't be the fact checker for everything. I expected the cinematography series to learn more on how they really did it than wondering. I may be wrong but I thought of saying it. Cheers.

If the actual technique is straightforward single shot, I’ll be happier because I am already happy for this attempt (even if it was cut like Birdman or 1917). I have booked my tickets for this Friday. Hoping to be blown away by the output. Wishing them well. Many technical videos are usually hidden gems in RUclips. XH2S try paNNadhillainga.. BMPCC4K is a great camera with AF limitations . But for cinematography, AF is not a must have feature. Will test the XH2S and make a video
No Bro.... Looks like it is completely taken in one shot. they have got the full footage on that entire 96 mins. It means the Camera once started and stop recording only after the final scene. No editing done cut. Editing done only for color correction and other CG stuff. That is why they have done or consulted with censor board because they cant cut anything after that.
I think u should take a look at Matt Reeves's THE BATMAN and DUNE . Dune being the oscar winner (cinematography )previous year and I am anticipating batman would win the oscar for cinematography this year. I need to hear your thoughts and review of them both 🙂

The film director informed that the entire film was shot in a single shot, there are no cuts it seems, The whole film was shot within a closed set and many cinematographers were worked as assistance , The film is attempted 29 times to get the perfect film without any mistake. But my doubt is how they managed so much bigger data.
