So great to hear this kind of movie history. Christopher Lee is such a great actor and his Dracula films with Hammer are great movies. The Bela Lugosi movie is a masterpiece IMHO. Such great acting, especially by Bela.
Military intelligence officer and an absolute gentleman as well as an amazing actor and a peerless credit to the classic vampire movie genre the likes of which we will never see again...🥃🌹🇬🇧🦇🖤✌🏼
A few years ago I made a video on this subject. I showered Lugosi with praise while putting Lee to the side. However after watching this I felt like I was too hard on Lee. He was a great Dracula I should have given him more respect. Rest in Power the 2 Vampire kings.
I like to think the signet ring was handed down by Lee to a worthy successor of the Dracula mantle. The mystery now is figuring out who that fortunate (or not so fortunate) man is.
@@ivans.191 they still deviate from the book quite a bit otherwise lee would have turned down all the times after to play dracula he wanted basically what coppola did with bram stokers dracula but at the time i guess it just couldnt be done. In the end his dream was unrealized like lugosi ☹️
"The Dark Eyes of London" wow I never even heard of that movie. Sir Christopher Lee really pays Bela great homage to the prince of darkness sort to speak. Mr. Lee is a superb actor and I grew up watching Hammer movies with him and his good friend Peter Cushing. Love them.
Curiosidade: Christopher Lee era adolescente quando presenciou a última execução pública por guilhotina na França. Eu acredito que isto deve ter influenciado muito suas escolhas de personagens ao longo da carreira.
Universal kept Belas portrayal of Dracula more tame,no fangs, blood or brutality, but once they retired the Dracula character,Hammer took it to an entire different level with their Dracula films with fangs, gore and blood.
I used to watch this TV series called Don't Watch Alone as it switched channels to BBC 2 as they used to show late night double feature horror films as I am dedicating the TV series called Don't Watch Alone to it used to switch channels to BBC 2 as they were showing double feature horror films on Saturday nights to my old school friends who are both sisters as I hope to see them both again very soon to Chris Marie and Hester from Billyxxxxx
Classy, respectful, wonderful man!
It is a shame we don't all speak to each other in such a refined manner.
Just watch the Sherlock Holmes series with Jeremy Brett. They talk like that all the time.
There is no end to Christopher Lee's awesomeness.
Legend of a man talking about another legend of a man. What more do you need?
Other than performing in horror films, Bela Lugosi and Sir Christopher Lee served their countries (militarily) with honor. Thank you, gentlemen.

what a lovely man, he was Consumed by emotion when his friend Peter Cushing died.
Those two together guaranteed good fun!
Christopher Lee was the best at playing Dracula

We have big respect here in Morocco for Sir Christopher Lee
Losing this man was the first signs things were going to get worse.
People aren’t immortal, even if they play roles as vampires xD
It's as if his passing meant that uncivil people were suddenly emboldened and decided it was their turn to run things. I wonder how that turned out?
You know he was 93?
@@ThomasBolt Christopher Lee should have been immortal. Badasses like that aren't allowed to die.

Legend.
my god, what a class act....self deprecating and humble, sincere...there never was nor ever shall be another christopher lee. god love him.
Always a gentleman.
The MAN had class...
The voice!

Signet*
@@dariel7001 Corrected. Thanks bud
Class act!
Far too humble, when I see Dracula in my head I see you mr. Lee. R.I.P. big man.
Wish christopher lee got the chance to play dracula the way he was meant to be played like the book the way he wanted ☹️
Well he did in Count Dracula (1970)

Well, that film is pretty boring. IMO of course
@@ivans.191 Thanks for the heads up lol.
I could listen to him for hours!
Undead, Undead, Undead
Bela Lugosi is my favorite Dracula and the one I associate with the name, however Christopher Lee was a Wonder actor!!
I read in Famous Monsters of Filmland Magazine that the late editor of that magazine, Forrest J. Ackerman gave Mr. Lee that ring.
Really? That wouldn't surprise me. Forry was all kinds of awesome! Never missed an issue of Famous Monsters.
Christopher Lee is MY Dracula but there's no denying Lugosi's Dracula
Where is the clip from?
100 Years of Horror. Documentary
We miss you Christopher Lee. You are forever The Most Iconic DRACULA of ALL TIME. And I love you On the CASTLEVANIA SERIES.
I like to think that Lugosi was the best Dracula of the 1930's and 1940's, and Lee the best Dracula from 1958-1973.
Christopher lee un monument du cinéma comme le grand bella lugosi.
Bella Lugosi Cristopher Lee Jack Palance Vincent price Gary Oldman David Carradine Everybody is great.

That ring is incredibly cool 🦇
Two legends
Why didn’t Universal cast Lugosi as Dracula throughout their run of films?
Lee Said in many interview he didnt like been Typed casted.
Who has the ring that Christopher had now?

?Que de grand nom du cinéma !!👍
Bela Lugosi's Igor was fantastic in the Son of Frankenstein and Ghost of Frankenstein.
I thought Christopher Lee was Peter Cushing, and vice versa.
The two icons of Hammer films
Two sides of the Yin Yang of Hammer horror
