As someone who doesn’t have thalassophobia, and loves the ocean, I’m interested in finding out what kind of crackhead is chilling on a rowboat in those weather conditions.
I have tingles and goosebumps all over my body oohhhshit As someone who has thalassophobia, I couldn't watch the entirety of the video, this was scary as hell
No! You guys don't get it. Everything is perfect but don't show a monster. Our minds will create a monster deep under the waves you guys could never create. Nothing is so goddamn scarier than nothing, you have no idea.
Its like how horror books are better than horror movies. Anyone can depict something they find scary, but no one can pick at the thing that terrifies you specifically. Nothing is more horrifying than what your own mind can conjur
Depends on the person, if I know there's actually something to fear then I will be much more afraid. You can feel afraid at night walking through your house but you know almost completely there's nobody, but if you knew someone was there for you then you'd be terrified
I think it's fine to show some sort of monster but make it really subtle like it's just barely visible and approaching slowly. What kills these sort of thalassophobia videos for me is that so many of them end up with the typical POV shot of someone looking in a direction and there's some creature just swimming at the camera. The fear is, as you said, in the nothingness. The moments when you gaze into the abyss and wonder what lurks there.
idk why but im so mezemerized by these types of videos. ever since ive seen the 2014 godzilla i am terrified yet struck with awe, the recent films didnt do the job as well. i wish to create a film with such level of feeling
Я боюсь глубины и стараюсь не нырять там, где не чувствую дна. Но конкретно эти видео с телассофобией завораживают меня. Они заставляют меня чувствовать спокойствие и беспомощность одновременно 🫣
I'm terrified of this. And at the same time, i'm sure it's never gonna happen to me because there's no way I'm ever gonna get on a boat like that. There's no way I'm even getting 3 meters away from the shore line hahahahah
Same here, but I have this irrational fear that I'm gonna get really drunk and black out then wake up in a situation like this. Or like on top of the Empire State Building, that kind of stuff.
I remember going swimming with sea turtles on the northern coast of Peru. Among the cute green sea turtles were two huge leatherback sea turtles. I remember sticking my head in the water wearing a snorkel mask and I saw one of them swam right under me. I knew they were harmless but still, it was a very scary sight.
Im using “exposure therapy” to help my thalassophobia by watching a lot of shark videos and going deeper into water at the beach lol and I use these videos to test my progress
As someone who understands basic psychology, good news! None of you have thalassophobia! A phobia is an irrational fear so strong that sufferers will go through extreme lengths to avoid the subject of their fear. IE excessive cleaning to ensure there are no spiders around. You all knew what you were going to get and came here anyway. That is not phobic behavior. Really, I'd say what you're doing here is closer to l'appel du vide. That feeling you get when you stand at the edge of a cliff and have that little thought that says, "what if I jumped?"
If you think you have this "thalassophobia", you don't. You're a rational human being feeling appropriately about a situation in which you are not biologically designed to survive. You're supposed to be scared
like, im deathly terrified of the open ocean but like... you would NEVER catch me on a shoddy ass boat like that in a fucking kiddy pool. let alone in a thunderstorm in the middle of the sea.
I tilt the phone slightly away from myself, so when the jump scare happens, it's not jumping directly at me. I still almost threw my phone. Wtf with this damn phobia...
Hemm. So that’s what I have. Good to know it. Oh I know why I have it. Bro, anything and everything is down there. Except me, I keep it cute on the sideline
Fortunately I don't suffer from it, but thalassophobia is one of the most reasonable phobias that exist and I can perfectly understand those who suffer from it. Unlike people who suffer from coulrophobia or trypophobia, I don't feel a gram of empathy for those weak insects
I dont suffer from this phobia. I just get scared when i am in the ocean. So to prevent the suffering i just dont go there. Real suffering of phobias are the ones you can hardly avoid. Such as the phobia with a duck somewhere around the world staring at him.how do you handle that? Thasallaphobia is one of the most common ones and one of the easiest to not notice.
As someone who doesn’t have thalassophobia, and loves the ocean, I’m interested in finding out what kind of crackhead is chilling on a rowboat in those weather conditions.
Crackheads dont go to the ocean. There is no crack there.
Nice joke attempt though.

It's a game, not a real video. Dw, for the first half of the video I also thought it was real lol
As someone who has thalassophobia this was genuinely terrifying, good job
Wait what is thalassophobia
@@Mahmoud-bl3hp the fear of things like this, like the deep deep ocean. not a pond or lake, a deep body of water.

At least no more than a vague shadow.

The vastness of the ocean, turbulence of the waves, and general feeling of lonely despair were far more terrifying than the fish.
TF I got jumpscared so hard at the end I didn't expect that thing at the end.

Thalassophobia is serious indeed. I would be terrified if I was in the ocean and couldn’t see.
At least you popped a sick wheelie
