      Not a fan of the Helos and Titan at all due to their way below average glass quality for the prices they charge while the new Theos is in a whole different universe compared to them you wouldn't think it's actually from the same brand.

    Element makes awesome optics. I have a their titan and yesterday at the range, I was spotting for my buddy who was shooting one of my rifles and gah damn, I was seeing bullet trace with my titan. Granted lighting was perfect as it was around 3pm in central California , but it just reinforces the product quality Element puts out. 👏👏

    This specific Element Optics Theos really interests me. Specifically due to it's lighter weight in it's class and ease of setting the zero stop. I'm concerned about the rev indicator what happens if dust and debris get inside? What happens if the scope gets accidentally damaged during normal use such as rifle getting dropped that negatively affects scope function and usability?
    Does the zero stop limit it's total elevation travel?

    You've just grabbed my attention, gents!

      Buy the Theos next time they go on sale for under $2000 otherwise buy the black Vortex Razor Gen 3 for under $2450 (regular price) instead.
      I definitely plan to buy an Element Optics Theos next time they go on sale for $1900 or cheaper. The Burris XTR PRO is a good scope for $1400 with law enforcement or military discount.
      Since you own and used an Element Titan, your expectations are already low so anything from an Athlon Midas Tac 6-24x and Ares BTR Gen 2 4.5-27x is going to be a huge night and day improvement compared to what you already have. The Athlon Cronus BTR Gen 2 4.5-29x for $1050-$1300 depends on where you buy them from and if you qualify for law enforcement or military discount or your outdoor job or amy affiliated job when bought through Expert Voice for at least 40% off typical selling prices.
      I recently bought my second Athlon Cronus BTR Gen 2 and its way better quality than the Elements Nexus 5-20x. I haven't gotten my hands on nor checked out a new Nexus Gen 2 4-25x yet but holey crap it's a $2000 scope with only a 30mm tube. I'll just stick with my Nightforce NX8 4-32x50 and buy more of these Nightforce NX8's for the same money or even cheaper thank you.
      Looking forward to the Theos seriously next time they go on sale for under $2000. I don't have the luxury of receiving free scopes or getting half price discounted scope offers either so I just have to wait like everyone else for them to go on sale or buy the new black Vortex Razor Gen 3 6-36x56 instead for under $2450 or maybe even the Zeiss LRP S3 version next time they go on sale for under $1800.

    I bought one and am extremely happy. The glass is as good as any scope I have ever used (e.g. ZCO, S&B, Nightforce, etc.). The zero stop feature is excellent - no allen keys needed.

      @@0QualityOverQuantity Nope go buy the Razor Gen 3 if you prefer locking turrets. I own both Theos and Razor Gen 3 and the Vortex has better quality glass and seems more durable with superior no questions asked VIP warranty. They even pay for your round trip shipping and even front your brand new replacement scope before you send yours back if you need to use their warranty.
      My Theos having Illumination problems and turns on only when it feels like it and customer service at Element Optics surely lacking based on my own first hand experience especially as a big sending customer who owns one Theos and waiting for 4 more of them I that already paid up front for.

    I do like it and all the features/upgrades and will be getting one on my 300 long range set-up but as with my nexus my major complaint is it really pisses my off that it doesn't come with the tenebrex flip up covers but that annoying neoprene cover just charge us alittle more and include them!! Maybe just do them at cost plus tax included so we aren't feeling ripped off. I mean the price for the theos is at entry level nightforce atacr or top end nx8 and they come with them in the box. Just a big oversight and was reported feedback several times on the nexus. It just feels as a customer you're short changed and company it like not my problem just pay up.

    • @ElementOptics
      @ElementOptics  2 года назад +2

      We could do that, but the Tenebraex caps are very expensive and some people have no interest in them. So we prefer to offer them separately. If it helps, we make no money off the Tenebraex caps we sell as accessories - they are purely there to service Nexus & Theos owners.

    • @Lethal_Intent
      @Lethal_Intent 2 года назад +3

      @@ElementOptics while that's fine for your reasoning is doesn't seem it trickles down to the customer. The UK retailers and importer (SGC) someone is making money here. They are more expensive to purchase than their tenebrex night force counterpart by up to 50% or more so I don't know how that is if you don't make anything on them. So a word to pass this on to us customers to sportsman gun center uk and retailers would be great or better yet the ability to purchase direct at the no margins price if we've purchase the scope aswell. It means we could support the brand and feel like we are supported in return. As every hand it passes through increases the price dramatically. Which is why its so annoying they aren't included in the first place. Let alone the hassle of trying to find some in stock and not from price gouging.

    • @commonsense5709
      @commonsense5709 Год назад

      @@Lethal_Intent No one is forcing you to buy any of their majorly overpriced scopes and accessories. I'm really surprised you chose to actually buy the Nexus over the NX8 to be totally honest. The slight difference in price is actually worth paying the extra for the Nightforce.
      I plan to buy an Element Optics Theos next time I see them on sale for under $2000. I think the Tenebraex Element Optics branded covers are $130 for the pair. I'll probably get them too if I can get at least a slight discount on them.
      I personally think the Theos is actually worth buying whenever they go on sale for under $2000. I appreciate their lighter weight compared to it's much cheaper priced sub $2500 peers such as the Zeiss LRP S3 and the new black Vortex Razor Gen 3.
      I'm definitely not a fan of their Helix, Titan nor Nexus though and was very unimpressed with them after comparing each of them to several Athlon scopes I already have from the Midas HD and up that were in reality less expensive out the door when all of these were in fact purchased at very good sale prices.
      I don't know if it's true but the glass used in their newest Helix, Titan and Nexus seems lower quality than before. Even the Nexus has chromatic aberration on high magnification which is totally unacceptable for a $1500 scope.

    • @Lethal_Intent
      @Lethal_Intent Год назад +1

      @@commonsense5709 it's not about being overpriced its about the cost increase for no apparent reason on branded accessories i dont mind paying the same price for the flips ups as the nightforce ones they are the exactly same but cost 50% more for no reason. (Which is what i did in the end) as for clarity the scopes i have are nf nx8, nxs, atcar, element titan, nexus gen1, theos, hawke frontier, Zeiss v4 and s5 lrp, and a swaro z8i haven't used vortex other than their red dots or athlon at all.
      But out of the lot my biggest disappointment are the hawke frontier followed closely by both Zeiss at their respective price points. Whiles all the scopes i have will do the job i do think price for performance the best being the titan and my nx8. The nx8 vs theos and Zeiss Lrp i can see no improvement over the nx8 in terms of clarity and only a small jump when going to the atacr when placed side by side if i wasn't looking at them like that I don't think i would've known there was any improvements other than marketing. So if i wanted only one and didn't enjoy collecting and using different scopes with my knowledge id go for a nx8 or atacr if i wanted the best. I haven't had a tangent or a zero comp to know what I'm missing but one of them might be on the list for a future gun/scope combo.

      @@ElementOptics How can you possibly make such a statement that you don't make any money selling Tenebraex lens covers when other places sell them for $70.00 regular price for both front and rear? Tract Optics sells Tebebraex front and rear lens cover set for $70.00 regular price that fit the Theos perfectly. I wouldn't doubt the 50mm ones they also selling for $70.00 regular price would fit both of the Nexus. They have 2 different 50mm Tebebraex cover sets. They are all currently on sale for $63.00 Tebebraex front and rear sets until December 10 2023 with free shipping during their current 10% off sale. Look under their accessories section.
      I have the Tract Toric ELR 4.5-30x56 and the Tebebraex lens covers also fit the Theos.

    Personally I don't like a zero stop that can only stop below zero. What is the point? A zero -0.5 mill stop.
    Besides, a zero stop like on a NF or a Delta Stryker ect can also dail below zero if you choose to set it up to do so. But this way it is impossible to return to zero fast and accurate without looking and counting. Give ma a pin or spacer or something to install so that I can stop at zero. Or a button like on a Leopold that allows you to go down if you find the need

    • @commonsense5709
      @commonsense5709 Год назад +1

      Why not just set the zero stop 1/2 MIL over intended target stop then? This ought to get it right there where you want it.

    Why has the Element Optics Theos already been DISCONTINUED? Optics Planet website states this fact. Is there no more platinum lifetime warranty support for the Element Theos? Is Element Optics shutting down and no longer going to honor their lifetime warranty or is it only for the Theos? What happens if other customers with defective Theos scopes need replacement scopes under warranty if it's discontinued?

    • @blackhawk2302
