  • The Aperture Ring that we include with our THEOS 6-36x56 Riflescope may be a mystery to many. This video explains what an aperture ring does, and the physics behind how it can improve (or not!) your image.

    I just ordered a Theos from Utah Airguns yesterday. I have 2 Titans, and a Helix ED, Vortex and others. When I spent time on the Theos on a friend's gun, I was blown away. The forgiving "eye box" was the best I've ever seen. Between all of the great features of the Theos...this scope has the most forgiving sight picture of any scope ive looked though. 9.3/10

    Will you guys produce some of these Rings for the other Scopes, like the Titan, Nexus and Helix as well?

      We are looking into it!

      You don't want this, the diffraction will turn the image quality to shit, especially if you already have a high focal length scope. Most good scopes are already diffraction limited, adding more will only make it more blurry.

      @@derankokenge9760 I highly doubt an aperture reducer ring is going to improve the mediocre to below average image quality in a Titan. Just buy an Athlon Ares BTR G2 4.5-27x50 if you want to upgrade that Titan by a lot. They are currently on sale for under $600. You will immediately notice the huge improved optical clarity difference upgrade with the Athlon Ares BTR G2 which is also better than the Bushnell Match Pro ED.
      You will also notice that the Ares BTR G2 4.5-27x50 may be slightly better than the original 5-20x50 Nexus in regards to both optical clarity and turrets.

    I never had a situation where I thought to myself, "I could really use a larger Obj lens right now". I hunt and target shoot in all conditions and often at sunrise and sunset when the light levels are low and I've never thought, "I need a bigger Obj lens for this". This even further solidifies that fact that you don't HAVE TO HAVE a super large Obj lens. I HATE HATE HATE those large scopes with 50+mm lenses. There's really no need for anything larger than say a 44mm lens.

    I love these videos, breaking in the the physics of it all! Is the threading standardised? So would these rings be compatible with the 56 mm objective of the Titan?

    Hi ! Will you do it for the titan ? It would be a great improvement !!!

    • @commonsense5709
      @commonsense5709 10 месяцев назад

      Unfortunately it may not be enough to get the Titan to be as clear as you would like it to be. You're much better off upgrading to an Athlon Ares BTR G2 4.5-27x50 currently on sale for under $600 and it's comparable to if not better than the 5-20x50 Nexus when used as a 5-20x scope. Try one and I guarantee you'll notice the huge improvement compared to what you already have now.

    Optics Planet website states the Element Theos has been discontinued by the manufacture. Is there no moee platinum lifetime warranty support for the Theos? What abiut all the other Theos customers needing warranty exchanges for their defective Theos scopes? Is Element Optics shutting down and not honoring their lifetime warranty?

    Could you please make side wheels in 4 and 6 inch sizes for all your scopes i’ll be using my scope with a pard 007sp with on board range finder and 2k film quality for day and night filming and a side wheel would just speed things up aperture rings would be useful for other models like the 4-16x44 a 10/12mm reduction in the lense would offer a great reduction in field of view and increase depth to be the same as a 10x32 hft scope !

    Objective lenses do not gather light, they allow light to pass through. The bigger, the more light it allowes through.

    • @MKChase-uj9vx
      @MKChase-uj9vx Год назад

      The term ight 'gathering' is used because the objective 'gathers' (focuses) the light into a focal point. they do not simply allow light to pass through.
