Haven't finished the video yet but you should definitely be able to get the diving board jiggy in Witchyworld without Kazooie. If you split up, and then learn pack whack, the little "double jump trick" should give you enough height as just Banjo to get that jiggy
@@XenoWars I was trying to remember if I beat him that way. I remember on the original release growing up I attempted to beat him on the boss rematch using only Ratatat Rap, then only Rolling. And if I did it with rolling, just stand attack which I know I couldn't.
This needs an update, there's so much that can be optimized using solo banjos double jump, swimming as banjo solo to access the first warp pad in JRL and then grab kazooie to warp underwater, and in JRL & HFP's mumbo hut, you can use mumbo to blow up a hole in his house, he can also kill Mildred next to boggy's on the icy side. Lastly you can use the detonator to blow up bill drill boulders in GGM, Some of that information came in later in the video while the other half of mumbo was underestimated and was never researched.
Since Banjo is actually able to initiate swimming while solo, I dont think any dives should be counted since he is able to do it himself. Fast swimming from Roysten even eorks solo. Mumbo can destroy the wall in his skull in JRL and also in HFP's colliseum. You canavoid the floater for Sack Pack by just taking the warp pad back to the start and dropping down.
There is a kazooie use that you can avoid, like using the strange animal to take banjo, in cloud cuckoland, to the move. You can use banjo double jump.
Canary Mary, as far as I know, has a rubber band mechanism (if you pass her, she'll speed up, if you fall behind, she'll slow down), so technically the way to beat her without extra items should be to stay just behind the whole race and pass her right on the final stretch. (The timing is very tricky though.) (also it's harder on the Rare replay's version than the original N64, apparently the Xbox is better at counting your A pressing, so you need to be more presice or something like that, don't quote me on that) uhh Wooper!
I recently 100% the switch release of the 64 version and was worried about Cannary Mary. But after some trial and error, I learned that it only takes 2-3 presses per "wing flap" to keep pace. Then you try to blow by at the last moment. Not the monster I remembered it to be.
Have you tried to get the Dive of Death Jiggy with only Banjo. As in when you take Kazooie out of his backpack? Perhaps you could try doing the featherless flap, then swing the backpack and see if that works.
Would be interesting to see how much of BK / BT you can beat with only Kazooie. Maybe setting a rule to the effect of anytime you're walking or swimming, you have to use Kazooie's Talon Trot or Fast Swimming (which could be tricky as you don't get precision from Banjo swimming). Climbing would then be a Banjo-only move, forcing you to fly, glide, spring, or backflip (so trees and ladders are Banjo-only). Of course, since you start areas as Banjo, that's unavoidable, so as a rule maybe you have to switch to Kazooie as early as possible before moving. Talking to most NPCs would also be a Banjo move since Banjo is primarily the one who does this, so seeing if you can skip certain moves and exchanges (Bottles, Mumbo, Humba). Although, maybe you can keep that as a separate running total since most of the time they do it together. And then transformations obviously don't count and are free actions. But yeah, you'd basically have to bee-line for Talon Trot using Flutter Flap.
I'm not sure if this is a challenge but there are a couple of things I always wanted to know: -Is it possible to beat Gruntilda without unlocking the Flying Pod? You can learn the sack pack move in Cloud Cuckooland with hatching the floater creature. There’s a door above the area where you can enter and just drop down and enter as usual to get the move…you just enter from the outside of the cavern. I forgot exactly which door it is from the outside, though.

To button mash a single button, look up "tetris rolling". Basically you hold your finger on the button you want to mash, but instead of gripping the controller, you drum your fingers of your other hand against the bottom of the controller like an impatient secretary in a bad movie. this should bounce the controller multiple times per motion, it should sound like Thing from the Adams Family running.
My gut tells me this gets a lot less practical with an N64 controller. Those things are bigger, heavier, and awkwardly shaped compared to an NES controller
Its unbelivable how underrated you are you my favorit challange ytber. Espacally because you play so funny and damn hard challanges with so many restrictions AND THE BEST PART IS YOU PLAYING ALL MY DEAR AND LOVED childhood games ❤❤❤
I've never had a problem collecting the Jiggy from Canary Mary in Cloud Cookooland as I figured out an arm vibrating technique as a kid that's great for button mashing, but that damned Cheato page literally took until I had adult muscle stamina to beat legitimately. And my arm was still on fire afterwards! Canary Mary must have been designed by that one sadistic programmer at Rare who is still laughing at all our pain from the impossible challenges he made.
Yeah the pain is not worth it for a cheato page lol. They even talk about the design of canary Mary in nuts & bolts and they knew exactly what they were doing
It's funny because if you just press the button in a slow enough pattern, Mary will fly super slowly the whole way. So you just have to do that until almost the end, then mash as fast as you can right before the finish, and you should beat her no problem. Works for the jiggy and cheato page
6:48 I've never tried this, but would using the split pad to get Kazooie out of your bag and then using Banjo's (worse) backflip be enough to get the high dive jiggy?
Wooper! Just so you know, for canary mary in cloud cuckooland, the reason she speeds in front of you so quickly is due to awful rubber banding that happens when you pass her. If you allow her to stay barely in front of you for the entire race, and then speed in front of her right at the end, it is very realistic for a human to do actually!
6:30 You can use the split up pad to play as solo banjo. And you can still use most of his abilities, He even has a solo tall jump with no kazooie required, That should be enough to make some of the jumps, But there's also the wackpack double jump unless you're considering that an exploit
Great job! Quite a challenge, & very well done. As well as the video being well put together. And yeah, no problem in the FPS section; Kazooie is just Banjo's emotional support bird. ;3 ......Wooper!
I know the video is already done, bvut an easier way to beat Canary Mary is to start off slowly and speed up near the end of the race, she has incredible rubberbanding, and is super difficult to beat by just straight mashing. Wooper
Needing to carry Kazooie to go into the temple should count as needing Kazooie- Not only because she is a feathery key, but also because unlike the first game, the sequel depicts Banjo without Kazooie in the split up feature. I believe that this challenge should be stricter than in the first game because of the existence of the split up feature. Ideally the game would be modded so that you could just be banjo. This would mean he would be unable to swing his pack until the third level though.
I think the forward roll counts as a Kazooie move for 2 reasons The first is that we've seen it in Banjo-Kazooie and it works differently than it does in Tooie. In BK you can't steer it and the move is slow, so being able to steer the roll while also being faster is because Kazooie is helping with her wings. The second and stronger one in my eyes is that Banjo can't perform the move solo.
I literally just beat Banjo Tooie for the first time 5 days ago. I played on the Xbox version. I first-tried both Canary Mary racing courses, and one of them I didn’t even know what buttons to press at first and she had a big lead. Did they make it easier on Xbox or something?
6:40 Splitting up and using the pack whack to double jump should get you this pretty easily. 7:00 Banjo's double jump should let you reach Humba's warp point without kazooie. 11:44 Grenade eggs only deal 3 damage to old king coal, ice eggs deal 5. So while what you said is incorrect, it does take 10 kazooie uses to beat him with eggs. If you can damage him with rolls then it'll be zero uses. 22:14 You can get across that gap without a floater as just Banjo with some precise hopping and double jumping, so that'll remove a few uses. 22:45 It might be possible to jump off the ladder as Banjo and double jump up. There's plenty of other things that have either already been mentioned or have been missed, so I wonder if it's possible to bring the total below 150 or even all the way down to just double digits.
Where is that sound from?! the one everytime a level name popped up! Its driving me insane with familiarity but i cannot for the life of me figure out where its from!
There were some witchy world, glitter gulch mind and some other worlds where if you used Banjos double jump, you can bi pass some things. Even the tent, all you have to do is pack wack, have Banjos feet touch ground, then jump and pack back again in repeat until you reach the top. Any slope, it can work. Found that cheat out when I was 10 lol.
you can double jump with banjo after splitting kazooie off him. just jump, swing the backpack, and jump again. that could have been used to get the jiggy on the diving board
3:30 While I agree the Jiggy in Targitzan's Slightly Sacred Chamber is fine, I can see an argument for why it wouldn't be (or rather would add to the counter). It isn't because of Banjo holding Kazooie. I completely agree with you there. The argument I can see is that the Jiggy is inaccessible without Breegull Blaster. Kazooie is required to learn a move to gain access to the Jiggy, therefore the Jiggy requires Kazooie. Still, I personally would not count learning moves. It's like playing Jak II without guns. You will inevitably obtain the guns, even if you skip where they're supposed to be obtained, but you never use them. That said, the comparison falls apart a little if Breegull Blaster is an optional move. Also, Wooper.
In Whichy world, at the Jiggy at the very top, you can use Solo Banjo to do a double jump with the pack whack, and that should be able to reach the jiggy
The Jinjo colors aren't quite random. The game chooses between one of 33 different patterns each time a new file is started. The easiest way to see which pattern you have is to immediately save and quit and copy the file. Then simply play until Mayahem Temple and see which colors appear in what spots. So if all you need for this challenge is 70 jiggies, it's a matter of figuring out which pattern works best
Yeah I consider it using Kazooie. The move is called beak busting after all lol. But even ground pounding into the water I think Banjo would be forced back to the surface
this video is great if the viewer already knows the game. but for total outsiders you could make it more approachable with some extra explanations. summoning salt and the golden eye blond dude does it well
can you try this but with not using banjo instead? without moving, you can use kazooie to walk and jump. so i bet there would be many jiggies you could collect "without" banjo
would like to see how much you can get with Mumbo. i tried it on my last playthrough and it was pretty much ( i avoided collecting Notes, Jinjos and Jiggies as Banjo and Kazooie) but i think i missed alot. maybe you can challenge yourself, to give the best shaman a try. really nice video! ilove your Banjo stuff
I'm pretty sure you could've exploited many slopes my cycling solo banjos double jump glitch on them (yes that works since banjo touches ground again during the spin), as well as some places that can't be reached without a high jump like backflip. The A-B-A combo also travels a bit higher than solo banjos backflip, which is helpful in many situations. Judging by the many tips in the comments I suggest you could do this run again and perform much better this time
canary mary isn’t so hard when you realize how the rubberbanding works. if you alternate between mashing for a couple seconds, then tapping once every half second for a couple seconds, you can get really far ahead of canary mary because she slows down when you slow down, and she takes a while to speed up. also if you beat her a second time you get a cheato page lol
Hey,new subscriber here, in your opinion, what would you think if donkey Kong and the other kings had to take on grunty and banjo had to take on King k.rool? Would banjo be able to traverse kong isle ? Would the Kongs be able to take on the isle of hags? I'd love your take on it.
You can destroy any billdrill boulder, in Glitter G. Mine, w/ the detonator transformation. It hurts, but it's banjo
Yeah somehow I completely overlooked that
But do you need kazooie to reach the glowbo? 🤣
Whats weird is I was playing tonight and realized i missed the one near the prospector’s hut. So I tried the TNT and it worked 😅
@spoonfork5694 the glowbos are interchangeable so as long as you can reach any other glowbo, you'll be fine.
@@pressaTD Considering this, and a few other suggestions from the comments, do you think you'd do a follow-up video?
I think any move that doesnt explicitly use kazooie should work, as long as u dont shoot/charge in the fps sections

Interesting, good to know!
Wooper for president! Down with the tyranny of Mary!
You inspired me to get another cat and name him banjo
love the vids
Does doing the ground pound count as a kazooie? Can't you ground pound into water to be below the surface?
Yeah I consider it using Kazooie. The move is called beak busting after all lol. But even ground pounding into the water I think Banjo would be forced back to the surface
this video is great if the viewer already knows the game. but for total outsiders you could make it more approachable with some extra explanations. summoning salt and the golden eye blond dude does it well
Appreciate the feedback! I’ll keep this in my mind for future videos
yknow… maybe grunty had a point in grunty’s revenge…
wooper
I hear the Ms.Pacman Maze Madness OST and I like. What can I say?
Wooper moment.
Such a banger
Old King Coal takes double damage from Ice Eggs
Happy turkey day, Wooper!
This video was a total Wooper. I mean whopper.
For canary Mary you can just pause to regain stamina then only play when you're at max performance
My problem is I’m never at max performance :(
can you try this but with not using banjo instead?
without moving, you can use kazooie to walk and jump. so i bet there would be many jiggies you could collect "without" banjo
WOOP WOOP
would like to see how much you can get with Mumbo. i tried it on my last playthrough and it was pretty much ( i avoided collecting Notes, Jinjos and Jiggies as Banjo and Kazooie) but i think i missed alot. maybe you can challenge yourself, to give the best shaman a try.
really nice video! ilove your Banjo stuff
Oooh I really like that idea! And thank you! More Banjo stuff to come
I'm pretty sure you could've exploited many slopes my cycling solo banjos double jump glitch on them (yes that works since banjo touches ground again during the spin), as well as some places that can't be reached without a high jump like backflip. The A-B-A combo also travels a bit higher than solo banjos backflip, which is helpful in many situations.
Judging by the many tips in the comments I suggest you could do this run again and perform much better this time
Making this video I knew it was very likely there were missed opportunities lol
Do you even need to open the entrance to Grunty Industries?
canary mary isn’t so hard when you realize how the rubberbanding works. if you alternate between mashing for a couple seconds, then tapping once every half second for a couple seconds, you can get really far ahead of canary mary because she slows down when you slow down, and she takes a while to speed up.
also if you beat her a second time you get a cheato page lol
Yeah I was not going through that pain for a cheato page lol
Ice eggs against old king coal do way more damage then grenade eggs
Wooper
Hey,new subscriber here, in your opinion, what would you think if donkey Kong and the other kings had to take on grunty and banjo had to take on King k.rool? Would banjo be able to traverse kong isle ? Would the Kongs be able to take on the isle of hags? I'd love your take on it.
Love this question. I have no doubts in Banjo & Kazooie or the Kongs abilities to take on any challenge and excel
Best N64 game ever ngl.
Interesting vid, but this challenge seems like a bit of a silly one considering that number of kazooie uses is sooooo large
We love silly
