- Welcome to the Miami Beach EDITION hotel! EDITION Hotels are quickly becoming one of our favorite brands of 5-star luxury hotels, thanks to their modern, private, and boutique vibe and for still being within the Marriott Bonvoy's luxury brand portfolio!
The Miami Beach EDITION is located in the heart of Miami's South Beach at 2901 Collins Ave and has, what we consider, one of the best and most beautiful, amenity-filled properties in South Beach and Miami altogether. The moment you pull up to the Miami Beach EDITION you are struck with a sense of exclusivity. When you walk into the Miami Beach EDITION hotel's lobby you are overtaken by the strong Le Labo aroma and could almost get lost in the jungle of lush palm trees and monstera leaves. As you walk along with the exquisite and historical white marble floors the bellman quickly collects your luggage and offers complimentary welcome beverages: Miami Cocktails! During this EDITION Hotel stay we received a complimentary room upgrade thanks to our Marriott Bonvoy Elite Status to the Deluxe City View King Bed Suite. As expected at all EDITION Hotels, each room is decorated with soft, neutral colors, white marble bathrooms, large desks, mini-bars, and fine linens. The attention to detail in these rooms is incredible, including fresh monstera clippings, boxes of water, and sanitary wipes and masks due to the current COVID situation. The bathroom is stocked full of our favorite soaps, the EDITION branded Le Labo, but we always request more from housekeeping.
The Miami Beach EDITION hotel has two pools, one being the historical Sundial pool which can be easily identified by its large fin-shaped diving board structure. The diving boards are no longer in use though! The Sundial pool is conveniently located adjacent to the Bungalow suites, so if you have one of these large luxury bungalows you will be just steps away from taking a dip in the historic Sundial pool. The second pool is a more modern rectangular lap pool. The majority of the lounge chairs, adorned with soft pillow cushions, are located there and were safely spread apart to adhere to social distancing and safety guidelines. This being said, it was very easy to get some privacy. One thing we liked about the modern pool was that it was adjacent to the Matador Room restaurant so it was simple to walk up the staircase to the patio and indulge in Miami's best Mojito and snack on a delectable lime avocado pizza. The Matador Room is also open for dinner and run by renowned Chef Jean-Georges Vongeirchten who is responsible for this special pizza creation as well as a wide variety of other culinary genius plates. The Miami Beach EDITION patio also has another restaurant closer to the beach and the Sundial pool called Tropicale. The Tropicale restaurant and full bar is the perfect place to grab a frozen drink to keep you cool in the hot Miami Beach sun. Our lunch choice at Tropicale was the black grouper fish tacos with apple chili slaw and chipotle smoke sauce.
The Miami Beach EDITION hotel's property is directly on Miami's famous South Beach, with it's beautiful white sand beach. Once outside the secure EDITION hotel patio's east gate, you are a single step away from the beach. Once on South Beach, you are met with a cute modern beachside bar in a wooden cabana. You are provided beach towels and beach chairs (some with umbrellas) by the Miami Beach EDITION beach staff. Besides the perfect warm weather and beautiful beaches, Miami's South Beach is full of life, color, nightlife, shopping, amazing restaurants, and incredible drinks. All of these attractions bring millions of tourists to Miami annually.
Something we loved specifically about the Miami Beach EDITION was the fact that we had access to all the aforementioned activities just outside the EDITION hotel property, but we also felt so at home on the property with pools, the beach, our suite, and multiple restaurants, for once while visiting South Beach we didn't feel like leaving the hotel property! It was a completely different, more quiet, secluded, and totally exclusive South Beach experience. Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions, many of the EDITION hotel's public spaces were closed, such as the Market at EDITION, the bowling alley, the nightclub, and the ice skating rink. Yes, the Miami Beach EDITION has an ice skating rink and a bowling alley! I guess we will have to go back and stay at the Miami Beach EDITION hotel on South Beach again to experience all of its amenities!

I really like your videos guys. I think I would have to agree that the edition is the best Miami Beach hotel. I am also a platinum member and my husband works for marriott. We really loved the Eden rock Miami Beach but we have not been there in a long time since it was a Marriott property.
Did you guys know that there is a nightclub in the basement of the edition with a bowling alley?

How’d you guys like this room category? This is what I have booked but was debating on an oceanfront which is smaller but has the balcony. How’s the soundproofing/insulation in the hotel? I’ve read a few complaints on TripAdvisor.
We would have loved ocean view but they didn't have any available!
We loved this room and the view of Miami was nice enough. We spent most of our time at the pool and beach so if you are looking to save money city view is well worth and pray for an upgrade hah!
We had no sound issues at all.

I absolutely LOVE the EDITION, so I'd say I'd personally choose the Miami Beach EDITION, but to be fair I haven't stayed at the Hilton Bentley hotel yet

The bowling and ice skating rink is only open thurs-sun tho so sadly will miss it this time but nbd bc everything else about this resort is perfection! I love how it’s right off the boardwalk too. My husband and I are setting a goal to visit all the edition hotels in the world. You guys should do that too and film it! Also there’s an edition opening in Tampa where we are from! Can’t wait! The bowling alley and the ice skating rink weren't open yet due to COVID back when we visited but I'm glad it's open now, even if it's limited. We absolutely LOVE the Miami Beach EDITION! You can get the Le Labo Noir perfume and scent if you want to literally wear the smell everyday or have your entire house smell like the EDITION (like we do lol). That's a great goal to visit them all! Check out our Barcelona EDITION review, it's an amazing location. We've been to the West Hollywood EDITION and the rooftop is incredible. We have the same goal of visiting all of the EDITION locations and will try to make it to the grand opening of the Tampa EDITION too!

Are there any places to grab a good but not expensive dinner in the neighborhood? I am travelling to MIA in April with a 11 month old and we are curious to know how walkable the neighborhood is.
There is sooooo many options in the area. South Beach is definitely over inflated in price because most people like to stay within walking though. You have to travel over a pretty large bridge to get off south beach and even inland the city of Miami prices aren't much better unless you find some small local joints. Less expensive food is definitely around but you'll have to weigh your options of the time it takes to find it and uber rides there and back rather than just walk or order at the hotel. Let us know if you find anything good!

The pools look really shady- do they get enough sun?
Both pools are east facing, towards the beach. So the best sun is in the morning to early afternoon, and there is plenty of sun! In the afternoons and evenings, the hotel will shade the pools since the sun sets to the west

This is not accurate. No hotels have removed water or drinks in room due to Covid, unless you only stay at low end hotels. It is also abnormal the bar is closed. Again this would only happen at a low end hotel. All high end hotels these services have been normal since early February.
Hey Bob, this video was shot in September 2020, so things reference COVID have obviously improved. But back then we were running into most hotels not supplying snacks and drink bars. I agree it was strange for the lobby bar to be closed but every the market place was closed and cordoned off. Not to mention the ice skating rink and bowling ally. That being said we can't wait to make it back and see the entire property one day!
I don’t see why it’s over a 1000 a night. Very basic to me for the most part.
Don’t get me wrong, the EDITION isn’t cheap! But,with the EDITION being a luxury hotel, the cost also reflects the atmosphere, experience, and guests that the hotel caters to.
The rates are in the $1.5-2K/night range in Dec through New Years, during Miami music week, etc but drop down into the $400-500 range in the summer
