Brilliant. I think Gieseking had quite a gift for this music, as he did for Debussy and Schumann. I'd never heard this recording. Many thanks!

Wunderschöne und detaillierte Interpretation dieser vier spätromantischen und fein komponierten Klavierstücke im veränderlichen Tempo mit klarem doch warmherzigem Anschlag und mit künstlerisch kontrollierter Dynamik. Wahrlich intelligenter und unvergleichlicher Pianist!

Seul Richter 1959 (en live) parvient à faire peut-être “un peu” mieux… si tant est qu’on cède à la tentation de les comparer. Deux géants du piano !
