I just saw her in Sacramento.. I'm 69 f black a Oakland native and I've seen just about every performer.. the young women loved her and the lesbians...she still have her voice..I saw Angie Stone at Yoshis last year and that was a performance...saw Toni Braxton a few yrs ago in Tulsa and her show was great. Badu reminds me of my Aunts in Louisiana who practiced voo doo and were mid wives..I think I missed her singing.. I'll see you next lifetime...the show reminded me of EWF but they have hit after hit and everyone parties... different kind of concert for me.

Loved she added 20 Feet Tall, No Love, Orange Moon, Me, AD 2000, and Time’s A Wastin to the setlist! Upset we didn’t get Next Lifetime and Didn’t Cha Know.

Unfortunately she did ( when she disrobed @ the end of the Window Seat video) and I hated she resulted to that. I believe she did that to show them that she had a body too... because she was tired of cing the no singing, non talented women rise to the top getting super star status and they were treating her like she was just mediocre and she's the real deal. She can really sing w/out machines or additives and she writes beautiful, meaningful music that has a since able story or message. She's the real legendary super star w/out showing all of her body and booty.
It seems like her disrobing kinda helped propel her star status which is sad because her talent should've been enough... but I'm glad to c her back to her own originality. Her talent speaks for itself... She's a true Queen.

She has not depended on sexuality explicit lyrics or an overtly sexy image to sell her music. She just has pure, unique talent and she is captivatingly beautiful. Erykah has that mystical hippie vibe. She really does not produce dance music or R&B “bedroom” music. Artists who focus on those styles of music are quickly tailored with a sexy image. But Erykah has her own sound and has concentrated on her art. That’s what makes her so special.
