Hey lovely Mark, so enjoyed this posting. You are really good at interviewing.... Sharing meals is like... a fundamental human connection. Whilst the food was definitely not my palate... (I did grow up with pigs trotters and black pudding type food).... the convo was fascinating & you were very judicious in your questioning of this young man.

Amber, thankyou for saying that. When I have great students and great classes the job is just the best. The work is the reward. But tough classes are taxing and just in the last two years the tough classes have been taking their toll on me. I remember being so proud of you in Yr11 when you started to flourish in my class. I really didn’t expect it and then you went even further and ended up as my top Yr12 student. I’ll never forget that.

The camera quality is so sharp and crisp! What camera is it? (Maybe give us an affiliate link in the bio hehe :P) The colors look nice and vibrant, have you done any color grading? It’s a DJI Pocket 2. I didn’t colour grade, I film flat (Cine D) for films and grade, but for vlogs I just let the camera take care of it for the most part and it does a reasonable job. Even in low light the camera gets acceptable results (for a vlog). I regret not bringing my mic. So the audio isn’t as crisp as I would usually like. Anyway it was a fun vlog to film, nice to capture a spontaneous conversation like that and share it people! Maybe we’ll do a part 2 in a few years time in Chongqing or Chengdu 😆
Sorry, just saw that I didn’t reply (6 months ago) how rude of me. The DJI pocket has a wireless lapel mic. DJI really have taken a lot of the pain out of vlogging, it’s run and gun, tap and play, all beautiful stuff. I now have a DJI mini 4 drone too. Surely they will have to sponsor me one day. 😏

Yes, a vegan reading of Tucker Eats would be quite bleak. And it gets dark because I do think that vegetarianism/veganism is the moral diet…. But I eat animals daily…. And I don’t care…. Am I a bad person?

Haha, actually I think about this a lot. Its a good case study for understanding myself because I believe I’m choosing to be immoral, I feel like we all write our own narratives that position us as the ‘good guy’ in our own story, we deceive ourselves. In eating meat it’s a clear example of my lack of morality and I don’t even care that I’m being immoral. It says something about what it means to be human……..and…….maybe I think too much 😜
