Cole #1 in my book just simply by he speak about actual shit I’ve been through. I never gang banged or hung around others that did. I took the college route and stayed out the streets. He speaks to 85% of population.
Facts so many of his songs are relatable
He’s not speaking to you just cause you never gang banged
@@mtwo5277 shut up
Cole is a living, breathing example of how to HIP HOP in the mainstream but not be mainstream!
Cole still 1

Lmao Cole is clearly mainstream. And Kendrick still better.
@@Jon155mt obviously over ya head... but either way 🙏🏾
I got Cole then Kendrick then Drake.
Personally I think Cole is one of the best story tellers in rap. He punch lined us to death on the Off Season showing off his rapping ability. His feature run has been crazy and overall I relate to his music more.
if you ain’t got kendrick as 1, your opinion is invalid my guy
Kendrick hasn't dropped in about five years and for some reason in that same time period we have a segment of Rap that keeps his name in this Top 3 conversation. It's annoying at this point. Rap is boring if all it has to offer and acknowledge is Kendrick Drake and Cole.
this
@@user-xz4lc1co2b so I’m not allowed to have an opinion against the norm ? People like you are the worst
@@JuiceWiliker kendrick is clear in almost of every aspect of rapping: punchlines, flows, vocal inflections, lyricism, cadence, metaphors. and you mention storytelling like kendrick hasn’t had three back to back albums which are literally him storytelling a cinematic masterpiece. I relate more to J cole, but kendrick is objectively clear in terms of artistry and rapping
If this is solely hip hop
It’s
1. j.cole - personally honest, speaks to the people, story teller
2. Kendrick- complex in his art, unique stand out in this generation, aggressive
3. Drake- versatile, targets “hip-pop” hits / Shows Vulnerability about women
Just somethings I notice in each, some more then others.
All i know is 4 Your Eyez Only was/is severely under-appreciated…
Absolutely was.....it was actually my favorite album from him
!!!!
Cuz people don't really like lyrics like they say they do. Album was flawless IMO
Exactly. After the second listen, I figured it out.
My favorite Cole albulm

Exactly niggas keep saying he admitted he third no he said the public opinions put him 3 he think he 1 niggas just hate on Cole cause it’s cool to do. Cole been 1 for couple years Kenny been taking a break and Drake CLB is hot mid. Cole tape is better than CLB and Donda easily
@@Tocozym rapping Cole always had Ye and Drake beat lyrically but musically, he doesn’t compare to either. Saying his album is better is merely your personal preference.

@@Tocozym yea I say cole 1, but you can intertwine kdot and cole, they should fasho be 1 and 2 or vice versa easily, to me drake been 3 for awhile
Joe literally has videos from the late 2000s debating Ish about how the machine and the numbers don't make a person more talented or a better artist, yet in 2021, because it's Drake, here we are.

J Cole just dropped a song with Joyner Lucas called YOUR HEART. That shxt is fire. I really think Cole jumped on it to shade Karen Civil because she was talking about Cole on the Breakfast Club (saying he got big and stopped speaking to her)
It’s mid
Shit was dope.
How though? His verse was about being a better man.
Bro that song was probably done way before that Joyner and Karen Civil shit went viral. You think Joyner can just get a Jcole feature then just go out and do a video? Nah thats not how it works. The labels gotta sign off on the feature then they gotta figure out how much the budget is for the video then the label has to sign off on that budget. Alot of paperwork has to get done before these songs can just be released and even more has to be done to get a video with it

It was smart of Drake to say he would give Joe an interview so that he can dangle that carrot 🥕 in front of Joe for years so he doesn’t critique his work.
If Joe really believes he’ll get it lol. I’m sure he’d do it but I just question if he’s dead set got it in the bag
Joe said he can’t sleep without listening Drake. He wasn’t gonna critique him anyway lol

Tired of it tbh. Ppl have may issues with Joe but this is literally my only issue
Cole has been the best since 2018 (a year after Damn). KOD, ROTD3, Off-Season, features run, the tours.
Stop it. You Cole fans are delusional
@@MasterOctagon lol I think it’s a legitimate argument. Drake has the numbers sure, but quality of albums and pure rapping during this above mentioned period? Kendrick has been inactive
Kod wasn’t better than damn by any means so I’d probably say since off season off of quantity alone he’s just dropped so much content and been on so many songs but Kendrick can take it back with another classic album like he always does
Yall cole fans need to get out yall bubble
@@SILMANTV thats why I say after Damn which was 2017. That album was incredible and hard to compete against. But since then, I’d argue Cole.
This is not unlike Cole . He did it to Kanye and Jay-z when watch the thrown dropped . And again with last stretch . He just like to let these dudes know he can air the scene out if he chooses

People that compare music numbers and sports numbers acting like they’re a one-one comparison are fools, point blank and simple.
Krit is criminally underrated
J. Cole is number 1 for me, K dot 2 and Drake 3.... J Cole to me is more lyrical, more relatable, more skillful than all of them.
I was never really into k dot, but he’s very talented and skillful but he’s not too relatable because many people around the world don’t really like or understand him. Drake on the other hand is more successful based on the record sells, but I still put him 3rd. Just my opinion. They are all good though.
Cole was definitely making a statement rapping on a beat Drake only sang on. Drake was smart enough to get ahead of this and pretend to have been in on it
…. Drake literally rocked him to sleep j so beta
Drake J Cole and Kendrick being the center of every top 3 discussion in rap show why Hip Hop media is bias asf
He didn’t pretend to be in on it, he got ahead by openly supporting it. But see, it’s hard to say that with Drake cuz Drake has also been known to randomly support shit that he isn’t tied to.

If he were to drop consistently, I'm willing to bet that he wouldn't be as inspired and it would impact the QUALITY of his work. I actually think it says a lot about an artist that is able to drop consistently and STILL maintain good quality. If you get in the ring enough you WILL lose at some point.

Each of those things can be very irrelevant to how their actual music sounds/ makes u feel thus having no dictation on the order of your top lists
Well said ✅
Well said. Though statistics tell a story. So no. All you said is correct and true. You can't 100 percent off stats and statistics on paper and accolades , awards. Those thi gs count in overall body of work. Yes one will dominate a category... but who's efficiently and balanced dominating all even if he's not number one is he top 5? Along with eye test, hear test. Like we all know ab- soul eats. He is a better lyricist than the top 3. He is there as many others are. Though because the body of work, consistency isn't there. You can't mention top 5. Like LeBron dominates everything. Jordan doesn't. Which some use as catalyst to why he better. In this drake dominates more. And longevity. So easily yes these top 3s. But drake changed the game. Sing rap.... you know. Tutorial after Wayne. Another top. So stats matter.
@@tru7hDevo facts I feel u. On the the lebron/jordan point, even with lebron doing so much more than Jordan on a daily basis there are still things Jordan has done that lebron hasn’t (thanks to espn😂jk). but numbers matter when it comes to coming to a consensus on a subject I suppose. but when it comes to anything personal it can be useless because people’s reasoning can make them asinine. Someone could have drake in their top 3 but have Kendrick or cole over him stickly because of his subject matter of their music but will still have drake in their top 3 cuz they acknowledge his impact/longevity. The personal aspect can negate things & cuz to some degree, using numbers can be like admitting u chose to listen because its popular (or unpopular).a personal top list could have some one like 3stacks who has enough body of work to be in someone’s top 5, but some say he doesn’t or some one whom may be felt is an lowkey big influence, like lil boosie or a Gucci n their crazy career/story can be made a case to be in a top 5 list. No matter what year it is, a movie from the Fast & Furious franchise is always going to sell more than a Tarantino movie. What’s the point?
Exactly. And they only us this logic when it come to drake. I’ve never heard them say Eminem was better than jay z because he sold more records. Or that pac was better than biggie because of sales.
@@zanestarrk6891 EXACTLY! Even the concept of numbers being an “objective” axiom, that’s also attaching meaning to numbers that don’t apply.
Also, once you use numbers to debate skill, then you kinda admit they’re not the best.
I agree with Parks cuz I literally just said that the other day “are we sure this nigga 3?”
Sales don't mean the same nowadays when you can literally press a button an listen to almost anything you want for relatively free. We're in different times
Cole still whipping these ninjas again the secret recipe
I caught that too. Jermaine was throwing A LOT of subliminals at Drake. Even the showcasing kids for views can easily apply to Drake.
Lol he wasn't doing all that.
@@Musa-ut6ce duality. it could be interpret that way but i dont believe so. Cole doesn't seem petty like Drake honestly
This is a dumb. If Cole had a problem with Drake he wouldn't have invited him to come out at his show. Y'all love trying to instigate beef where there is none
@@rodneyscott5450 keep in mind this is the same J. Cole who dissed Wale on the 2nd verse of False Prophets then hung out with him at a basketball game a few days later.
It's one thing to not be friends. It's another if you are friends but still competitive. And as passive aggressive J. Cole be, this is exactly his M.O. He's cool with Kendrick and Drake, but DON'T appreciate in his mind people may see him behind those dudes. How people focused on those dudes and leaving him out of the discussion. So killing it on someone else's beat, pointing out and differentiate the things that make them more popular and how he's still better than despite the concensus, J. Cole no doubt was throwing shots. The same way Kendrick called out names in Control, it wasn't anything personal but the MC in them had to let it known where they stood.
@@darrellglover493 hmm i like this take
Joe Budden looks Cuban right here
How is J. Cole more artistic than Drake? Cole is pure rap. Drake taps into various genres outside of rap.
Drake may be more versatile in terms of his genre of delivery (whether singing or trying a dancehall beat), but versatility in that mode delivery isn’t necessarily artistic.
Rapping with different flows WELL, having different types of content, concepts, etc make you more artistic, in my eyes. Ja Rule rapped and sang. But you could never convince me he’s more artistic than Lupe lol.
I don’t understand in hip hop how the masses who aren’t the originators of the music are the trendsetters and taste makers for the music.
While everyone out here keeps repeating the same names. Us real hip-hop heads are listening too. Che Noir, Ransom, Skyzoo, eTo, Flee Lord, Boldy James, RJ Payne, Elzhi, Cambatta, Common, Westside Gunn, Gift Of Gab, Stove God Cooks, Roc Marciano and Tobe Nwigwe.
Ran have a phenomenal album and we acting like Coles boring ass record was “performing at a higher level”
ROLLS ROYCE BREAKLIGHTS! Stove God is dope. Prodigy's protégé Flee Lord dope! Boldy and the whole Grieselda squad. Preach your shit. That's that grimy hip hop. But if kdot drops, hip hop is gonna listen you feel me?
...You Just Named Majority Of Dudes Without Mainstream Access....LOL....Real Hip Hop Don't Have To Be Completely Underground.....I'm Tired Of This Arguement....
You just named underground rappers lol doesn’t make them any better than the ones with commercial success
I love Gunn but Conway is better
I got Cole over Kendrick
Cole flipped his beat …it’s what real “mc’s” do…some pass some fail.
That don’t make it any extra special chill
Don’t kill me. But that Cole shit was kind of regular to me. But granted I’m not that much of a Cole fan and since he only raps it may seem like that to me. As a Drake fan he doesn’t only rap so when he does it’s like you not gone get this all the time so it’s gone be a lil more special
🤦🏾♂️ Swear A ninja can’t say his opinion on iiissh w/o someone sayin blah blah blah yo chill ..🤦🏾♂️ y’all ninja’s I swear …it called a opinion for a reason 🤣
Cole no1 always ...fuck that bronze shit ...give the man his diamonds
Cole number 1
Drake ain’t even top 3
Drake just brought out cole in a show last night. On stage he brought up the freestyle to cole in front of him and the audience, and mentioned the k dot and drake line and said, to him cole is the #1 and best to touch the mic. It’s literally all love and joe always tryna pinpoint non existing beef. They’re alll so different which is why they should just co exist, but it’s Kendrick cole drake for me. In terms of talent. In terms of music preference it’s drake and then tied for cole and Kendrick, it just depends on the mood their vibes are literal opposites
You mean J Cole Brought out Drake right.
The 🦉is the One ☝🏾 never doubt it
Off what Cole did last year and what Kendrick done in the past two or something, it's crazy to put Kendrick above him
Everyone keep saying Cole, Dot or Drake 1 “easily”. I guess it’s not that easy 😭
Cole shouldn’t even be in the conversation…
