This is where it gets crazy though. J Cole is referencing Greek Mythology, and particularly Prometheus (the god of fire). Prometheus is best known for defying the gods, by stealing fire from them and giving it to humans, thus making them be self sufficient and not reliant on the gods. This brought forth every single advancement in humanities history. As a punishment, Prometheus was sentenced to a life of torture, where he would be strapped to a giant rock, and eagles would come and eat his liver everyday on a loop 🔁 essentially.
So J Cole saying "who gave the world more fire" he's also saying he continues to give mankind the ability to think and liberate himself (same way Prometheus did). And end it with "but got less reward.." as he's not not properly recognized as one of the greatest to ever touch the mic. An injustice he equates to living a life of perpetual torture.

Yeah but the main meaning behind it is that if they shoot shots (playing with extendos) they'll just be spun around and die (like a Judge on the Voice). It can also be a double entendre (but could be a reach), where he is saying that they don't know how to shoot so they end up spinning around like a clown while shooting the gun from its recoil. All in all, he is saying that nowadays rappers flaunt guns and think they are hard/tough, but in reality they are cowards who don't know how to shoot their shots and end up getting themselves killed for their stupidity.
