For the last 3 years i have done the following. On the first Monday of the year i save a £1, £2 on the Tuesdays, £3 on the Wednesday, etc till i do £7 on the sunday. Then i start £1 on the monday, £2 on the Tuesday - etc. By the end of the year i have £1456 that i have not missed - it's a Christmas bonus. I manually do this as a reminder of the importance of saving - takes me about 2 mins a day.
That's the easiest method, I get lost off with random amounts. If it's the same daily amount makes it so much easier. I might pay myself £28 every Monday.
I use a credit card for all my purchases during the month. At the end of the month I get paid, then mortgage etc comes out, I pay the card off in full and what’s leftover I manually transfer to a top rate savings account. Seems the easiest way to me but I enjoyed the video going through various options. I think a lot comes down to willpower and how likely you are ti be tempted to spend your money.

That's a great habit to have!
I've done the same but I started in March until February the following year to save towards paying my Council Tax in one lump sum.
@@samanthahardy9903 Nice one. At least one bill not to concern yourself with throughout the year.

Hi Andy, 👋 Greetings from USA. Thanks for sharing valuable info. I'm trying the envelopes challenge of $5,050. Have a great week. 🇺🇸 👍
Good luck!
Compound Effect is best
We start with 1p on New Year’s Day then 2nd Jan 2p do doubling each day. Gives you a small fortune on 31 Dec - Awesome 👏

I do my own trackers for my savings challenges but also use Plum, Monzo plus I do have a S/O for PYF.
Sounds like a good mix!
Sorry if this is a really stupid question but can I have two current accounts and more than one saving account (with different providers)?
Not a stupid question at all. And yes you can have multiple current and savings accounts across any number of providers
Iv got a part time job that pays money into an account and I save up for Christmas
WOW, what an absolutely fantastic idea.
Hi
Great video
I have a Monzo account I do the is £1 a day challenge
Hi Andy! How soon after switching (to claim a switch bonus) can I switch again or close that account? Thanks!
Pretty much once you've got the bonus you can switch again - unless the account offer specifically states you must stay for a set time.
New subscriber here.
Great video.
Yes profit firsts !!!
Hi Andy watched your viedo need your advice don't know if I should save up money notes or change in an envelope want to start envelope challenge.
FYI opening a Monzo account messes with your credit score!!!!!
Only if you also apply for an overdraft
@@BeCleverWithYourCash I didn't, it's their free most basic account. That's why it was even more confusing and maddening.
You guys on Spotify?
And Monzo pays you interest
I'm waiting for someone to suggest a challenge where you save 1p in week 1, then 2p on week 2, the 4p on week 3 etc. So doubling each time...😉
You just did!
Oh cool. Saving is nice. But have you tried making more money?
A mix of the two is always good!
How to save
The end numbers on your bank account every day transfer it into a savers account so of you have £236.50 transfer the £6.50
