Sun Country=Fun Country? | Sun Country 737-800 Minneapolis (MSP)-Columbus (CMH) | Ooh, That Smell.

(booming voice) “WHEN WE LAST LEFT YOU…”…is that a thing we do on RUclips? No? OK, then.
Upon completion of my visit to the Northwest History Center ( • Delta E175 Comfort+ | ... ), it was time to head back to Ohio. Granted, this day trip was a bit eccentric in the first place but, in the name of free exit row and, occasionally, Comfort+ seats for the next year, was necessary.
The obvious choice would have been to return on Delta, but their mileage and cash fares on a round-trip this close in were astronomical. Fortunately-and this was part of the strategy for wherever I went on this mileage run-I had a backup plan.
Sun Country Airlines (SY) operates between Minneapolis/St Paul (MSP) and Columbus (CMH) typically twice a week but, on this weekend, were also operating a Saturday flight, as they operate charters for Major League Soccer and CF Montreal needed a ride home after playing the Columbus Crew. (The flight attendants were even confused as to if our flight was a charter or scheduled).
They also operate very affordably, though there are some catches, as Sun Country has morphed into an Ultra Low-Cost Carrier (ULCC) in the vein of Spirit Airlines, Allegiant Air, and Frontier Airlines.
What’s this little airline like, what can you do to pass the time, and why is there a Lynyrd Skynyrd reference in my title? I flew them so you don’t have to*!

I fly into and out of CMH all the time. Such a nice airport! I once landed in CMH and parked in C56 and I could see my plane (along with an MD80 parked next to it) from my car, due to the gates close proximity to the parking garage. Good times.
