  • Just before noon, a male in his twenties was southbound on US 75 between Calvary and Shepherd Hill Road in Willis in a Toyota Corolla. As he came into the curve he crossed into the oncoming lane and was struck head-on by a Dodge pickup. North Montgomery County Fire responded to the scene and after about 20 minutes were able to free the driver. He was transported to HCA Conroe in critical condition with a head injury and multiple extremity fractures. The driver of the Dodge pickup suffered minor injuries but refused EMS transport. Wilis Police were assisted by DPS in working the crash. The road reopened just after 3 pm.

    My brother had an accident like that. He fell asleep and crossed into the other lane into a pickup truck. The driver also refused medical help. I think that when he saw my brother in such poor condition that it traumatized him. My brother had head injuries and compound fractures to his left leg and arm. Almost didn’t survive, but he pulled through it. He didn’t sue my brother for his negligence. I think if it would have been from speed or being drunk he might have. People, get the proper rest and don’t drive if you’re tired.

      I drive a 2022 Ram 1500. Pickups are ok...unless you get hit in the back, especially on an interstate. I saw an accident (unfolded right in front me) on i10 where a typical sedan speeding ran into the back of pickup (a Silverado), causing it to fishtail and rollover killing the driver of the truck. Also pickups are nothing compared to an 80,000 lb 18-wheeler. Years ago I saw a 2015 Ford F-250 that was darn near unrecognizable after hitting a Peterbilt head on. F-250 guy was dui on marijuana, died on scene. Stay safe!

      @@eyewin85 Great comment. The circumstances of all accidents differ. A big pickup might not save you. I know of an F-150 driver who died in an accident a few months ago, smashed between two semis. He was on the freeway, and a semis was in front of him, and another semi was behind him. Traffic slowed down, and the semi driver behind him wasn't paying attention, didn't stop, and plowed the F-150 into the semi in front. On the other hand, a small "unsafe" car may allow more control if you need to do an evasive maneuver. The small size makes them more nimble. One of my cars is a subcompact. There was a wrong-way driver in my lane on New Year's Eve, likely drunk. With my small car, I was able to safely make a sharp swerve into the lane next to me, and I completely avoided a head-on collision. If I were driving an SUV, it would have probably tipped over.

    • @jonasf4065
      @jonasf4065 9 месяцев назад

      An f150 may not save you in regular crashes. F150 is lighter than big, tough SUVs like bmw x5 and Mercedes gle. F150 is almost always going to lose in a head on vs those. Maybe f350 is a lot better

      Depends how much crime takes place in the area at that time and how often they get fatal crashes. Sometimes these things are training opportunities for officers that haven't dealt with it before. If someone dies , there's at least 5 vehicles there investigating, directing traffic, and coordinating the cleanup/towing.

    People who can afford to drive trucks. The others who can only afford a car get hammered by the larger vehicle. Some people can’t afford a car and walk to a bus stop if the bus goes to their neighborhood get hammered even more by the heavier truck. To me, some of this involves class bias. Because, some people can’t afford a new car or truck or keep an ancient vehicle running. More people will find that they are unable to afford a car and keep a roof over their heads. The older the car, the less safe it becomes. The smaller car or being on foot gets people killed. Unfortunately this country caters more to automobiles than people.

The BRICS economy (Russia, China, India, South Africa, Brazil) talks about the psychosis on their MSM, & that the 'weight loss prescriptions' rarely work after just one round so many of them get the full 12 week for complete psychosis. It's extremely funny & scary b/c everything I mentioned ^ is true, though I don't know how accurate their information is at full war-scale.
