Yes, if the Bills lose out and either the Jets or the Patriots win out, either one of them would beat out the Bills. The Patriots would win on the head-to-head tiebreaker and the Jets would win the tiebreaker by being 4-2 in the division while the Bills would be 3-3. Of course, none of that is going to happen but what he is saying in the video, that if Miami loses the next two games, then the Bills win the division before they take the field again is simply not true.
Miami is NOT going to lose BOTH of their next two games, so no, I don;t believe the Bills will "lock up" the AFC East before they play next against the 49ers. Also, truthfully, I think the Bills have the hardest schedule of the three current best record AFC teams. I don;t pay as much attention to the so-called "strenngth of schedule" of the remainign teams based upon their 2024 season W-L record, because everybody DOES NOT PLAY THE SAME SCHEDULE. So it can be meaningless to say an upcoming opponent is a "bad team/easy game" simply because it has many lossesif those losses are to top teams ... The next three games for the Bills -- SF 49ers, AT the LA Rams, and AT the Detroit Lions -- will be an incredibly hard stretch. The 49ers are locked in a 4-way claw-fest with all other teams in their division to make the playoffs, AND the Niners are getting healthier. They will battle the Bills furiously. So too, the LOOOONG trip out to the West Coast will take its toll on the Bills, and the Rams will battle Buffalo furiously as well because they too are in the claw-fest to make the playoffs (with likely ONLY the NFC West division champ making the playoffs because all those teams are evenly-matched record-wise and beat each other up to attain even/mediocre records, even though they are fully talented and capable teams). Detroit is currently the best team in the NFL and they are fighting both to hold off challengers in their division and to secure the #1 seed in their playoffs, so that will be a brutal game as well. The Bills' final 3 games -- even though they will be against teams with BAD W-L records who will NOT be making the playoffs [Patriots 2x with the Jets in-between] -- will nonetheless NOT be "easy" because they are allm against divisional rivals who have tough defenses and always play the Bills tough (and often "split" their games with the Bills). The Patriots are MUCH improved, and it is not unreasonable to posit that the Bills could play decently in all 6 remaining games yet still only amass a 3-3 record in the 6 remaining regular season games -- especially if the Bills sew up the AFC East title early and also stumble a time or two and lose to more playoff-desperate teams before we ever play the final 3 games against divisional rivals. If that happens such that securing the #1 seed in the AFC playoffs is "off the table" because we can no longer catch KC or Pittsburgh because they have kept winning while the Bills have stumbled, I can even see McDermott playing back-ups against the Patriots and Jets (especially the final game) to rest the starters and give them the closest thing to a "bye" heading into the playoffs because only the #1 seed gets a week off to rest an heal a bit.
Do you think the Buffalo Bills will LOCK-UP the AFC EAST during our BYE week?! #GoBills
Not yet
I disagree about the game accomplishing nothing. It definitely accomplished that the Chiefs season will not go undefeated...
That is not what we're looking for. The one seed and bye in first round is in play
Screw the division its already ours! They need number 1 seed that is the goal right now!!!
Let’s go BUFFALO ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Only way we don't win division is if we have a prolonged Mitch trubisky sighting
❤❤❤❤Go Bills
Bills were here last year. ! Can Bills win in playoffs, that's the issue
Kenmore Clan
We want number 1 seed easiest way to the Superbowl
Is this accounting for NE?? If the Bills lose out and NE goes undefeated, wouldn't they win the division??
