The reason why I'm fat is so obvious, always when I go to Cluckin Bell, I order two number 9's, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45's, one with cheese, and a large soda.
"If you think supplements are going to help you, even MY supplements, forget it!" I'm sorry wait, did he just tell people correct information at his own expense?
No the message was for those who do not take supplements with a serious life style based around becoming a better version of themselves. If you dont watch what you eat but you take protein twice a day and skip all the other regular healthy life options it wont mean jack shit to your evolution. Keep paying attention to your Jody and reflect on what happens when you do certain things. Find your rhythm and make better choices and you'll find your entire mind and body become what you always dreamt of. Nothing worthwhile is easy :)
James Estrada yes! Valuable advice for anyone who is looking to progress. Not just in nutrition or training, but in every area of life. Every single person is unique and different. What works for one might not work for another. We need to stop comparing ourselves and get in tune with what works for us.
Not always 0% bullshit. Jeff's (specific and rare) food advice is a good 75% bullshit. Otherwise, it's a good channel and certainly the muscle development tips are spot on.
Question? So if i just finished an intensive qorkout on shoulders or chest. What should i eat? How much? Brcause i go across the street and eat a large playe of rice and chicken with veggies. Is that bad?
I am 35 years old and 5'8", and I went from 219 lbs to 145 lbs in about 7 months WITHOUT working out OR lifting weights. I stopped eating refined sugar (no soda, no candy), I drank only water, I cut out gluten (breads), and I ate healthy fats like coconut oil, avocados, and nuts. In addition, I stopped eating until I was stuffed. I prepared healthy portions and did not go for seconds on most of my meals. I allowed a cheat meal once or twice every 2 weeks where I'd eat whatever the fuck I wanted. It is truly that simple, and it becomes progressively easier as the weeks go by. Your body will start to hunger for healthy food and you will naturally want to eat healthy! At this point it's been 10 months, I hover around 142 lbs, I eat pescatarian except on cheat meals if I feel like it, and I'm very lean. My cheat meals are usually fish, chicken, salad, veggies & fruit at the buffet. That's actually what my body craves now--I don't even feel like eating sugar anymore because when I eat sugar I feel fucking terrible. Sugar makes you feel like shit when you eat it excessively. You don't realize it when you're overweight because you've forgotten what it feels like to be healthy. Being healthy feels fucking rad. Eat healthy and you will physically feel FUCKING RAD all of the time.
Zatta I second that. Used to experience it but it stopped since.. the munchies were kicking in daily. (too much weed :^) Found out its easy to lose control in this path once starting to eat lots of sweets, but im going back in, wish me luck i guess

Love watching Jeff tell it like it is. I can lose the weight, but can’t ever seem to lose the fat, but in the end, wind up starving myself and just falling back into the bad stuff while exercising.
People fail to lose weight and get discouraged because they don't take time to learn the basics and keep it simple. Imagine if people did this for their first year : 3 Months : Walk 10hrs a week. Start making gradual nutrition changes. Next 6 Months : Keep up regular walking and add in basic bodyweight exercises 2-3x per week. Start tweaking and eventually fine tune macros/cals. Final 3 Months : Keep up regular walking and if bodyweight can be done with no assistance/modification, basic lifting plan 3x per week. Also finalized nutrition plan. If you kept it simple and used patience/consistency like this for the first year, you'd easily be able to transition into more intense training and specialized goals. But people just want to latch onto fitness trends and get instant gratification.
You are right but I politely disagree. Maybe don’t go for instant weight loss (and expect it) but my own journey has taught me to progress with exercises not just regular cardio which basically does nothing and bores people.

Jeff is awesome. Whereas most supplement companies and RUclips “experts” want try to sell to the 35-40 percent body fat, Jeff wants you to get yourself into the sub 20 percent range before even considering his products. This is the mark or someone who really cares about his clients and their results!! I’m proud to say I’ve been following this channel for over 2 years now and went down to about 10!perceny body fat from roughly 38 percent. It’s been a long journey and I’m enjoying the dig, the torture, because my inspiration is Jeff. I know to look like him takes a long time, but it’s exciting when you get lower in body fat and keep seeing new areas of your muscles pop. That is what inspires me to keep digging.
Love that your videos call me out on my bull crap and excuses. Honestly, it's motivating me. Seeing results about 2.5 months in. Weight had gone down a bit but now staying the same. However, seeing muscle growth and clothes fitting better. Thank you
You're ruining your body and mind and probably not seeing results, you have to let your body rebuild the broken muscle fibers. If you train intensely everyday you won't see shit happen.

I love your videos, thank you! I’m down 42lbs so far hitting the gym, eating better and utilizing techniques from your channel and other sources. This video is SO true! Eating better is 100% the first and most important step.
Christopher Cirocco I wouldn't be able to read this comment if I weren't awake, also how can I hear you when comments don't make sounds? I don't think you thought this through yes I'm being retarded on purpose, I'm just making fun if how the phrase "wake up people" is used ALOT nowadays
Love this video, Jeff. I am a nutrition student and I have always held the view we should be coaching people to be more mindful of what, and more importantly how much, food they are eating regardless of what it is before they try anything else. Adherence is the key.
"Perfect is the enemy of the good" is such a relatable statement for me, always setting too ambitious goals only to fail them and then lose motivation to succeed even less ambitious goals
Jeff, I love the videos, great information. I'm in Afghanistan and working out everyday. The videos are spot on with the science. Thanks for the videos, I've lost 28 lbs so far and climbing. Keep up the great work.
Thank you Jeff.. I’m walking around 240 lbs 33% body fat the heaviest I’ve been in my entire life not understanding why I’ve struggled so much the last two years to lose fat.. this is exactly what I needed to be educated on. Thank you!
Definitely Not Kenny solid advice, all you have to do is cut out process and fast food and ofc sugars if you don't like working out and want to cut just avoid those foods and your body fat will lower cardio if you want to shred last bit.
Just have to thank you dude! I've never seen such a knowledgeable and unbiased fitness/nutritional trainer. You cut right to the point in each video. You don't sugarcoat anything. You throw what has to be done, right out there! You're one of, if not, the best instructor on RUclips. Your advice is very helpful and inspiring! You've helped me perceive why my diets are failing and what I have to do to get things done. Thank you!
You may be lower bodyfat in reality, but retaining a fuckload of water. Hit the sauna for an hour, quit creatine, lower sodium intake, etc get rid of water weight. It is usually the problem
This is so true. I was 275lbs (all fat) not giving a rats ass what I consumed... Drinking a case of soda a day, fast food and garbage. I also had really bad knee and ankle injuries keeping me from doing too much physical activity... I began by cutting the soda, started losing some weight, started eating less fast food, lost more weight. I dropped to 230 without any exercise easy. It then started getting easier to make healthier choices like taking the stairs instead of elevators, or walking instead of taking the subway and weight training. I now have a pretty solid diet, 190 lbs and building some lean muscle. The journey has been great so far and it's only just begun.
@@cactusmalone my knee is generally alright for the most part.. I protect it when squatting and whatnot. It only really gives me problems after kickboxing or running. My ankle is a whole different story.. That thing has 15 screws and a long plate up the side (unfortunate mosh pit incident) This really messes with my range of motion, it hurts far less after losing weight, but still aches daily and if I work it too hard it swells.
This is seriously great advise. I think the best thing he touched on is consistency and our expectations on ourselves. It’s easy to start something, and think that you will be perfect, but then when that honeymoon phase is over, it’s easier to give in and make a mistake. You need to know that you will not be perfect in the journey. You just need to keep going even when you slip, keep going. That’s all
this is such a great video! Just what i need to focus my efforts so i can go from 32.4% body fat back to 25 where i was 4 years ago, and then ideally focus on the dream 20%. Thank you! I also really like your channel because it talks about facts and the logical reasons why a 5 minute HIT workout won't burn much fat in a day but it will add up over the longer, and that it may not be most relevant at 30% body fat. And when you say guys I never think you just mean boys, definitely feels like you are talking to anyone, regardless of gender. excellent!
Your sliding scale with the 60/40, 70/30, etc is exactly what we need to hear. Getting into shape and getting lean is all about your level of consistency of making the right eating decisions. ...And pointing out that the goal of perfection (aka 100/0) is not a realistic or even helpful goal... Thanks Jeff.
Hazel nut coffee was a life saver, black no sugar 3 cups a day keeps my sugar, and food cravings low and just eat my regular meals. Gotta find away to substitute the bad choices in life with something that is albeit not perfect but certainly better than pounding down a box of donut holes every other day.
dude this is so true, especially when you are trying to get insight and help from youtube, there’s so many different methods to attack weight loss and they don’t combine that well like heavy hiit lifting and trying to get on keto for the first time etc, it’s hard to know what advice fits into your methods
Hey man. Youve helped me a lot when no one could. Thx for every advice you gave us and i rly love your videos! I used to be 107 kg and im 16 yo. After 9 months i am 88.6kg and i can almost see my abs. 💗💗💗💗💗
Just discovered your videos and intend to use them to help me impress upon my son the value of good nutrition versus simply working out and praying for the best. I do preach that to him, but I think it will leave more of an impact on him if he sees it from someone with some credibility. Thanks, and keep up the good work!!
Jeff I really want to thank you. I am not on one of your programs, but I've been listening to recommendations from you and making changes in my life. You gave me the tools and direction to reach my goals and since March (2017) I've dropped 36 pounds. You keep it real and I think that's why I finally understand what I needed to do to make a change. Again thank you for the great information you put out there. Keep up the great work.
Very well explained. That helps 95 percent of the people I guess. What's most difficult is not changing your lifestyle but not seeing any result even after two months intense training as in my case. powerful tips I found are drinking less water, (less than 1.5l) skipping breakfast (changing it with just a big cup of tea) and eating more lentils and bean, and trying a vegan diet for two months. now I am getting rid of fat and I see improvement every week which makes me more determined to continue
Look up your blood type diet. It probably just aligns with that a bit too. I wouldn't agree with the drinking less water part. That is crucial. Less water just means as you dehydrate, your body will have less water in storage to use for essential functions which will make you look smaller and lose water weight, but not the right kind of weight.
I've been slacking and making the same errors again. This video just happened to pop on my recommendations. Good wake up call. I had seen this video when I first started my change 5months ago. Helped then and helping now.
Jeff, I just started watching your channel. Solid advice! July 10th of last year, I was 6'4" 250 lbs and 32.7% body fat. Now I'm 205.4 with 25.2% body fat. How much body fat % can you reasonable lose a week, if you're say hitting your workouts and nutrition spot on during that 80/20 time? I'm spot on with my nutrition and I only eat out a couple times a week at the very most. Thanks, Jeff!
Thank you Jeff. I've been slowly but surely making better choices to lose weight. My friends keep asking me for advice for eating and stuff and I tell them basically exactly what you said. You can't start out eating perfectly and cutting out all of your bad foods because you'll just end up snapping and eating junk in surplus again. You have to slowly phase out your bad habits. Thanks for being one of the few people on fitness RUclips that has actual good advice
black coffee - cut the milk / cream humus - use instead of mayo wraps (sprouted grain best) - no bread avocado - instead of cheese hot sauce - season with no calories

"Perfect is the enemy of the good." This is so relatable to my life. Never heard it put that way. That will stick with me forever. Thanks.
Ya kinda applies to people too. People trying to be perfect are usually mean
true
Update - I was right. I said this phrase in a conversation with my friend just last week. Thanks again.
The 4 word weight loss program: Move more. Eat less.
I love your videos, thank you! I’m down 42lbs so far hitting the gym, eating better and utilizing techniques from your channel and other sources.
This video is SO true! Eating better is 100% the first and most important step.
Wake up people Fix your nutrition
Christopher Cirocco I wouldn't be able to read this comment if I weren't awake, also how can I hear you when comments don't make sounds? I don't think you thought this through
yes I'm being retarded on purpose, I'm just making fun if how the phrase "wake up people" is used ALOT nowadays
DoHickey lmfao 😂👏
I’ve been eating right for over 8 months and I haven’t lost fat
Great video!!!
Edward Kenway because u aren’t eating right
Love this video, Jeff. I am a nutrition student and I have always held the view we should be coaching people to be more mindful of what, and more importantly how much, food they are eating regardless of what it is before they try anything else. Adherence is the key.
Perfect is enemy of the 'good'... That is for me
Get rid of all sugar containing products, the pounds will fall off!
What are you doing in Afghanistan?
I like how Jeff says French fries. He makes them sound exotic
That’s the best and most truthful video I saw on weight loss.
Very true, unfortunately my parents are like that when they try to loose weight once in a while lol
You are the literally best coach on health and fitness out there.
Worked for me... I lost 55lbs...

Thank you Jeff.. I’m walking around 240 lbs 33% body fat the heaviest I’ve been in my entire life not understanding why I’ve struggled so much the last two years to lose fat.. this is exactly what I needed to be educated on. Thank you!
Jeff trying hard not to laugh at his cinnamon toast crunch punchline. 😂
can we get advice for around 15% body fat who are aiming for 10%
Don Sandoval Same here
Don Sandoval cut out processed sugar and fatty foods and it should lower naturally
Cutting out processed food that are greasy, sweet, etc. Personally, fasted workouts have been working ok.
Definitely Not Kenny solid advice, all you have to do is cut out process and fast food and ofc sugars if you don't like working out and want to cut just avoid those foods and your body fat will lower cardio if you want to shred last bit.
Don Sandoval bump
Just have to thank you dude! I've never seen such a knowledgeable and unbiased fitness/nutritional trainer. You cut right to the point in each video. You don't sugarcoat anything. You throw what has to be done, right out there! You're one of, if not, the best instructor on RUclips. Your advice is very helpful and inspiring! You've helped me perceive why my diets are failing and what I have to do to get things done. Thank you!
That one was good advice. Although i am stuck at the 15-18% bodyfat and sometimes i wish there would be more tips to burst out of that plateau.
Kupoking Red'Ak patience that last stubborn fat is the last to go.
carlosRules 45 really ?
Get involved in an actual sport that you enjoy. Those extra hours spent in that activity will do the job.
go on a full ketogenic diet problem solved
And when you say guys I never think you just mean boys, definitely feels like you are talking to anyone, regardless of gender. excellent!
Jeff ... i needed this. Btw....my problem is not french fries. It's B-E-E-R.
i feel you bro
Jason Crismore u switched to light beer, but only once or twice a week. It's lame, but it works
hiphophead555 you mean no carbs right?
Drink liquor.
I can't tell if you are joking or not.
the second you speak, is the moment that you make sense!!! love this channel
Right on Jeff, basically: sugar and bad fats (canola/soy) are addictive and need to be eliminated. Which is really difficult in the West.
Thank you for this, made me realize that its ok to do your best when money is no longer around, it has been working for me. Thanks again.
I love this guys channel. Very honest. And scientific
I'm trying not to laugh- Cinnamon Toast Crunch. love the honesty!
Cliff Brower hahaha yeah well I'm getting my cinnamon
Lol the Cinnamon Toast Crunch had me going to!
Just discovered your videos and intend to use them to help me impress upon my son the value of good nutrition versus simply working out and praying for the best. I do preach that to him, but I think it will leave more of an impact on him if he sees it from someone with some credibility. Thanks, and keep up the good work!!

damn i got called out on everything in this video
Me too.. 😑
I am thinking of doing Jeff's tutorial reps as the total no. of my followers and then posting it!
Helped then and helping now.
another great video i love your content keep this up i am only going to learn more from you
i love ur content aswell plz dont stop uploading
putting science into this shit yhhh

It's funny. I was lifting heavily for almost a month, but I wasn't watching my carbs. At the end, I was definitely bigger, but I was also puffy.
Jeff! You inspire me every day to smash my gym sessions. Thank you so much brother! You are a true inspiration!!
I always end up going back to Jeff's videos.
I am losing fat. Thank you for all the great advice Jeff. I haven’t reached my goal yet but six months in and I’ve seen huge gains and changes.
"The damage that you do by not paying attention to what you are putting in your mouth" - Jeff Cavaliere, Athlean-X (2017)
*Grabs fries before watching*
XynoGaming haha, more like leave the fries in the 40 of 60/40 and cut something else out!
😭😭
black coffee - cut the milk / cream humus - use instead of mayo wraps (sprouted grain best) - no bread avocado - instead of cheese hot sauce - season with no calories
Like this if Jeff should drop a diss track on six pack shortcuts 😂😂😂
I would laugh my ass off if he did that
William Michell I used to think sixpackshortcuts was actually legit, that was many years ago though, now it's very obvious that he's full of shit
@1:20 is hilarious... "it's not white rice or brown rice that's keeping you here... its French fries" 😂
Perry Ellis alcohol? That's usually a huge problem or maybe just a ton of calories with food that isn't that bad for you
One of the best, straightforward and honest weight loss videos I’ve ever seen
Me chugging energy drinks : "Damn, that's smart."
I can’t give them up either 😂😂😂
They make me less depressed 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Get zero sugar version they're like 2 calories
**Eating McDonald's intensifies **

*Eats McDonalds peacefully* ... watches ATHLEAN-X video ... *Eats Mcdonalds stressfully*
quief latifa lmao
Truer words were never spoken. I have been on the journey for a year, and he nails my last year with this process of thinking!
I’m so consistent on hitting the gym my eating habits are hard to break I need help I’ve lost 40 pounds so far I need 20 more and I’ll be healthy
this video should be flagged and demonetized because I was offended by the truth
Please tell me your joking
lol
😂😂😂
One of the best, honest video's I have seen on youtube. Very honest and great advice.
I love ur honesty jeff... keep up the great work
Hi Jeff, can you make a video on how to lose the last few pounds, like from 12-13% to 10% bodyfat.
If you need to drop a few pounds need to drop down to 10% body fat eat more clean and do more cardio
hiit
The amazing thing is that he's really honest, Hes not advertising his product, hes not marketing a 30 day routine, he's trying to help us all improve our lifestyle! I'm a 17 year old guy, 6 foot, I'm skinny fat, more fat less skinny.. I'm just starting down my body transformation, you're stuff is amazing I'll implement your advice into my life the best I can, and I'll let you know how it goes, you're amazing Jeff, you've changed a lot of lives.. Keep up the good work !!:)
👍I started out skeptical of this guy but so far every single thing he has said / advised is the truth & actually works (for me) IMHO. 💡YOU CAN’T OUT TRAIN A BAD DIET/NUTRITION. Thank you. 💞
I felt personally attacked when he said Cinnamon Toast Crunch 😆👌
Bro i was thinking of eating 2 bowl of it tomorrow🤣🤣🤣
Preach! Appreciate you speaking the truth. My weakness is sugar and not being consistent.
Best video ever, great advise, "Perfect is the enemy of good"
That says it all.
deeply inspired man thank you!
Amen. He told it like it is. The truth hurts sometimes, but it can set you free.
LMAO. He was so mad when he said "Guys, it's the french fries" 🤣👉
I am just waiting for Jesse's epic transformation.
Commentary on perfectionism is so important. Thank you. I needed that.
