Mossberg 590 feeding problem FIXED!!!!

- This is a detailed video on how to fix your feeding problem with your Mossberg 590. It has nothing to do with a weak spring. It has nothing to do with your shell stop. It is your shell interrupter. Long story short all you need to do is shave about a millimeter off of the tip and you will see your shells extracting as they should. Semper fi devils!
I came for the technical, stayed for the swears, then left with the knowledge. Perfect video.
Hahahaha greatest comment ever! Thanks brother!!!

The way you talked, I knew you were a fellow Marine before I saw the "Semper fi devils!" and you saying you were a Marine. It brought a smile to my face.
Thank you for the info, hoping I can get my Mossberg 500 to work.
Hell yeah semper Fi brother. If you look through the comment section there is a lot of people that trick helped. Let me know if it helps you
Thank you for this video. My 590 developed this problem after ~200 rounds. With a few rounds in the tube, the spring pressure would keep the cartridges aligned and overcome the sideways push from the interrupter. But if just one mini-shell was in the tube, the interrupter easily pushed it too far sideways so that the cartridge stop still interfered. I could also see plenty of score marks on the brass casing. After rounding off the sharp point on the interrupter, all seems well, but we'll see what happens on the next range day.
What I don't understand is why it took 200 rounds for the problem to show up - it was flawless until after a range day yesterday...makes me think something else is also going on that is yet unexplained publicly (but Mossberg probably knows).
I'm glad I can help you out brother. It is extremely frustrating getting such a beautiful firearm and having it malfunction for such a stupid fucking reason. Mossberg should have been on that problem from the gate
Also on why it took so long for it to start fucking up is completely oblivious to me. Mine started fucking up immediately as soon as I got the gun.
Just bought the maverick 88 today and was having feeding issues. A little 320 sand paper and this did the trick. Thanks for the video.

i found this video to be hilarious. thank you for posting. i have a 18.5" 590 and i was so sure that it was a mag tube spring issue. mine came with an after market Choate +1 and i assumed the dealer that was selling them did not put the appropriate spring in. im not so sure i want to try and file the interrupter. but good information anyways.

broooooo you are AWESOME! My Mossberg 590 Shockwave is only 4 mos old. took it out twice. yesterday would absolutely not feed and was marring the shells. I did what you show and barely sanded the end of the interrupter so it wasnt sharp. Hi brother, I'm facing the same issue with my Fabarm STF 12 shotgun. Could you tell me what tool you used to file the shell interrupter, or perhaps the type of sandpaper you found effective? Keep up the good work. Thanks a lot!
Ok so first I want to say, do this at your own risk. Ok now that we got that out of the way, I just used a harbor freight file set. The ones with a red handle and swiped it a few times. DO NO GO CRAZY TAKING OFF MATERIAL!

I'm glad I can help brother. With the way 2021 is looking you're going to need that shotgun to work perfectly.
Mine is getting low brass stuck in the chamber. I think I finally found the problem. I never noticed with the barrel nut tight, the nut bottoms on the tube and the barrel is still loose. Tube appears to be bottomed in the receiver, think I'm going to stone the end of the tube so the nut goes on further
There's an idea. Let me know how it works out.
I got the same Mossberg 590 model as you do and had the same feeding problem. After watching your video, I did exactly the same thing and it WORKS!!!! It's really the interrupter causing the stupid feeding problem. Thank you so much!!

Outstanding video man.
"Holy black Jesus" had me fuckn roll’n. I think I’m going to have to do this to my 590 and 590m shockwaves.
Lol 😆. I was tired man. I had to get that shotgun to work, you already know we are super stubborn.
I have a 590A1 that’s perfect but my 590 Persuader was doing this on the last round, sort of. It would load all rounds but the last round would fall out the bottom. I changed the spring but it only lasted a week before the problem returned. Seemed the interrupter was holding the last round just a bit and the spring is weakest on the last round, so when I closed the action, the last round just popped out the bottom. Like it was empty and closed on an empty chamber and the round just falls out when the interrupter is reset on the closed action. It was kind of funny. I was planning on making a video this week on it. Thanks for sharing this.
You're welcome brother. Help out all of you guys with this simple fix
I am having the exact same problem with my 590, st first I thought it was the little arm that holds the shell in the tube, this was an awesome video, thank you brother.

Starting my late night journey looking at my Mossberg 590 shockwave. I just got back from the range.Loaded and pumped my shotgun to load a round in the chamber and shell loaded fine. When i fired the shells are flying out the bottom? Never had that happen with any shotgun i own. Thinking maybe the extractor not holding them in correctly. It is brand new and i'm pretty upset. Dont know if i should send it to mossberg, but i think i am going to look at it myself first. I already want to sell it but i could never do that to someone whose life depends on it. Glad you fixed yours and makes me feel a little better im not the only one frustrated with my shotgun not working!

Dude! Thank you!!! I bought a shockwave that was doing that crap and have sent it back to Mossberg twice. It comes back with the same problem. High brass quality ammo and buck shot won't feed but the 100 round value crap goes through no problem.
No problem brother. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask.
This may be a long shot seeing that this vid is 2 years old but maybe you could answer this question my 500 will load every round but the last one would this be the fix?
You have to be a tad more specific brother. What this fix did was stopped the shells from randomly coming out of the mag tube while pumping it. Look at your last shell and see if there are and deep scratches and drag marks. If so, this fix will definitely work.
@@trevorcunning6248 roger! Didn’t want to type it all for no response seeing that it’s a old vid... anyways I can load up my mossberg 500 to maximum capacity 6 shells and it will feed only 5 the last one will not release from mag tube no matter how much I pump it. There isn’t any marks or cuts on the shell as you described in your video however this was the closest video to show the problem that I was having. Mossberg customer service was no help so I’m taking to social media for help I just got this shotgun last year and honestly it’s not a big deal it will feed the first five just not the last one it would be awesome to figure it out but I’m pretty much taken a shot in the dark. Damn bro, I wish I could help but I haven't had any problem like that before. If all else fails, send it back to mossberg and have them unfuck it.
Hi there, I'm interested in throwing that magpul stock on the 590 mariner, but heard that taking out the trigger group is pretty difficult with that type of stock on. Have you had that experience with yours?
Oh yeah bro you're fucked if you wanted it to come out easy after installing this stock. You have to loosen the stock off of the tang to get the trigger group out. The only reason why I hate shooting this gun is because I know I have to take that damn bolt loose to thoroughly clean the shotgun.
I have to make 1 small comment in regards to that. You guys do realize that the M590A1 had to pass a torture test to be used in the military. And that includes running the shotgun caked with debris mud dirt sand. It was the only shotgun to pass that test I literally douche mine with some good old brake clean. Then hit it with some ED’s Red in a squirt bottle. She runs like champ.

While i don't really have any feeding issues with my new 590a1, the shells never eject on their own when you push that stopper to the side, to release the shells from the magtube. They only come out a tiny little bit and you have to push them in slightly to unload them properly.

Dam you have good taste when it comes to firearms. I have a M590A1 the one with a bayonet lug because fuck it who doesn’t want a fucking bad ass John Rambo knife 🔪 on their bad ass hood Howitzer. But anyway what I was getting at is you can do some cool shit with a shotgun. Cut shells wax slugs or you can do what I did. I went out picked up a Lyman key drive slug mold. And started casting my own slugs. Basically you can turn those cheap Walmart turds into some kick ass target slugs. By literally just cutting the crimp dumping the shot out melting it down. And recasting it into a 1oz slug. Fun easy and cheap there’s RUclips videos everywhere on the subject. I love my Mossberg the dam thing is a BEAST very versatile. You can basically do anything with it just by switching up your shell.
That problem is not new, most shotgun issues were because of this, you just did it on the video to help people out. I had to do that with my 930 SPX

I'm not too sure brother. That sounds like a completely different issue than what I was experiencing. My issue was just multiple shell ejections. The pump worked just fine but you can always try and do what I do in a video and see if that works.
@@trevorcunning6248 I forgot to update you about my Mossberg 500-12. It was the goddamn low brass shells that were causing the problem. I bought high brass, and it cycled them like a dream. My fault for buying cheap shit ammo.

The elevator grinds against the receiver. Pumping is gritty and rough as hell. The action bars are ground up too. The tube is marred up from the pump. The bolt needs polishing. It came with a cheapo plastic trigger housing instead of the metal one it should have. Can't add a sling because the choke redirects muzzle blast into the tube cap.
