- Join us for a first time fair in Shaylers Family Funfairs in Haslemere, Retro rides and a lovely family atmosphere and lovely staff, All the rides are well looked after and really nice machines.
£2 for the rides excluding dodgems that are £3 ..
we had a truly amazing hour or so and the Rock-O-Plane nearly killed me
the overuse of music is due to the Loud music and Copyright.

Nothing beats hearing Simon's cackles as he really gives David all that he can on the Rock O Plane. Hilarious, even as I started to feel a bit ill just watching. These two, best pair in the category of showing off rides and such. Those rides are becoming rarer and rarer even in the US. It's been a long time since I've seen one locally. My last old style ride was a Loop O Plane, and the operator tortured us, lol. Felt like we just had to accept living life upside down from then on. That twist looked like it was in fast forward. Awesome you guys got to do that. That is a real favorite ride. Seems like that ride alone was worth the trip. And those Dodgems, I've never seen any that hit and move like those.
Oh yeah, that fair looked spotless and well cared for. Just beautiful. Around here, small carnivals often look very dodgy at times. I mean, rides looking like they should have been, not refurbished, but retired. It's nice to go to the bigger ones with all the newest and best rides, but sometimes visiting something old school just hits the spot. From the more pure mechanical look of the rides to older style lighting. You feel that history and it's like time traveling to the early days. I love the idea of those steam fairs you see in the UK, even Oktoberfest in Germany has a section, depending on the year, where they set up old style rides and buildings.
Camera work, top notch. Not only thinking to get innovative angles, but showing us the view from inside the operators space. You just don't see that very often or at all from any one else. Plus, David pushing through being a bit ill shows he's someone who cares about doing this right and getting it done.
It's been too long since watching one of these vids, cause of reasons. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up and catch up, this gave me a much much needed smile. Thank you guys.

Stunning fair brings back good memories how fairs use to look when I was growing up with the older machines. My lord those dodgems looked fast. Decent as always lads 💪👍

I have not seen the rock a plane for years. Last see one at margate traveling fair 20 years ago. Called it the eggs. Best when you ask them to spin it to give you a head start 😊 love this ride

I literally live in a village close to Haselemere. I went to that fair on Saturday XD my mother and I were dancing to the music on the Twister ride XD we went on the black cages as well XD It was my favourite ride hahaha
Oh my days. Dave sounded just like me shouting at my friend "Don't touch it. Don't touch anything".
However I went on this ride over and over again through the years. Not sure if I could now.
Simon knew how to operate the brake. I thought it was a pointless thing.
This and the classic Dive Bombers, Octopus is all you need!

The rock o planes used to be popular in the 80s when I was a young teenager my friend used to love it . Although I like rides I never went on . Loved your reaction so funny I felt sick for you. Great vlog guys xx

Holy shimolie! Sy is the rock-o-plane master! I've never seen a rock-o-plane car go that crazy before. I've never been able to get it rolling that much, I'm impressed. Btw, Slothy, if you don't like this ride, you will hate the Chance Zipper. The rock-o-plane is a much tamer ride. I've personally never felt sick on the rock or the zipper because your not spinning flat, maybe now they would bother me but it was always the flat rides that did me in like the paratrooper and the octopus. // That Super Twist is interesting. The frame work of it is an Eli Bridge Mfg trailer mounted "Scrambler" however the cars are not Scrambler cars, they're off another Twist. So far that's the only "Scrambler" I've seen in your videos. It's also interesting that this one could go backwards. They're usually not wired to do that.

This fair is awesome and very retro! Love those dodgems, early 80s Reverchon "Privilege" cars. These were also used on Reverchon matterhorns
The tumbling star Ferris wheel was my favorite ride when I was 12! It was in all the carnivals in So Cal in 1972.
Me and cousin went on a Rock-O-Plane years ago and that's all he did was scream but the worse thing was the ride operator was spinning the cars.

Great little fair and retro rides. I actually used to love the rock o planes. I used to ride one called the american sky liner that was on the east of england fair circuit. Chuffed there is still one going strong!

used to love those rock o plane or eggs as we called them when i was a young lad i always thought the cage was gonna snap off if we was rolling it over and over while it stopped at the top for others to get on and back in those days they was the extreme rides of that time glad u went on it i'd av been pissing myself rolling it over like si was to get it going well done si i was crying just watching daves face while u made him lose his bearings and the will to live....lol

Years ago, I rode on a Paratrooper which had the arm permanently elevated, rather than starting on the horizontal, as is more usual. This one had the more usual umbrella canopies rather than arrowhead shaped ones.

@@SlothyVlogs such a shame it was a regular visitor at my local carnival funfair back in the late 80s early 90s. Great ride but guaranteed somebody was ill at least once a cycle also a good money earner as after the fair as kids we always used to go and search the grass for money once they had pulled off. Thanks for your vloggs keep them coming👍
Carnival rides keep disappearing here in Buffalo New York. The churches used to have what they called a lawn Fete and they would have several amusement rides now they're getting rid of those. Buffalo is the only place they refer to them as lawn fetes in the United States. I think the insurance in New York State's just too expensive for it. By the way great videos as usual thank you
