I used to be mediocre at commandeering and my simultaneity arsenal was lacking. No longer! Thanks Rochester X!
immediately my favorite game
This is really cool.
From a technological standpoint, you can control wayyy more than 3 characters at once.
1 example is having a centralized character than manages each other the other characters dynamically: For example All other characters follow the leader, or All other characters are pulled/ pushed by the leader, etc…
Another solution is to have a more advanced puzzle with N-characters.
In general, you can assign N characters to N unique paths to a destination. When you add collision and gravity, this problem will become incredibly advanced- possibly requiring some Group Theory equivalent concepts…
So, it is incredible work that went into that project already. It looks fun, and harder than Dark Souls
I like the way you're thinking... Maybe this game requires a separate "Synchronous: Applications of Group Theory" series.
I found that three characters is the most you can control before it gets too overwhelming, but maybe I'll add more for hardcore fans.
Thanks for your time; I hope you enjoyed it!
I really hope this becomes successful!!! indie devs are our only hope for truly great games, cuz Valve takes like 10 years to make their absolutely amazing games.
Thanks! Valve is a really interesting case, and I wonder what would have happened if Steam wouldn't have taken off. As things are, though, I might have to make Portal 3 if Valve never does...
this game seems to be a good idea and a good challenging game in general
Thanks! I'm always trying to make the best games that I can.
This looks really cool!
Thanks!
I love the mediocre box 😍
But which one...?

I think the buttons should be a bit more intuitive as to what they do. Like if you could tell which thing they activated before you press them, either matching button color to door color, or having visible cables like in portal.
Also, the whole design concept of 'affordances' and 'signifies' that game design vids talk about, visually I like how the buttons look, but I couldn't tell that I would need to toggle the one type until this video explained it.
Toggle vs hold should probably be designated by shape instead of color/pulsing. Like the one other button looks like the clicky bit on a pen, those are a thing that people know toggles, could swap the textures maybe.
I like the speed/jumping/platforming differences though, it seems like the levels expect you to do some neat moves with that.
Thanks for the ideas! I had actually planned on adding some kind of indication to buttons and what they control, but playtesters didn't seem to think it was necessary.
As for the look of buttons and toggles, I definitely understand how unintuitive they are. Art isn't my strong suit, but I'll experiment with some different looks.
Haha, you think 3 players is a lot of players to control at once, try half the screen.
Maybe in the Demolition Simulator...
i’m gonna buy an android just to play this
iOS coming "soon"
