- The songwriting trio comprised of Maggie, Terre, and Suzzy Roche are well known for their beautiful harmonies, quirky lyrics and unique arrangements. Since their first release in 1979, they have had a loyal cult following, appealing to audiences with their eclectic blend of influences ranging from church choir music, traditional Irish folk, contemporary folk, rock, country, and pop. In addition to a slew of critically acclaimed albums, the Roches have lent their talents to the works of a wide variety of artists including Paul Simon, Philip Glass, and Laurie Anderson.
This live 1982 performance is from Evening at the Improv. The studio version of "Want Not Want Not" can be found on their album "Keep On Doing", produced by Robert Fripp.
I was riding with some guy and slid in a Roches album. He said "What's that, someone standing on a cat's tail?"
Some people just don't get the Roches.
I saw Maggie and Suzzy a while back in the most intimate of venues (maybe 20 people fit in there) and they were seriously awesome. I still have the first tape I ever copied on my VCR from maybe 1983 - a Roches concert that blew me away.
After 30 years they remain among my favorite artists.
I love The Roches and regret never having been able to see them in concert. Amazing.
Brilliant! I love The Roches.
Maggie's alto solo always gives me chills.
Listen to them some more. These girls are amazing. They have written some incredible music and they are fantastic musicians.
Thank you EJK now ELS for turning me on to this band!

fantastic performance
amazing harmonies
す、す、す、素晴らしいっ!
Go ahead fix my wagon !!!
The Roches are on the border of being creatively stimulating, and irritating. I really like this song, Ing, and the Train Song. Some of their songs sound a little screechy like an off key Cilla Black.
