This was amazing. Her teaching videos are short but powerful. I already know the rewrites needed in my screenplay and novel. It was followed by some beautiful encouragement focusing on the healing, not the pain, for the benefit of your audience. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and your passion.
I love your gentle guidance. Choose your color and stay with it. (What if we thought about it in this vein) Did you really want to turn left there? I would like to be your shadow for a few weeks.___Tomorrow is day 1 of 6. YIPPEE!
Ela, could you please address this question in an upcoming video: What are considered the top screenwriting contests in terms of exposure for the work and the quality of feedback?
What if its about two characters who r in love, who have different goala n issues? Love ur deeply insightful videos. Thank u. Can u make a deep analysis of a screenplay u like? Thank u again for tthe great content.
Thanks! I'd say that if they have 2 totally different issues (one is afraid to fight, the other is afraid of commitment), then they belong in different screenplays. If their issues are different but related to the same theme (one is a slot, the other a neat freak!) then their arcs would compliment each other nicely.
Good breakdown video. You mentioned in a video a point that has helped me tremendously however, it has also bummed me out! You shared about writing (at most) 2-3 lines of dialogue. Do you have a video discussing "Writing more Direction but less Dialogue?" I cut down on my dialogue but my direction is now overflowing!😩
Thank you, Ela, for sharing this easy-to-understand explanation of theme and how to weave it into the entire script.
Great analogy! Find the key. Everything is in relation to that.
