I love Dublin and Pleasanton. Lived here since 2003. You will love it here, but the housing is extremely expensive. This video is very accurate.

Growing up in Tri-Valley, Dublin/Pleasanton was always the hub for shops, restaurants and entertainment. Most of this is centered along the main areterials of Dublin Blvd and Stoneridge Dr on opposite sides of 580. This is also where all the new development is focused surrounding the only 2 Bart stations (East/West Dublin/Pleasanton) that serve the Tri-Valley. The Dublin and San Ramon areas have been among the fastest growing cities in California recently, which has caused Dublin to become heavily congested with traffic most hours of the day. Pleasanton is the only city south of 580 in the Tri-Valley and has a history of constraining growth (see Costco in Pleasanton) so it is much less crowded.
The main reasons to live in the Dublin/Pleasanton area of the Tri-Valley are good transportation access (680 and 580; Bart); Central location (Can get to SF, SJ, Oak, Fremont under an hr); Low crime and homeless; safety and good schools.

Grew up in Livermore through 80's and 90's and my grandparents lived in Pleasanton and Dublin. I love the Tri-Valley and wish I could afford to live there, but sadly when I came of age I moved away to a more affordable state (Arizona). I do miss that area and unfortunately don't visit as often as I should as I still have family there.
You are correct on the parks of the area and the vibe of that old downtown. Great area to grow up in. Schools are great as well. my mother attended Amador and I went to Granada in Livermore.

I love Pleasanton honestly, it’s hard because it’s expensive but I’m about to move from my parents house. I’m leaving Pleasanton and will miss it, the ridge, skate park etc. so to the people thinking about moving here and have the money do it it’s safe and there’s many things to do

I grew up in Vintage Hills. John Madden owns Hap’s. I remember when it was a crappy, seedy little bar 😂

Could you please tell a bit more about the wildfires: how often do they affect the town?

Alameda county as a whole is one of the more strict counties in the state. Looking forward to getting back to normal!

Pleasanton is the valley, not the east bay. Anything over the hill is the valley

Alameda and Contra Costa Counties are the East Bay. The Valley is Silicon Valley

Good food here? Not really. It’s all chains. Dean’s is now gone, and Gay Nineties Pizza is next. Those are Pleasanton icons.

I agree. I mention in the video that unfortunately there aren’t that many great places to eat. Although I have faith Gay Nineties will stay. It would be a rough day if they ever left

There are Indian restaurants on nearly every block now, so if you like curry, Pleasanton is becoming the new Fremont...or New Delhi.
