The "LOW C" groove -- with the head nod!! -- "DOP", 2, 3, 4, ..."DOP", 2, 3, 4, ..."DOP", 2, 3, 4...etc Thanks SCOTT PADDOCK! You are doing a GREAT thing!
Thanks for this lesson, I've stuck with this concept for a week and the results are impressive. I absolutely love all of your lessons and I'm on the verge of signing up to your online lessons!
Absolutely stunning knowledge explained in the coolest and best way (broken down in an easy way to understand). What helped me improving the feeling for the next „one“ was tapping with my feet and changing between left and right one with every beat.
Hello my brother. Congratulations on your videos. Do you have other tutorials with different styles? These funk tutorials opened the doors to this wonderful style. Hugs.
Phenomenal Scott, Thank you very much for your dedication, an extraordinary video. Here a faithful follower from Madrid (Spain), Lastima I do not speak English, but surely I would ask you for some class for Skipe
Dear Sir. I'm Manjula from Sri Lanka. You're grate teacher for me. I rifer your lot of lessons. It's big help for learning Alto Saxophone. I'm your student. I wish to you our way. God Buddha Bless You. Thanking you.
I literally just like listening to you play man, I'm literally in love with the really bright sound you get..... wish I could get that bright of a sound
Thank you Scott! I have commented and you have replied before. I am going to check with you on lesson. I play harmonica (45 years and was full-time by age 20 but, only part time now) but, I have adapted songs/arrangements picked up from Koz, Sanborn, Marienthal, etc. and of course Maceo! I play in Dorian much of the time, for harp of course mixolydian is the most common. I jam along with Maceo often, not to copy note-for-note but, to assimilate. Took a while since I started in the downbeat world of Bluegrass and Country for many years. I did have a swing dance band for 10 years though so, have done a good share of playing with horns on Swing and Jump Blues tunes. Thank You again, love that you have Buddha there too!!!!!!
You make it look way to easy!!! But I have to thank you. I unconsciously learned my dorian scale on my tenor now know it and found Amazing Grace shortly after. And BTW I love your terminology. Not only does it make practicing fun but it instills key fundamentals without the frustration of trying to memorize numbers etc. Keep up the great work. I’ll keep practicing thanks again
I’m an adult beginner learner so I need to master the basics first but I like Scott’s way of teaching as it’s understandable for a beginner and also sometimes possible to sound good fast with some simple ways to create rhythm ! Thanks Scott. Paul T .
Hey Paul, if you're looking to get the basics down, check out my Sax School. It'll get you headed in the right direction... www.scottpaddocksaxschool.com
Excellent Scott, you re the best. Just 1 remark: if you could play at the end with the Tenor. No necessary to repeat all, but just having your sound with the Tenor. Thanks for all.
Great video, Scott! Thx! But I dont under stand the "Eees, Aaahs and Ends" (I even dont know how to write it;) ... Is there another viodeo explaining that?
Another great video Scott but just wondering if you could do a video to explain how to play "outside" instead of staying in the Dorian on your funk solos. I've been experimenting dropping a semitone to add tension and using some more colourful scales but be good to get some help on it. Regards
Really nice feel Scott it sounds like Maceo Parker, keep it coming I'm going to check out your improvising over chord changes, I now have something to practice on for a few days or so!!
Salut Scott .. super .. j'adore .. merci je vais me tester ca parce que j'aime bcp le funk mais je pensais que c'etait bien plus difficile .. merci ;-) :-) ..
They don't get as many views as the other videos, but I get asked to do them the most 🤔 I'm working on an online sax school and there will be an entire section devoted to funk.
You are a great teacher Scott I've learned a huge amount already from your RUclips lessons really helpful. Subscribed. Do you do Skype lessons? Cheers keep up the great work.
Thank you! I'm actually launching an online sax school in the very near future, which will be similar to my youtube, but way more in depth, and in order of the way you should be learning the material. Keep an eye out for the annoucement.

@@ScottPaddock Yeah, because that's my goal. And no one can explain it like you!
More Funk ! More Funk ! Yes please !
They don't get as many views as the other videos, but I get asked to do them the most 🤔 I'm working on an online sax school and there will be an entire section devoted to funk.

Dear Scott, is it possible to have a skype beginer class as a trumpet player?
Cheers from Serbia, you're a great teacher!
You wouldn't want me to teach you how to play trumpet 😂😂
You are a great teacher Scott I've learned a huge amount already from your RUclips lessons really helpful. Subscribed. Do you do Skype lessons? Cheers keep up the great work.

@@ScottPaddock I most certainly will your lessons are fantastic I have learned so much and they've really helped my playing, thanks again Scott
😀😀😀 wouhaouuuuu tank for your lesson but i have à question . Can we play saxophone 🎷 without learning piano ?
Absolutely. You don't need to learn to play one instrument in order to learn another, you can start with whatever instrument you want.
That's some damn good saxophone playing..
👏🎷🎶 thank you .
Love the way how you explain things. How can I get more information about your lessons? I mean I sense of time availability and pricing? Cheers
