The outstanding close-ups in the video and the extensive information in the explanation box made this especially helpful. In general, I find that such features of a painting tutorial make the learning process much easier for beginners. My weakness is obviously drawing, but I'm working on it.
This was so helpful esp with the excellent close ups during the video and very much appreciate the detailed info in the description box! Overall those aspects of a painting tutorial for me makes the painting process much more doable as a newbie. Sketching is definitely my weak point but also working on that.
I have watched many tree videos to prepare for doing a home portrait that has a tree in the foreground on each side of the composition. I am most impressed by yours.
I am more of a drawer but I find myself wanting to paint now so I thought I should start out with water colours to get used to the brush differences and colour combinations and effects first before moving onto acrylic paints. The art bug has really bit hard and I find myself yearning to pick up that brush but I just have no idea how or where to start, even while watching these videos, I still don't have any ideas. Maybe once I pick up that brush I will get a feel for it and magic will just explode out of me which may have been dormant all these years, who knows. Wish me luck guys.❤
I usually use mixed colors~ As a base color, I mix Olive green and Sap green, then I add some Raw umber for the light part and add some Ultramarine deep for the dark part. Sometimes use more colors...but same way~ make a base color first then add others :) Also I use different amount of water. For the light parts, I add lots of water, but I use very thick paints for the dark parts~
Best watercolour tree ever on RUclips! Wow..👍👍 I am trying myself and have only one major questions: How do you mix the very dark (almost black) colours of green in the leaves and the brown on the tree trunk? 🤔 Thanks!
For the dark part, I usually use Ultramarine deep and Vandyke Brown mix, then I add some green or brown. I use very thick paints...I think this is the key :)
Wow that tree looks awesome . Usually when i paint t a picture i just put lots of water on the tree leaves part and put colours like greens, yellows and blues and I thought that was the best way( it actually looks pretty good)...now I'm thinking that's the quickest way, but this is way better
WOW this is amazing!!! and i still can't belive THIS is considered 'simple'... (i can't even draw a stick figure) like what would complex trees even look like??
What I'm seeing here is The lower you you go the darker your color should be and in between leaf clumps should be minor dark colours Start with the leaves first never the branch
One of the best trees I’ve
Seen painted yet.
Thank you
Thank you so much!!!
Just started painting in Watercolour. This is the video I've been looking for. Thank you.
As a beginner this is no EASY but it takes time and patience
Your 'but' should be 'as' in your statement
