Bonnie's version all day every day over anyone else. Plus her arrangement and use of instruments just kills all the others.
Her use of instruments? She is a great singer without a doubt, but last I looked it was the brilliant Bruce Hornsby at the piano and not Bonnie Raitt.
@@musashimiyamoto586 I never said her playing of instruments, I said her use of the them. It's how a conductor uses the instruments in the orchestra that makes for different interpretations. But of course you've never played and instrument, been in a studio, or arranged a piece of music so you'll never understand, will you?

If ever there was a TRUE voice of an angel, this is it. Bonnie reaches inside me and wrings the tears out of my heart. It is almost too much to take, but it is also cathartic. This is a song in a category all by itself. Musical perfection.

This is one of my favorite songs ever created. The original by Bonnie being my favorite. I had never heard THIS live version until right now. and when Bonnie hit that note at the 5:10 mark, I damn near teared up. Now I gotta go punch a wall or kick a tire. Add the fact that you have the great Bruce Hornsby playing the piano, as he did on the original. Goodgoobilleegoo!!!!

That's Bruce Hornsby on the keyboard. Apparently he played with her pretty extensively. she is still very very beautiful and I think this is one of the best versions of this song I have ever heard.
What's so special about Hornsby? Any competent pianist could play it as well.

It's just so soulful. It speaks to your heart especially if you've ever felt heartache. Bonnie sounds amazing. What a beautiful soulful voice. Just close your eyes and listen.
I swear to God I just wished I was a smoker so I would have had a lighter to raise during this performance. That woman is truly something else. She has the sweetest, bell like soft tone when she wants, she can belt like Aretha when she wants, she can growl with a jazzy bluesy sound when she wants...basically she can do anything and everything.

My all-time favorite song.😥 Super hit when I was going through the early emotions of a divorce after 34 yrs. Lara Fabian's Broken Vows helped me to forgive. She's an excellent singer also. Her live concerts are better than her recordings. We are talking EMOTION! Saw Bonnie with Lyle Lovett at the Rhyman in 2002. Great concert.

The Teddy Swims version is fantastic but it doesn't compare to Bonnie. Her voice is one of the most unique in music history. The studio version of this song is breathtaking.
Agree Teddy Swims has a nice voice and his version is good. But this original by Bonnie Raitt is way better no one holds a candle the only version I prefer.
