I kept bees when I lived on a small family ranchette in Thousand Oaks, CA. I learned the “Keeping” from a good friend. The local fire department let me know when swarms were reported and I collected them. The area I lived in had a small river/stream and grass lands. Some times the honey was wild flower and sometimes it was from the poison oak pollen. Both were delicious. The comb on the hive panels were separated with a hot knife and then run through a centrifuge. I never processed the raw honey in any way, it was just poured into Mason Jars and stored at room temperature. I also collected the bee pollen collected from the bees by a narrow screen as they entered the hive. Both the honey and the pollen are good for your health in moderation. It was a great and tasty hobby that helped feed my young family. Bees are quite “tame” as long as you obey their rules. Rule #1 - never mow the grass close to the hive on a hot summer day! They fly faster than you can run! Rule #2 - always wear “White” protective garments and a screened hat with gloves, tape the pants to the top of your boots and your gloves to your cuffs. Bees can get into any opening if agitated. A good friend of mine learned the hard way by wearing a dark grey/black outfit one day and was attacked and had to retreat. Rule #3 - Always work with bees when it is cool in the morning or evening and use a smoker, they react to the smoke as a threat and quickly consume some honey which in turn makes them docile.
Thx for sharing. I had a dream (once) of having my own beehive...joined a local beekeeping group... but decided not to when they explained how much time/$$ it cost to start. Alas, I still have that dream. (Someday)

Whenever I feel sluggish or coming down with something, I take a heaping spoon of top grade New Zealand "Manuka" honey. Love the nutty taste, but most of all, all the health benefits that comes with it.
Hospitals use it for Staph patients.
Unfortunately, it's very, very expensive.
It’s good for killing h.pylori I heard.

I have researched that and you can rest assured that it is the same as all other organic
honey. They just make it out like it's some exotic, magic honey! Advertisement gimmick!

I have that, but the truth is that IF it comes back, it comes back with a vengeance! Best is to take food grade Diatomaceous Earth on an empty stomach.
The best kind comes from Florida! Unfortunately, the guy who supplied it, is not doing it any more, so I am trying to find someone there who could send me some, after the New Year!
My dog had a massive open wound on his chest that couldn't be stitched , the vets used honey to heal and close the wound , the result was unbelievable and fast.
Good to know. My cat has had one on her side for a very long time. I'm going to give it a shot. If she licks it off, it will at least be a treat.
Not only do they heat the honey but they add sugar to and add water to double or triple the amount they can sell... my papaw ate honey multiple times a day and I'm a electrician and have a customer that gives me honey from my area and man it's great

What if one really needs to limit their sugar intake? Honey is essentially a type of sugar.
There are NO essential sugars. There are essential fats, and essential proteins, but no essential carbohydrates (sugar)

If your diabetes is well-controlled and you want to add honey to your diet, choose pure, organic, or raw natural honey. These types are safer for people with diabetes because all-natural honey doesn't have any added sugar
Every morning I eat 2 eggs over easy and two slices of pb toast drenched in oeganic honey. Not sure if it helped but i had a severe cold/flu with sore throat, body chills and aches.. took a large spoonful of honey before bed and am doing great 12 hours later. (No Vs either).

For diabetics, also?
Yes only raw honey..honey has anti-diabetic effects that can improve glycemic control and metabolism disorder..
Check with you doc, they might lie to you, so check with a natural remedy doctor. The honey I got is raw, but not recommend for diabetic.
It is really good to aware all the benefits of raw honey intake daily, however, people with diabetes should not eat much. Moreover, children aged under 1 year must not eat honey even raw honey. Aren't they?
That's amazing content. Everyone usually has honey even direct and indirect.
In the UK it is illegal to describe honey as raw as there are regulatiuons saying honey cannot be heated so that the important enzymes are destroyed, so to describe honey as 'raw' is meaningless

I buy raw honey, my mode of consumption is in tea. Am I still getting the benefits this way?
Anyone with blood sugar level issues need to consult their physician before adding honey to your diet. Honey is essentially sugar, but with a slightly lower glycemic index level.
PEOPLE SHOULD BE QUESTIONING DOCTORS WHY ARE THEY NOT PROMOTING HEALTHY LIVING, EXERCISE AND EATING ? OH $ PRESCRIPTIONS !
@@daviddavids3468 I think most doctors do, but they also realize people don’t take sound advice…..that leaves pills as the approach
A friend of mine suggested honey , in my tea . I add it 2 my green tea, as well.
ALWAYS USE ONLY RAW UNPROSESSED HONEY AND IT'S CHEASER.
Thanks for your information
I have replaced any form of sugar in my diet with raw straight from the hive tupelo honey . But I eat more than a half pound of tupelo a day or as much as 1 lb . I take anything to far but I haven't seen or felt any side effects. I've been doing this for over a year .
Eating that amount daily must cost a small fortune Steve. It’s also not easily available where I live. Processed honey is no problem but raw honey is very difficult to find.
It's about $300 a gallon when I can't go to the river and get it myself . I am extremely lucky tupelo tree's grow exclusive where I live .
Up to one POUND of tupelo honey a DAY?! Do you eat anything else?!😳.....🤔.... So Steve, do you consider yourself a GIGANTIC bee?!
I do love bee's and honey very much . It reminds me of my grandmother when I was a kid we alway headed to the river for tupelo honey 🍯 I eat it along with a handful of pecans . My diet is very weird to most . grass feed eggs, sardines, avocado pecans and honey among a few other ingredients. The dr's say I have MS and epilepsy which I believe different but this was my answer to replace my horrible diet and chocolate/sugar intake.
I am just curious are you at a healthy weight
Love my raw honey, ginger tea at bedtime. I now add elderly berry syrup that my friend makes that doesn’t contain any sugar to my tea. Tastes great

Twice I've had a blocked tear duct on the corner of my eye, five years apart. Both times I used a hot tea bag with raw honey and my tear duct released the blockage within 2-3 hours of using it.

Just bought a jaw of raw English honey and it’s delicious. I’m addicted to sugar so every time I want a sugary treat, I’m going to have a little bit of honey instead. I can’t eat too much of it either because it almost burns if I eat more than a spoonful.
Watch to know what it's effect to eavh ones body and health.
I forgot to ask what was the name be for the raw honey in the jar and do we just eat it out of the jar just wondering
I learned along time ago it's important to eat your honey every morning.
Thank you!💕
Honeybees that supply us with marvelous organic honey must be preserved!!!!
Great information thanks
sounds great. thanks.
So what will happen?
I love honey. No more granulated sugar for me. It’s been 10 years now.
No such thing as “organic” honey. You can’t control where a bee goes. Those that label honey as organic does not come from the U.S. where the labeling is more strict.
Good Info. Thanks.
3:40 - Graphic is factually incorrect. The placque would be Lipoprotein A.

I buy it from local farmers market.

There is also a world of difference in different varieties of honey.
Depends on your location
Jonathan Eats the Honey
1 Samuel 14:24Now the men of Israel were in distress that day, for Saul had placed the troops under an oath, saying, “Cursed is the man who eats any food before evening, before I have taken vengeance on my enemies.” So none of the troops tasted any food. 25Then all the troops entered the forest, and there was honey on the ground. 26And when they entered the forest and saw the flowing honey, not one of them put his hand to his mouth, because they feared the oath. 27Jonathan, however, had not heard that his father had charged the people with the oath. So he reached out the end of the staff in his hand, dipped it into the honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes brightened.
If you eat local raw honey it will drastically help with allergies.
Yes , has to be local 🤗
There’s a three episode series on beekeeping on tv. Fascinating.
I once read while researching the crusades decades ago that bodies of knights who were wounded in battle then died that the wounds were cleaned and dressed with HONEY they got this from the Arabs they were fighting. Honey has always held healing properties recognized even before the Egyptians. Go look it up. Be well. Be kind.
