    I did this when I started to learn English a year and a half ago. It really works!! now I do not have to think first in my native language, I just let the word get out of my mouth.

    As a French Canadian, I rarely talk in English but I easily can translate in my head. So I started to practice myself to think in English before going to sleep. Since that time I've Emma in background in my head and what I say in subtitle. Then the morning when I get up I decided to speak in English to an imaginary friend but it became Emma!
    Please Emma, if you can cast a spell with your hands, can you give me the gift of speaking English perfectly in one shot?!

    This is really a good advice: we are fluent in a language only when we learn to think in it.
    Seems so simple, but we have to make an effort by changing our common way of thinking. Thanks my dear Emma!

    Thanks Emma! for sharing these tips, they are really helpful, actually most of my English teachers say that we might think in English, but what they don't say is how, but now you hit the nail on the head!
    I'm gonna put these tips into practice, that's a given!
    I use to think in conversations in my head, I must admit is weird but it really works, another way to improve my English is to talk with my dog in english of course hahaha. there is no a magic formula to learn a language so the only thing we can do is to practice and be persistent. :)
    Again, thank you so much!
    I love you videos.

I have to make sure I can describe my daily activities in English, give comments to those events in English. finally I managed to think everything English when I wish to. before that, I kept journals in chinese and malay language. It's not that easy :/ when I speak by myself, I always repeat the old fashioned words I've already known. I have to speak with a native English speaker in order to improve my vocabulary capacity. In this video, the only word stranger to me was "scorching". At least I learned a new one. Thanks.

    You said “find a time” time is uncountable. Shouldn’t you say: find some time ?!

    • @wilkinst105
      @wilkinst105 5 лет назад +1

      "Find a time" is correct too. Time can be used as a countable noun as well, it is referring to a specific action. Find a time in your schedule. Search and find a (1) time daily (i.e. after dinner or 7 pm) to practice English. Find some time refers to a period time (i.e. after dinner or from 7-8pm). English can be challenging because many nouns have both countable and uncountable usage depending on context. Hope this is helpful.
