@Tonika you can read books for babies, i mean for children etc. but you can install wattpad and read stories there, if you don't understand some words just translate them
@Tonika you can read books for children & teens, something like harry potter but shorter, cause hp has from 350-700+ pages and this is so long, i recommend stories from 150-300 pages, you can even make account on wattpad and look up to stories with 10 chapters
@Tonika i've got so many of them, and the most are in polish, i'm sorry but i can't recommend you some stories:( you can ask your english teacher what he/she recommends, or your mom what she was reading to you when you were baby
I am native American-English speaker. I worked for company in US (in Silicon Valley California) that hired many non-native speakers (non-US citizens, but usually college educated). Most could speak English fluently. When I was just starting work at this company, I asked one (he was from India) how he spoke English so well, and he told me the same thing as Marina , he forced himself to start thinking in English. Two other guys I worked with were non-native speakers, but had learned English when they were children. One learned after he moved to the US as a teenager, and his English was very smooth. He told me he practiced by singing in English (he was a musician). The other learned English in Malaysia as a child/teenager and was taught by Catholic nuns in school. His pronunciations were like someone well educated in England. He rarely used American slang. I used to joke with him that he spoke the King's English. Very formal. Now I need to learn Español, because I live close to the US-Mexico border. And many many US citizens down here speak both. And I want to travel in Mexico and be able to communicate. so Le Vaya Bien. :-)

What does it mean to think in a language? I’ve had people tell me to think in Portuguese but I don’t think in any language so I don’t understand what it means. I think in ideas and images.
Hi, Marina. Let me share my experience. I gave up translating English into my mother tongue in order to comprehend English a couple of years ago. Before then, I had 100% depended on translating to understand English for years and had remained a lower intermediate speaker of English. I had difficulties for a few months when I first started it. However, nearly half a year later since I began, I recognized that I started thinking only in English. BTW, I’m Japanese and I went through this process only in my country. Truth be told, I have never studied abroad in any native English countries. What helped me to be an advanced speaker of English is RUclips videos and your channel is one of them. Let me tell you, thank you very much. Your videos are awesome. Please keep doing amazing videos. Love you.😄👍

When I've been talking with somebody I feel having a headache cause I have a fear to my mistakes and I'm translating too much in head but I don't know how to avoid it. Every day I'm singing like following a song in english and I'm not ambarassed where ever I'm but just my accent only is better that the translation in my head it's still holding on me. I'm really spending my time for english as reading, listening and following the lyrics of the songs.
The solution is to speak with those people who won't judge your grammar. People don't know your native language . so they would only focus on what are you trying to say instead of your grammatical mistakes . And second thing there would be no option for you to switch the language between conversation . You just have to complete your sentence in that scenario , no matter how bad your grammar was . One more thing is online class with professional teachers . They would just talk to you and will improve your skills at the same time . and more thing , please stop feeling embarrassed , did you ever feel embarrassed when you were a kid . NO ! and you often see kids can learn many languages easily , coz they are natural learners and they don't care about acceptance from others . Become a kid again . there is nothing to loose . It is about going up , falling and standing up again , and learn walking .. Good luck 👍👍👍
I listen your speak English everyday and I write your sentense and repeat . I can learn more from you. Thank you so much . You are the best and beautiful teacher for me. From Your Thai student.

@@lorec5778 i see that you didnt get a response. I am not a teacher just a native speaker so this might not be a great explanation. You use the accusative "her" as its not beside a verb. This may not be why but in the case it works. "She" goes in front of verbs and "her" is more indirect. Sorry I couldnt make it clearer or that I dont know the actual reason!

I’m watching your videos bcz you’re speaking so clear
I can't speak English but I can understand what you say.Your accent is so clear. Thanks for your advice.
I listen your speak English everyday and I write your sentense and repeat . I can learn more from you. Thank you so much . You are the best and beautiful teacher for me. From Your Thai student.

Thanks for sharing such valuable pieces of advice. What I try to do as much as possible is that when I come back home, alone in my room, before sleeping, I speak English alone. I pretend that I am with a client or colleague and try to explain a tecnic point of my profession. I think that helps for your confidence when speaking in English. Best, Alejandro.
me too.
Can u help me to improve my speaking, pls?
Your accent is so clear & understandable
Reading. I've been reading a looot of translated English- Chinesee novel in these 2 years. And it get intensified since covid. I literally start reading it from open my eyes on the morning to close my eyes to bed. I even dream about reading or even becam one of character in my dream and of course in English. Right now I'm trying to improvey listening again. Wish me luck guys
Omg, I love your videos because I always learn something new. I've never travelled so I've not had much contact with native speakers but I do practise every day and I never read without an audio book. By the way I totally agree with the fact that we're taught erroneously, the teachers always tell us to translate in our head even when kids don't learn that way so thanks for your videos! 🤗 🤗 ❤️. Sending love from Mexico!
Can u help me to improve my speaking, pls?
thank you for everything, i'll try everyway for native english (i'm from turkey)

Марина, спасибо Вам большое) Я долго не практиковалась, сейчас пытаюсь подтянуть свой уровень языка, поэтому пока пишу на русском. Но я очень рада, что поняла практически все что Вы говорили)) Thank you!!!

Can u help me to improve my speaking, pls?
I like when she's speaking English because it's easier to understand thank you so much.
She: stop translating in your head
Me: *confused in 5 languages*
Its her, not she. Use the accusative
Tell me why I should use accusative in this case?
P.S: English is the 6th language I know(lvl B2), but I still don't master it 100%.
same xD
@@lorec5778 i see that you didnt get a response. I am not a teacher just a native speaker so this might not be a great explanation. You use the accusative "her" as its not beside a verb. This may not be why but in the case it works. "She" goes in front of verbs and "her" is more indirect. Sorry I couldnt make it clearer or that I dont know the actual reason!
Really? 😯
You should make some videos about your process, 5 are too many languages
Я вообще в шоке что вы русская) даже на секунду не думала.
Я кстати и русский и английский изучаю, а родной это арабский. Спасибо за великолепный канал 💜
Well that's great,my mother language is Arabic but i use English 99% in my life.

Awesome advice Marina! I have a bunch of really good intermediate level students right now that struggle with this a lot. I really like your tip about learning things 'as a new concept' not just by finding the translation in your own language. 👍😎👍 Thanks for another really useful video!
Can u help me to improve my speaking, pls?
What I did every day in English besides my work is reading. I've been buying and reading only English books with hope, that it could help me improve my English. Well, to get used to it while speaking also as I read books out loud lol. Another one is the one that is not what I used to do but commenting your video is one. Thank you for the tips!
It's incredible the way that I can understand all words that this woman are talking, continue with your works, hug from Brazil!

Dear Marina.
please make videos on classified words which end with "ss" "tion" "some" "ly" "ful" "ness" "es" and so on...this will make the way easier to improve our vocabulary in English...besides we are looking for videos on "homonyms" also♥️
Thank you, my Motivator ❤
