Dashka does a lot of the work he is the producer and founder of the band and an integral part so much more than just a producer, and director and without him there would be no HU he created the style with them and designed the instruments personally to suit the style and genre which he and they invented after years of experimentation and the genre is Hunnu Rock . The genre is East meets West, old meets New, and the Past meets the Future.
Watched the HU’s official video for “Wolf Totem”, after it ended….my house was on fire, horses were stampeding through my backyard, my Chinese neighbor was building a wall, and all the women on the block were pregnant….😳

2 guys you see in the Shireg Shireg video, one is Brandon from their record company Better Noise and the other guy you see setting up a microphone is Dashka, he is the man behind The HU, Their producer who envisioned this style of music many years ago, and got these guys together in 2016 to start rehearsing Hunny Rock. Never been into producers before, but if not for this guy, there would be no HU
Just saw them in Detroit yesterday! A must see if they are in your area. I drove three hours myself. The opening group, The Haunt, was pretty amazing as well. They will LITERALLY be in your area in 12 days! I tossed a clip on my channel if you two want to see it.
In Australia 2020 l had a 20 hour drive to see them, and in August they are back, have tickets for Melbourne 2/3 hour drive & Adelaide 6/7 hour drive worth it with The HU playing the whole way, just like my 20 hour drive to Brisbane
You should check out suggan essena by the HU they made the song for star wars Jedi fallen order the words are made up for the game but it's an AWESOME song along with their cover of through the never. Oh and YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME 😎😎 Do you know what their instruments are called?
Tovshuur the Mongolian guitar Temka plays date back to the Hun era hence their term of Hunny Rock. The Morin Khuurs played by Gala & Enkush are not that old, more Chinggis Khaan era or there abouts. Jaya plays a jaw harp & flutes
There are many other great Hu tunes, but you picked a wonderful assortment of examples to listen to, especially that last one, I love that one, so plaintive, riding across the plains, away from home, missing them.... ... so poignant
I saw them on August 27 at the isleta amphitheater in Albuquerque New Mexico, and they were great. They rocked. I had never seen them or heard of them until then. They came with Megadeth and five finger death Punch and they rocked just as good.
Great review. You listened to the songs w/o interrupting. Song of Woman is an anthem! Never heard of Lzzy Hale before and she really added to the song. You are right, you just have to experience them!
I love the Yu Vey Yu Vey Yu ( pls forgive spelling!!) that u did by the Hu. The horse head instrument does an incredible horse whinny ! Also- watch the official video and there are English subtitles at the bottom. The lyrics are really impressive!

Heads up! They sound almost exactly the same in concert. No quality deviation at all. Vibe though, there is nothing in the world like it.
