It is sad such wrong decision went unchallenged. It is cheating and also necessary to check by Olympics authorities if there was any foul play like bribing the judges. It should be easy gindvout if any big sum were transferred in their or the spouse of judge and if so question how or what is the transfer. Nishant should have fought from outside as he did in the 1st round. Third round was really the decider, the Mexican took the fight to him and took that distance away from Nishant. The Mexican was better at fighting on the inside.

Round 1 - It was pure dominance from Nishant.. Vande knows it... whole of Mexico knows it and judges gone with 4 - 1 it should have been 5-0. Im not sure why are you guys ignoring so much. We are not some 10 yr old kid watching

@reverb It is clear that Mexico is a dominant boxing nation no doubts in that.. All the best for that but India is try to push itself to be good at boxing. This type of judging will turn back even to Mexico in some point of time. It is better judging is done via AI.

The Mexican did what Mexicans do- he made Nishant fight on the backfoot and trapped him at every opportunity in rounds 2 and 3. To get around that, you have to circle and fight on the outside using slick footwork. Unfortunately, Nishant didn't have the legs for that in the second half of the fight. It was a close fight, but Verde did enough to clinch it. Simple as that. Though the standing eight count given to Nishant in the first round was not required imo.
