I really really like this scene because even though these 3 adults are not related by blood towards Kotaro, and Kotaro has only known them for a while, they still have the urge to attend his entrance ceremony like they’re his family (not because they have to, but because they want to). It goes to show that if people really care about you, whether you’re family or not, they will find the time to support you. And in my opinion, friends or acquaintances are very much supportive of your life endeavors compared to your own family.

Because of moments like these, I think the anime is more wholesome than sad. My friends concentrate on Kotaro's past way too much, than to see that he has beautiful people around him and takes the opportunities to become happier.
True- i saw people calling this anime dark so i tried to avoid it. I don't want to make me feel more depressed :/ But then i saw another person saying it's heartwarming(?) I don't really remember but it's close to that lol. So i give it a try and i loved it x3
@@MagicxDice it's a mix of both in my opinion. Sure, we have these sweet tender moments where Kotaro finds those he can depend on. However, the sad parts also have their moments as it shows how life can be messy at times and not always happy. Finding the right balance between both is essential for a series like this. I just hope it continues and ends on a happy note.
This reminded me when i was a kid, and there were mom’s reunion at school, my mom would never come cause i never even talked to her, people would ask me why and i would always say that she worked 3 jobs so she could give me lots of gifts everyday.
My parents would also not come; though, at the time, my mom was in school for her nursing degree and my dad was at work paying for the mortgage... I know my parents love me, but it sucks when your parents are one of the few that don't come... Of course, back then, I didn't question why my home didn't have a bed and we always had to eat rice... And then, by the time the morgage was paid off and we all had beds (I was still in Elementary School) my dad and mom still had to work because my big sis was starting college and they didn't want us to be in debts after graduating... They might not have been able to come to a lot of events (they did come to those that they could), but they made damn sure that all 3 of us would graduate college without debt.
My mother never liked events where parents had to attend so when I was a child I would usually be alone, sometimes she would go but leave early and my best friend's mother would allow me to stick to her a bit. I didn't mind that much but it felt a bit uncomfortable to see everyone with their families haha. I understand she was never good handling other parents and also sometimes she had to work, so I don't blame her. But I wish I woud have a father at least, or someone of my family who would be close and would care. These clips bring tears to my eyes all the time, im so happy Kotato have people who care about him.
@@realglutenfree I get that; though I know that they worked hard for my sake. They made sure me and my siblings wouldn't have any college debt after we graduated...

Have you seen Captain Tsubasa? In anime you can and run to the speed of light, but the hallway/football field/Train station/swiming pool/hospital/or flower field, never ends
I just want to say that overall the scene . This has to be one of the most depressing anime series of all time in my book. Since most of us are victims of depressions and anxieties. This definitely proves how much one thing can change everything.
It’s kinda sad. What I wrote has some spoilers but scroll down if you’d still like. It’s about this 4 year old boy who lives on his own. His mother and father were very verbally and mentally abusive to him. His father left them and his mother abandoned him and killed herself. Kotaru get a weekly “donation” that is anonymous, but it’s actually his mother’s life insurance. The show really touches up on the signs of child abuse. For example, Kotaru bought expensive boxes of tissues because the ingredients were “tasty” since he used to eat tissues due to his hunger. Another thing is he didn’t celebrate his birthday because he thought his birth wasn’t worth celebrating. He also did spend time in the orphanage as well although I don’t remember how long. His 4-5 neighbors really care about him and provided him a source of happiness again. I don’t want to give too much more than I already did. I recommend you watch it if you haven’t already. It has a lot of heartwarming moment, but when you realize the reality of his situation and his persona, it can get really deep.
@@nani_bow3489 I don't watch the anime. I watched Clannad, Violet Evergarden, and Made in Abyss which are sadder than this show from the look of it. No need to be so smug, eh
