I don't recommend CAMPing at that site to the south with the spawn points...unless you plan on roleplaying Tokyo in a Godzilla movie. That's one of the new Kaiju battle spawn points. There are 3 spawn points in the immediate area, which can each spawn an Ogua, a Blue Devil, or a Sheepsquatch. And it's possible to get all 3 at once. Your CAMP will be destroyed, a lot.
You're absolutely right. I built my camp right over that spot, though. Just put a bunch of concrete foundations around a perimeter that it can't go up or destroy. My camp is a battle dome where my companion just gets killed by the ouga.
There's a silver deposit next to the Ogua pond I've been camped at recently. It's right at the base of a small cliff that makes for a nice multilevel location.

The Miner statues are part of an unmarked quest, that's why there's a no-build zone around them.
There are no new vendors at the new vault correct? I was disappointed that the new vendorbot didn’t have anything new or interesting.
