Am pretry sure this mode will be the most popular. Most pvp player do random bgs only. Arena is a smaller community it feels like. Bgs are more accessible.
Flarkness man, as someone who has been playing and leading high level strategic RBG's for the past five years all I can say is, VERY VERY good video. I watched someone else's RBG tierlist yesterday and stopped 1 min in after seeing them putting Frost DK in C tier. I loved the fact that you got Hunter in shared 5th place, as I use to lead while playing BM and base sitting as a lead is just very good. Most people do not regard Hunter as a good RBG class, but it is. I personally do think however the Warlock trumps Hunter slightly. Yes, this new Hunter is the most survivable hunter version we have to date, which helps, but Warlocks still just trumps it. Adds more team utility, and except for mobility, they just have a superior toolkit. I'd have Warlock/DH as my shared 5th place. The main issue though with Warlocks is - warlock players HATES defending nodes. Where for Hunters, they kind of know that it is something they are good at and frequently just adept to being a defender. I mean, how often in any RANDOM BG, do you see a warlock sit back and defend a node? You don't. :) Good list man, and as with all your videos, your strategic outlook often differs from the masses, and you always bring a unique vision to things that is often overlooked. Love your videos man, glad you will be doing more of it.
sorry it took me a while to respond to this, but I just wanted to say how wonderful of a comment this was. I love the perspective you bring with prior RBG experience and it's absolutely true: warlock's bring massive team utility and technically have a toolkit to sit a base though I don't think they would. there is one thing that I think you can do to lock easier than hunter though and that's burst them down in a 1v1. with no turtle if they get caught they may just instantly die through every cd depending on which class hits. but you have a great argument for warlock to take that spot, so excited to see how the bracket plays out.
Just wanted to add to this further re warlock base sitters - I think they are the superior base sitter, especially now they can sit in shadowmeld as a night elf. That being said, I much prefer them in my team fight rather than sitting.
Definitely would like a spec tier list video specifically for BG blitz. Preferably broken up into separate videos for healers, tanks, melee dps, and ranged dps.

A lot of blitz content coming? Well expect my subscription then! Great video, this it literally all the classes I want to play in TWW, exactly because of all the pvp utility they bring. I would like to add that I think that Mage will also be a top class for blitz, since they essentially have every advantage a Rogue, or boomy might bring + insane battlefield control with ring of frost/fire, Ice Wall, knockbacks etc.. I also think that Blitz will allow people to enjoy whatever class they love to shine; sure there are meta comps, but since it's objective based gameplay, your dmg is not important at all to be viable, so anybody who knows what utility their class can bring, can enjoy Blitz and play it at a high level. Infinity more accessible than Arena.

I do think mages have a wild kit that probably could've been put somewhere on this list. they can cap nodes with polymorph too, which I probably underestimated the value of when I made this. I was worried about their traditionally squishiness in team fights, but actually being able to go in, make an impact play somewhere, and get it out is just as useful and mages could absolutely do that. when I make the tier list I'll see which of their specs maybe I'll put higher than I was going to before!
mage would've probably been a fair choice at the dh/hunter spot but the 3 way tie felt like a cop-out lmao. mages tend to struggle in RBGs because of breakable cc and squishiness in a team fight setting. we'll see how it plays out!
I have to finish my dissertation. And I'm on the market this year. But hearing Flark talk about Blood DK in Blitz makes me really wanna resub...goddamn this game.
lmao the only thing enticing enough to pull you back into the depths of this silly game. I was so low on bg blitz until it actually came out -- and I'm able to admit when I'm wrong. this captured the perfect group of people from rateds and from randoms to come together in this strangely addicting game mode. it is time brother. let us ascend.
Dont forget the Aoe Grip + death chains Combo from Blood dk. Linking three people together so that each of them cleaves dmg taken onto the other two can INSTANTLY DELETE someone because there are so many uncontrollable sources of dmg in a bg. So BDK is useful as a defender, flag carrier AND teamfighter not only because he is disruptive, but also because he amplifies the dmg of your teammates AND can protect nearby Melee with this new aoe AMS talent! Im so looking forward to trying this out in tww!
Great content, would love to see a full list! I’m a big fan of RBGS and you are already helping me a lot in whether I should go Slayer Fury or Frost DK build first. I used to be rooting for Fury, but I also don’t wanna be a liability for my team. As far as my observation goes in Beta, the most value fury could contribute to BGs might just be its 45s CD aoe burst, you jump in and everybody around you lost half of their health bar in a global. There are also nuke build with which you can evaporate a none-plate class (quite literally) in the second global but I doubt it could live long. I think the biggest problem with fury is that its contribution outside of the burst window is a bit limited. It has okay sustain damage, okay mobility, could be very hard to kill if you play it right, a shock wave to stop melees, and everything else is probably mediocre. I don’t know if these are enough to put slayer fury in the A tier. oh Lord Flarkness, please enlighten us with your wisdom.

Looking forward to blitz a lot. I just enjoy playing Blood, and not in a kidknapping trash way. Random BGs are the only place I can really play, but theyre...too casual? But im too trash to be sweaty arena guy. Hoping this is a perfect middle ground where I can feel like im "progressing" the game while playing something I enjoy.
yeah that is the exact mindset that I think does so well in bg blitz. arenas are very intimate, and thus a lot of people shy away. but random bgs have no oomph, they're just boring. this is the perfect marriage of what people are after. very excited for this bracket to flourish!
I still maintain that DK + Healer will be the most impactful duo for BG Blitz, if you're getting pocket healed as DK in an unorganised BG format, you're just an unkillable god king that can force the teamfight and lock their team down
I agree they aren’t squishy and I’ve been able to 1 shot burst rogues as a frost mage. The DK brings so much more to the table with its cc and anti magic shields
@@Braamswart1 This is only 1 example, but on FC maps the team fight is unavoidable because the DK is able to make crossing the field be incredibly painful.

Totally agree! Have been playing wow since bc and the only time i enjoy pvp is in random bg and yolo rbg. Got to 1800 from leading my own yolos and stopped to do raiding n m+. Would love to start pvp again with this mode int tww! Loving it!!!
Blood DK- “Kidnapping”- a new terminology in wow lingo I was forced to learn the other night. This is when the blood DK abuses his ability to spam his low CD pulls on a healer. The blood DK pulled my holy pally down the hallway on the mines Bg map where you escort carts. He pulled me down the hallway and wouldn’t allow me to leave. His team loses a tank in a BG setting that doesn’t matter where I being a healer abd taken out of the game allowed the other team to win team fights easily: when I called for help the experienced team leader sent a raid warning not to help me. His reasoning was sound, if we send anyone to help me they will never kill the dk and we will only lose another man in the field. I realized the only way I could escape was by death itself. And so I swallowed my pride and swam to the bottom of the lava pool he held me prisoner in, I drowned myself in order to respawn and get back to battle. This tactic made a spec go from not very useful for this specific BG to easily the most impactful. An absolute menace and downright disturbing play style.
It’s hard to argue Druid or rogue. I’d say frost mage has good value but maybe the class as a whole doesn’t provide enough. I’d also say Shammy is a good choice: healer/ele have tools for the team, grounding totems, team healing, lots of knocks, Aoe roots, ok mobility, team Crit dam increase for whole team, maybe even gimmicks unused in other formats like counter strike totem, and really a Swiss Army Knife. Not saying they should have made the list but honorable mention.
yeah especially with hero talents coming out and the new class reworks in war within, so many classes/specs have immense new utility and power coming to war within especially in BG blitz where so many different playstyles can be rewarded. it is hard of course to narrow it down to 5, but I do like ele sham in a team fight setting and mage in a LOT of settings. I did knock mage as it's traditionally very squishy in rbg team fights, and figured with only 2 healers it'd be even squishier. but we'll see!
yeah druids are absolutely loving bg blitz. they have diversity, they are reliable, they have impact in every situation (team fight, base defending, base attacking) they are survivable...they are just great rn.

ngl priest will most likely be shit, few utility and super super super slow.. dk's will be meta, they hard counter priest with their grip and spam slow... one grip away from the teamfight and they are done
Warlock missing for healthstone/ rift and portal. Ret paladin missing for providing sanc/ freedom/ sac to flag carriers and being a solid base defender. MW monk missing as the only spec that can make your entire team completely magic immune whilst being highest mobility healer
ID say 1. DH 2. Rogue 3. Monk 4. Druid 5. DK/ Warlock. DH=both specs very strong, Vengeance is best tank. Rogue is king of objective. Monk is completely broken because of peaceweaver and completely immunes the team to magic. Required healer. Druid= same as rogue but with cyclone and massive pad damage for teamfights. DK = best peeling for a tank, kidnapping healers, stops people peeling away to do objective. Warlock = strong teamfight, healthstones, portal, rift for knocking, permanent slows,
warlock is definitely a great add to the top 5. another person said it as well. their team utility is definitely powerful, and gateway kinda makes up for their awful mobility by giving the entire team an in or out of a base. MW is hard to put on their because I don't know what I'd drop. the other 2 monk specs are not traditionally amazing in RBGs, but since a lot of people asked for a tier list I'd prob put MW A+ or S tier.
@@Flarkness I was shocked at other lists that put MW in B tier. They have great mobility, big heals, and really good CC. Maybe not as flexible as a Resto Druid, and maybe not as OP with the heals as an Evoker, but they seem solid as hell. Honestly, I think every healer S or A tier, with priests sadly being B or C. They don’t have the mobility or carry capability.
So I play healer with a buddy who does frost. We're struggling in blitz. Should we just focus on team fighting and hope other classes go and cap? We're low MMR. And do you have any recommendations on where to go to get educated on rbg roles?
oooh that's interesting. they've had periods on and off throughout the expansions where they could either be a pad god, or do no aoe damage at all. if you add crazy bleed aoe to their toolkit for war within bg blitz, then druid is even more locked in at number 1 for me xD
Best Class? The Class what you can play,i understand it is harsh against tanks for example but,knowing where are your buttons what every spell is doing and how much seconds you have on your cds is more important. I am about 1.8 rating in general and i saw the buff hype...in reality we smoked em. PvP is very delicate topic and it takes a lot of your time and dedication to be at least good to be honest...my tip-dont reroll this is not an casino and play class what can you resonate at the best what suits you guys :) play more classes is great to know what they exactly do but you will see that too in matches.. And think,think really good be calm dont stress out
Ive been watching all these videos still cant decide what to main Kinda want to do an off healer spec. Been liking DK, and Veng DH, But think monk or feral druid
DK might have to be lower on the list. I spent all prepatch trying out different classes and DK felt the worst (or rather the most frustrating) - and i say this as a former dk target caller. Big teamfights are less common than in rbg. And yes you bring big disruption to the other team, but you don't make the plays yourself and kinda rely on your teammates to do it (like in your example of your blood dk locking enemies in a fight - you need that one good rogue to go ninja cap). When your teammates aren't that good, dk feels powerless. That might make solo queue frustrating due to the randomness of your teammates. The only hope is that it works at higher rating where you should be "guaranteed" to have good teammates.
I bet it's one of those scenarios where the higher you get the better DK is. therefore there might feel like a wall at lower mmr where you're doing awesome things but the games aren't winning, but once you break through then all of a sudden DK is a BG Blitz legend. I'll be spam qing it all season ofc when war within drops so I can maybe test this theory.
they need to add duo que to this. it wont ruin the que times and there is basically no pvp playable in the game with out a healer friend allready cringe af
yeah I think even if the numbers with rogue are bad (which they NEVER stay bad for an entire expac, so I wouldn't worry) rogue's toolkit for RBGs is so immense they can never be bad in BG blitz. you could cap a base with loafs of bread for weapons.
mistweaver gets an S tier rating on my new tier list coming out tomorrow (spoiler) but the other monk specs seem not quite as perfectly tuned for BG setting. would you agree?
no on the tier lists... literally everyone does that. keep up with the guides your guides are just amazing. would love more advanced guides into specifics like positioning and proper use of CC in both blitz/arena.

That isn't very important for bg blitz. Best duo is double healer or rdruid stealth dps like a rogue.

Warlock missing for healthstone/ rift and portal. Ret paladin missing for providing sanc/ freedom/ sac to flag carriers and being a solid base defender. MW monk missing as the only spec that can make your entire team completely magic immune whilst being highest mobility healer
ID say 1. DH 2. Rogue 3. Monk 4. Druid 5. DK/ Warlock. DH=both specs very strong, Vengeance is best tank. Rogue is king of objective. Monk is completely broken because of peaceweaver and completely immunes the team to magic. Required healer. Druid= same as rogue but with cyclone and massive pad damage for teamfights. DK = best peeling for a tank, kidnapping healers, stops people peeling away to do objective. Warlock = strong teamfight, healthstones, portal, rift for knocking, permanent slows,

warlock is definitely a great add to the top 5. another person said it as well. their team utility is definitely powerful, and gateway kinda makes up for their awful mobility by giving the entire team an in or out of a base. MW is hard to put on their because I don't know what I'd drop. the other 2 monk specs are not traditionally amazing in RBGs, but since a lot of people asked for a tier list I'd prob put MW A+ or S tier.
@@Flarkness I was shocked at other lists that put MW in B tier. They have great mobility, big heals, and really good CC. Maybe not as flexible as a Resto Druid, and maybe not as OP with the heals as an Evoker, but they seem solid as hell.
Honestly, I think every healer S or A tier, with priests sadly being B or C. They don’t have the mobility or carry capability.
Ret good base defender? Ret is one of the more easy to CC for classes that typical attack bases... or kill when bubble is on cooldown.

So I play healer with a buddy who does frost. We're struggling in blitz. Should we just focus on team fighting and hope other classes go and cap? We're low MMR. And do you have any recommendations on where to go to get educated on rbg roles?
You just need to stay on the other teams healers. That’s what frost DK does best.

oooh that's interesting. they've had periods on and off throughout the expansions where they could either be a pad god, or do no aoe damage at all. if you add crazy bleed aoe to their toolkit for war within bg blitz, then druid is even more locked in at number 1 for me xD
Best Class? The Class what you can play,i understand it is harsh against tanks for example but,knowing where are your buttons what every spell is doing and how much seconds you have on your cds is more important.
I am about 1.8 rating in general and i saw the buff hype...in reality we smoked em.
PvP is very delicate topic and it takes a lot of your time and dedication to be at least good to be honest...my tip-dont reroll this is not an casino and play class what can you resonate at the best what suits you guys :) play more classes is great to know what they exactly do but you will see that too in matches..

DK might have to be lower on the list. I spent all prepatch trying out different classes and DK felt the worst (or rather the most frustrating) - and i say this as a former dk target caller.
Big teamfights are less common than in rbg. And yes you bring big disruption to the other team, but you don't make the plays yourself and kinda rely on your teammates to do it (like in your example of your blood dk locking enemies in a fight - you need that one good rogue to go ninja cap). When your teammates aren't that good, dk feels powerless. That might make solo queue frustrating due to the randomness of your teammates. The only hope is that it works at higher rating where you should be "guaranteed" to have good teammates.
I bet it's one of those scenarios where the higher you get the better DK is. therefore there might feel like a wall at lower mmr where you're doing awesome things but the games aren't winning, but once you break through then all of a sudden DK is a BG Blitz legend. I'll be spam qing it all season ofc when war within drops so I can maybe test this theory.

Numbers can change from tuning any time but classes do what they do.

yeah I think even if the numbers with rogue are bad (which they NEVER stay bad for an entire expac, so I wouldn't worry) rogue's toolkit for RBGs is so immense they can never be bad in BG blitz. you could cap a base with loafs of bread for weapons.
They were a few weeks ago in pve, but it's been getting buffs lately. Doesn't look to bad now.

mistweaver gets an S tier rating on my new tier list coming out tomorrow (spoiler) but the other monk specs seem not quite as perfectly tuned for BG setting. would you agree?

it's just the mobility that is a huge problem because bg blitz has so many different important places to be.
no on the tier lists... literally everyone does that. keep up with the guides your guides are just amazing. would love more advanced guides into specifics like positioning and proper use of CC in both blitz/arena.
