Stargate UHD on a phone is pretty useless. The s4 had a pentile display which actually lowered the resolution of it and looked like crap. The iPhone 11 doesn’t have the highest resolution but you can’t spot pixels and it gets amazing battery life. Take a UHD display and put it against the iPhone 11 and see how little screen resolution matters buddy. You don’t need that high of a resolution on a phone.
@@baoquoc3710 Have you seen their icons? They even have a startup sound very similar to what old flip phones used to have in 2004. Not to mention all the bloatware that Android gets. It's truly just a slightly updated flip phone OS from 2004.
2013 and still with a better display (OLED and higher resolution) than 2019's iPhone 11, and with hand and eye motion gestures that the Pixel 4 is NOW including in 2019 (albeit working with radar technology rather than only using the cameras). I was lucky of being part of the Galaxy S4 gang.

My first real smartphone, got it at release and kept it till getting an S8 in 2018. Even in those final months it didn't really feel like an "old" phone. Really underrated!

I still have mine since 2013 as well. The only problem I have is that over time it keeps piling up bloatware that I cant transfer to my external sd card. Its at the point where all my music and videos is on my sd card but so much of the internal memory is taken up from the software updates. I give it a few months until I change it to a new phone eventually.

Also, I have so many phone cases that I don't want a new phone, because I invested so much money in these head phones lol. Bought it yesterday, the exynos version. Pretty impressed with it, the smart scroll feature kinda interferes a lot when you are looking at a web page but all the other features such as air gestures etc.. might be useful. Anyway stupendous review!!(as always).. Kinda feels really cool when you are holding the phone and you start to hear positive reviews about it!!
Ahhh, going down memory lane... Had the S2, S3 when it was new, had that some time, went to the S4, then Note 4 which I had for almost F I V E years, now the Note 9 which I've had since November 2018, definitely miss the removable/replaceable battery though (went through like five of them over the years). Coming a long way since my Philips Diga.

Had my s4 for a few days now and it is awesome. The software and features are amazing. I don't really use the gimmicky features that much though. The camera is unbelievably good. And the battery last me a lot longer than any smartphone I've had before.
I had Sony phones until the Samsung S4, which was my first Samsung, and I've continued with Samsungs (along with the occasional iPhone) ever since! Interesting to see how excited MKBHD was to review it and how much more complex/advanced the phones of today are. It was a great phone for its time, though, and I kept it for years until I got the S7.
This was made before Marques understood that alternating between flat and rounded sides is a trade secret for making new devices feel different to old devices

Apple TechInternational I got mine passed down from an older sibling late 2014 and I am not moving to a new phone for another few more years. The S4 is capable to do whatever I need. It still decently powerful, maybe not as much so as the current flagships but still a great phone nevertheless
Yes. If you want a good cheap smartphone this one is great. I just upgraded to the LG g4. The lack of removable battery and ss card on the s6 was a deal breaker.

after the Galaxy S, and the S III, I got the S4, and dropped it like the second week I had it on a stone staircase. That metallic outline really took a beating and I was reminded of it every time i'd look at the phone. The last Android phone I used daily before switching to the fruity side of the world (I do own a Pixel 5a for Android development though). I think I just got tired of the clunky Android UI at some point and lack of OS updates really felt like a giant middle finger to customers. Apple is better at that, though not perfect back in the day, my original iPad stopped getting updates 1 year only after it came out. So crazy nowadays to see the *removable* battery and microSD card slot... I don't remember the S4 being much of an upgrade compared to the S3, except for the gimmicks with the air gestures and smart scroll feature, which I never used.
Got this phone and i totally love it! Been using this for 8 months and it still works just fine. Bought it because i saw your review when i was still weighing my options for purchasing a phone. Thanks man! Purchase was worth it. :)
