Just finished my under 60 euros build. It has this graphics card, Intel i5 cpu 650, 3x2g ram (ddr3), old hp gaming motherboard from 2013-2014 and 240gb ssd. Right now it does not even have box or power button so I just contacted couple wires to some random button and attached it to two pins on motherboard psw. Runs the long dark with 40-60fps, dying light with average 55fps and roblox with max 60fps. It will be my girlfriend's little brother's first pc :)
i got that card for my windows xp build that i did recently. it is the last supported generation for the system. I think it was the best choice for the low profile haswell lenovo thinkcentre that i have. all the other maxwell based low profile cards are much more expensive and do not provide the value. it works like a charm with xp era games.
Don’t always build one if you can and certainly don’t buy a system advertised as a “gaming pc” with a K620 it will be a world of pain. £200 will get you a really nice system in parts from Ali express. Plenty of video on here with step by step guides on building.
I grabbed one of these for my 12 year old’s 11 year old i7 4790k gamer we are putting together for steam games. Perhaps for Christmas or he can save up and buy himself a 3050 low profile and curve monitor soon, but will slap this in the $150 combo used desktop system from Walmart this weekend.
Still a great little card! I made my boy suffer with a 2200G Ryzen for 2 years… RTX3050 6GB is a great little card and will pair well with the 4790k. I’ve got a video coming Saturday with one so stay tuned 😎
You can squeeze a little more performance out of this card in games by forcefully installing it as a GeForce GTX 745 - all you have to do is edit a few of the driver files in the GeForce driver package to match the GTX 745 hardware ID (1382) to that of this card (13BB) and the installer will fully install it as such. Same trick works in Windows XP and it makes a fantastic retro gaming card.
In a budget SFF for a first PC, sure. Some of the 4th gen + systems need a single slot card to fit. It will play Roblox, Minecraft and RUclips videos etc.
I live in Spain too, I'm building a super budget box for under the TV. K620 here on Wallapop usually go for too much money, about 40-50. Here in Madrid I just bought a low profile 1050 ti for €50. That's twice the performance for about the same price. Obviously if you find one super cheap that's fine but above about €30 there are better options in my opinion.
Ive noticed a lot of resellers of ex-lease/refurbished xeon/core i7 workstations like to pair those old builds with this card to try and sell them off as "gaming pcs" just to help get rid of old stock.
Yeah I’ve seem a few of those, not really great and I don’t think I could live with myself selling one of these in a “Gaming PC” guess it’s better than a GT710 but that’s not saying anything really 😅 The K2200 is a lot better cars it’s basically a 4GB 750Ti and can be had for £20
to be honest, you get a very good price to performance despite it looking very disappointing, if you find an office pc with a i7 6700 for like £60-70 and chuck it in youll get a more than playable experience
It definitely offer some bang to buck or even better a freebie and if your going for the light titles it will serve till you can buy something better at least. Has to be better than the GT710!
Hello, I'm spanish. I loved your video explaining the graphics card. I would like to know what were the configurations you used in the Nvidia control panel?
This is why I am not getting rid of this card, still probably the best bang for your buck and to me 30 FPS is playable especially because all the high end games on the Xbox 360 only hit 32 FPS at a max so I am used to it. With this card I leave headroom for it by limiting it to 45 fps in games like CS:GO at 900P so it only gets to like 75C
I was managing 60fps at 1440p so I'd say 45fps is a little low to cap it at. Have to repasted the card as that's quite hot especially if your limiting it as well
@@andystech101 Yeah, I repasted it with an off brand low quality thermal paste so I will have to redo it. I fortunately got a Wx 3200 for $40 so I don’t mess with the k620 anymore. I want to make a video on the WX 3200 because there is like no video on YT about it.
I'm absolutely fascinated by Quadro cards, Andy... Workstation cards in general, they all seem to age better than their counterparts. The K6000/K5200, in the Mac world, holds a distinction of being the best absolute graphics card to run Snow Leopard (to this day the most beloved version of Mac OS overall). I started down that road when I first started playing retro-PC enthusiast (OK, retro-Mac if we're being specific)... However, I settled out on a 2 GB Matrix 5870 at that time - but I was always curious what that Quadro could do (prices STILL haven't dropped enough - I mean, honestly - $130 for a really outdated workstation card? I realize it was $4000 but jeez). Another great video, Andy :)
Hi buddy nice to here from you. Yes I’m the same tbh, I’ve just looked the k5200 up! They seem to be around £75 odd here in the UK but yes that does seem a lot for the card. That MSRP is mental though 😅 I need to look at the higher end cards a little more as I tend to just play with these cheaper ones as and when they come in. I’ve got a K2200 I picked up for £20 the other day which I’m looking forward to testing out 😎
It isn't just the cards, the workstation computers age extremely well too. It's all I use. Right now I am using a HP z620 workstation with a 2070 and it games extremely well. It will take 256GB of RAM, has 4 or 5 drive bays. It has an 850 watt power supply. You can run DUAL CPUs in it (although mine games great with just the one). The computer came out in 2013 and is still really fast. In fact, this is why the Mac Pro cheesegrater macs lasted so long. They are basically a PC workstation in a fancy case. I still have 2 of them and they perform better than many Macs up to fairly recently. They'll be fast enough for 99% of people up to the point where the OS becomes unusable.
@@gametime2473 I have a regular ole modern gaming computer with a RX6600 and a high refresh rate monitor... My 2010 Mac Pro running Linux is where I do much of my gaming however, so I know the joys of dual Xeon gaming well - glad to see I'm not alone :)
