Craig, ran into a lot of frustration with this. This was more detailed than the original wiki. Can do it fine through a GUI which basically does all this for you but command line I was having issues with. Appreciate this video. It helps a lot and it took care of the issues I was having.
Thank you for sharing a reliable way to get bluetooth on a raspberry pi. I hope this allows iPhones and iPads can work with this method. Just shows how cool Linux works.
Hi Craig, please put the rfcomm command line text in the comments here... I couldn’t read it because the 705 in the bottom right corner of the screen covers up part of the text. Thanks!!
i did put them in the video description, and yah, sorry for the cover up! direwolf -d t -p -q d -t 0 -c /run/direwolf.tnc.conf sudo rfcomm --raw watch /dev/rfcomm0 1 socat -d -d tcp4:127.0.0.1:8001 /dev/rfcomm0
Great video again! Is it possible to put this direwolf command-line stuff under a button in the menu? I liked to see the white 3D print of the IC-705 dock.
Try skipping those steps. I was able to simply pair my phone with the Bluetooth commands, and then restart the TNC & APRS igate from the web interface. APRSdroid connected and is able to TX/RX without any issue.
digipi does the direwolf/rfcomm commands already, when you start the TNC/igate service on the digipi home page. All you need to do is the remount/restart bluetooth/bluetotohctl commands, then you're paired.
I don't have the print of your dock in my hands just yet. I was lucky to have a friend do the print, but he's on the other side of the United States. More soon.
Thanks a lot for all you do. I have learned a lot in this video. Could you please explained how to run the digipi in a raspberry pi 4 using a digirig ?
Outstanding! A wireless interface for DireWolf. This should promote APRS messaging. Messages/notifications/alerts are a better match for a phone than rPi Xaster or similar. I like the maps better on a phone. Now do iOS. Just kidding. iOS didn’t support SPP normally. I don’t know if that changed. Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much for doing this, I've been wondering how to pair to the DigiPi with Bluetooth! I've got to point out that I didn't need to do anything more than pair my Samsung Galaxy S10+ and then stop and restart "TNC & APRS igate" on the web UI. I didn't need to enter any of the Direwolf and rfcom CLI on my v.1.6-1 (GA, haven't gotten a chance to download the MKII RC).
On DigiPi, just do the remount, restart bluetooth, then run bluetoothctl. Digipi does the direwolf/rfcomm commands when you start the TNC/Igate. good question.

Craig it seems like your direwolf command is missing something at the end. We can't see it in the video as the rig camera covers it. Thanks

mines is on a raspberry pi 3 but i just did the normal install then pluged in a digirig and everything works.
@@recoblade1465 Thanks guys - I haven't tried the digirig yet myself. Maybe drop something on the digipi mailing list if there were any issues?

It seems to be missing > /run/direwolf.log on the end of the direwolf command in your drop down. Thanks
Must you be running the dev branch of Direwolf to use Bluetooth TNC, or will this work with the standard build of Direwolf??
Standard build.. 1.7
I see your car has a ODBII reader too

You can Connect Your Kenwood D75A to Your Digipi,
I'm going to save you 7 keystrokes every time you switch to root... "sudo -i"
