Today Lisbon is on the schedule. However, gaaaaanz relaxed. I have just been here last year. Also as part of a cruise but even a little longer than this time. Last year we had the luxury of the AIDA staying overnight in Lisbon and not leaving until the next afternoon. This gave us almost two full days in this city, which we also took advantage of. Today we concentrate on three things: the Castelo de São Jorge, then a delicious lunch in the Time Out Market, aschließend it should go by cab over the bridge of 25 April to the Christ statue "Cristo Rei". From there it should go by streetcar down to the shore and from there by ferry across the Tagus back to the cruise pier. This is the plan.
First we walk from the ship to the old town district of Alfama. We make a quick stop at one of the city's most popular viewpoints before continuing uphill toward the Castelo de São Jorge. There is also an excellent view of the whole city from the Castelo. In addition, right at the entrance in the large square there are a few stalls where you can get little things. Among other things, of course, Pastéis de Nata. Add to that a café and the day can only be good ;-)
From the Castelo de São Jorge we continue by cab to the Time Out Market. A food court that we already discovered last year. It is located in the west wing of the Mercado da Ribeira. A market hall. There are a lot of local dishes and you want to try everything. But unfortunately there is no time for that.
The statue of Christ "Cristo Rei" is waiting for us. We grab a cab and drive over the bridge of April 25th to the district of Almada and to the statue. Again, a fantastic view over the Tagus, the bridge and actually the entire city awaits us. After we have seen our fill, we reach the next streetcar stop after a short walk. Down to the ferry dock it is only a few stations. Once there, we unfortunately find out that the ferries are not running at the moment. A short warning strike prevents us from taking the short way across the river and so we have to get back into a cab and take the long way around and back across the bridge of April 25th back to the ship.
This video belongs to the tour "Warnemünde to Gran Canaria", on which I have been in November 2022 with the AIDAsol. The trip led from Warnemünde via Copenhagen, Dover, A Coruña, Porto, Lisbon and Lanzarote to Gran Canaria. A brilliant route, very varied cities and also neat route from northern Germany to southern Spain. Also to cross the Biscay once in November is certainly something special ;-) If you want to see more, here are the links to the other videos of this tour.

Das ist wohl wahr. Ja. Lissabon ist echt wunderschön. 🙂 Wettertechnisch sind die Kanaren aber etwas besser geeignet. 😉

Danke dir vielmals! 🙂 Schön, dass du wieder mit dabei gewesen bist. Lissabon ist echt ein Traum. Hier möchte ich mal länger her, als nur für einen Tag mit dem Kreuzfahrtschiff. Eher ne Woche. Durch die Gassen schlendern, die Ausblicke genießen und die vielen tollen Restaurants antesten. Da hatten wir ja letztes Jahr schon die Chance, weil die AIDA über Nacht lag. Das war der Hammer! Möchte ich unbedingt wieder tun. Traumhafte Stadt.
