I remember when Caught up in you was blasting the air waves in 1982 when Special Forces came out and it still holds strong 41 years later, 38 Special put out some awesome stuff.

i would never say it's and 'underrated' band because millions around the planet love and identify with their songs and their lyrics. Both of which accompany the lives of so many. I'm from Germany, 54 years old, never been to the USA but still love 38 Special. Special!

I don't think these guys are the originals. I think outside people come alone half way through their careers seeing the popularity of the songs and they go talk to lawyers to acquire the name of the group after its original members have put the kaibosh on things.

What a difference between 1983-1985 when I saw them 3 times live "original line-up" and now. Obviously. Only Don Barnes remaining now. Back then they had 2 drummers and a couple female backup singers "post Dale Krantz". Miss Donnie Van Zant running around onstage and his vocals also. Also Jeff Carlisi on lead guitar!! One of those shows around 1984 had and upcoming group Huey Lewis & The News opening for them. RIP Bassist - Larry Junstrom.
