    I tried installing Acerbis X-Factor hand guards on my Rally with stock bars today and ran into an issue. The stock brake and clutch levers are too long. Buying the Zeta ones now for better clearance. I saw you swapped them out during this install video, but didn’t mention it was necessary for proper fitment.

      I'm surprised to hear that! I did swap out the levers during this install but I had no idea the factory levers were too long. Didn't try mounting the hand guards until after I installed the Zeta levers. Sorry about that!

      Super detailed installation video except for one critical bit. Wish I had read this before ordering the handguards! I was scratching my head in the middle of the install wondering why nothing fit. Then I noticed that @ 3:36 the stock levers are magically replaced. Sneaky! Can't afford new levers now so the hand guards are being returned. Vid definitely needs a disclaimer that this is only for bikes with Zeta levers.

      These handguards should work with any aftermarket levers that are shorter than factory, which is basically all of them. You can get a set of levers for $20 or maybe even less. I'll pin this comment so it's easier for people to see.

    Installed grip puppies a while ago. Bought the Acerbis guards and started to mount. Big problems. This video only applies if you have removed stock grips and bar ends. It is also super helpful if you have the shorter levers installed already (as noted below).
    Now I need to cut off and buy new Grip Puppies, grips, and levers. Meanwhile the bike sits with the handlebars a mess. Probably for a few weeks while I wait for an order.
    All that aside, your vids are all spectacular.

      Thank you. Sorry for not being more precise about the fitment requirements. I've only gotten to do a handful of videos with this bike so far.

    Did did you have any issues with the handguards bumping the rally tower when fully turned to the left? I noticed the OEM handguards have a angle to avoid touching

    • @EndlessMoneyPits

      Nope, there was not any contact there on this bike.

    Which paddock stand are you using, and do you recommend it?

    • @EndlessMoneyPits
      @EndlessMoneyPits  3 месяца назад

      There should be a link for it in the video description. It's kinda cheaply made but gets the job done and is pretty affordable compared to other options. I've had it and the front stand too for about 7 years with no problems, so I would recommend them, but don't expect a high quality product.

    Magically the mirrors change, the levers change, the grips change and bar weights disappear.

    …. Didn’t need to remove the weights on the bar… you took off stability to the bike at high speeds and also gave the bike extra vibrations… poor owner…

    • @EndlessMoneyPits
      @EndlessMoneyPits  Год назад +1

      There is no loss of stability or added vibration. The weight of the handguards more than offsets the bar end weights. I would not recommend mounting the handguards to the weights (if that's even possible) because the weights spin freely. Handguards need to be mounted to a stationary object.

    • @edukze
      @edukze Год назад

      @@EndlessMoneyPits I could agree with you about the weight balance because of the handguards however I don’t mean to mount them right on the weights bar, you take out the beauty thing the real weight bar is what it is inside.

    • @EndlessMoneyPits
      @EndlessMoneyPits  Год назад

      The handguard mounts also put mass inside the bar. There is no difference in ride quality after installing handguards.

  • @davejoe2592
    @davejoe2592 Год назад +2

    Are those stock bars? My understanding (at least for the non rally version), is that there are weights in the stock bar ends threaded for an M6 bolt that need to be drilled out and tapped to accept it unless you choose to use an M6 instead. I bought the same guards and did a test fit yesterday and also found my clutch lever appears as if it is going to rub on the guard (mind you it was a very crude test fitting as I didn't have time on my side).

    • @EndlessMoneyPits
      @EndlessMoneyPits  Год назад +1

      Yes, they are stock bars. I forgot to mention I removed the bar ends in the hand grip replacement video. They don't have to be drilled out. You might be able to adjust the clutch lever inward if it makes contact with the handguard, but it shouldn't. Here you go:
