So, Tweek and Craig are actually together, they're boyfriends, they use pet names with each others even when they're alone, they have dates, they encourage each other, they support each other and in the game they act like a couple hands down, but they're not "sexual"? Well that's everything I wanted to hear, they're in 4th grade, it's cute how the like each other in a romantic way and all, but it's great for Matt and Trey to confirm they're not sexual at all, seems pretty accurate to me.
The pet names and holding hands are very innocent for a couple in elementary school, and I think it's good the creators kept it that way.

Relationship wise, Tweek and Craig are the most natural and "in age" relationship, second only to other one stand crushes here and there in the old seasons. Stan Wendy and Cartman Heidi have some "adulty" approach, mostly toxic. Sorry on using that word, I know some people cringe at the sight, but I don't see how "I cannot fix you" can be described when it was a vendecta breakup. Or how Cartman literally wanted to *kill* Heidi (and almost viceversa when she took the gun). Unhealty maybe, yeah. No fourth grader would kill or twist emotions like that

I just think that Craig and Tweek bounce off of each other on just a great comedic level. One is super chill and collective and the other is paranoid and anxious. That's a pretty neat complementary pairing that works great for like jokes and funny situations. So having them still be a couple just to maintain that is genius. Trey and Matt are super smart and always seem to crack the code on what serves their writing.
I love how they actually do act a little like pc principle with the whole “tweek is a- this is probably bad to say but like- tweek is the woman”

They did a casting call for people to submit fanart & I remember quite a few artists being wary because they didn’t want their art made fun of on national TV
And of course, even if it was scary, it was exciting because Tweek/Craig had been one of the most popular ships the entire time. Behind anything involving the 4 main boys but ahead of most of the others.
EDIT to add that a lot of the episodes from like seasons 15 to 19 got crazed reactions. Particularly season 16 with regards to Jewpacabra and Cartman Finds Love haha. And now I’m realizing I’m talking about episodes that are like a decade old and I feel ancient.
I like to think that Tweek and Craig stay together when they age and their relationship evolves (even though no-one in south park really age much, Ike's been a toddler for 22years)

I like that it is a canon but I hate that he said “to young” but other South Park characters aren’t “too young” to do half the things that they do and aren’t “too young” to have a heterosexual relationship. I also didn’t like how they said that the more emotional one tweek aka “woman in this relationship” -(basically calling him a bottom)- and that Craig is the calmer one aka “man of the relationship “ but the point is in a gay relationship is that their both MEN and men can be as “ emotional” as they want :/
So in the commentary for the fractured but whole they actually said that the video game let them do a lot more with creek (and the show in general ) then the show did so i think they had/ have to be very careful with them because of how sexualized yaoi is/can be.. Personally I really like that they have a more innocent wholesome relationship because as they age and reach maturity and all that stuff comes into play they actually will have a more solid foundation in regards to their relationship then some of the other kid- characters their age.
